Comfortable furniture, good TV and good wifi. Beach chairs, umbrella, beach toys all available, well used and much appreciated. The game room was such a great amenity for the very active youngsters (14, 12, 10) as well as all the board games and bunk beds. The kitchen had everything we needed. Proximity to the fabulous beach was a treat as well. Mostly clean but the oven hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. On the 2nd floor, there is no mirror anywhere other than the bathroom which makes it tough with so many people sharing the one bathroom. One of the 2nd floor bedrooms had no reading lamp and no trash can. The stairs to the 3rd floor are extremely steep & small making it very precarious and difficult to carry things up or down. There is no dresser or closet on the 3rd floor either. Other closet doors are either off altogether or broken. Of the dozens of vacation rentals I have used, this is the first time I had to rent linens so that was a bit weird. However it was a wonderful home base for our family to enjoy the beach and see some sights in Portland. I would rent here again.

This is our 4th year at Shellcastle and as always it was a perfect week. We look forward to this every year and it never disappoints. The house is so perfect for our big group of "big kids". They have the best time every year. Enough space for 10+ people with our visiting friends and the game room and side yard make our stay even better. Once off the beach and not down at the pier it keeps everyone entertained. Can't wait for next year!!!

Had a great time. Walking distance to the beach, mini golf, restaurants, the pier. Dogs loved our walks and we enjoyed looking at the houses. A very campy and easy to care for place. The game house was a great addition! Kitchen and baths had everything we needed for a few days. Lawn was a wonderful spot to read a book or for wine and chatting after dark. Lior was very attentive and offered great suggestions.

The house itself was super clean, and very well done to host a family! They had a travel crib for my little one, and lots of space for my big kids to spread out. There were awesome toys and games there (I highly recommend tackling a 500 piece puzzle if you stay the weekend). The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare the food we brought for our kids, and there were plenty of great restaurants nearby to order takeout! The game room was AMAZING, and my kids had a great time in there. I couldn't recommend it any more highly--- try it, you won't regret your stay!

OOB is very quiet at this time of year and, like everywhere in the US, they are suffering from staff shortages at restaurants, but there were still plenty of options nearby. At the same time, the house had a very well-stocked kitchen and plenty of seating, so going out is not a necessity.

This home hit my family perfectly along with my in-laws. The third floor really makes a huge difference. It was far enough away from noise of downtown but close enough to walk if you wanted. Overall a great vacation in a good location.

This is our third year here and it is always a perfect week. The house is everything we want and need for 9 people. We don't feel like we are on top of each other and the yard and game room are a huge added bonus. Kids ranging from 12-21 and they are all happy the whole time they are here. Lior is so great to work with. He was so quick to get back to us for anything we needed and very generous to us. We can't wait to book our trip next year!

It’s an older home but very well maintained. Very comfortable and clean. It came with a game room which was a huge hit for all of us, especially during the rain, it gave us something to do without having to leave the property. The beds were comfortable and there was more than enough room for 8 adults. The location was great for the couple of beach days we had as well and the house provided some beach chairs for us to use. The only down side was it had a charcoal grill and we had to buy some charcoal for it. If we knew that ahead of time we would have brought our gas grill from home. Otherwise great home and will most likely rent it again!!!

Can't say enough good things about this house and Steve. We always have the best time and there is nothing we need that is not supplied. Perfect place for our family and friend's family to spend the week. Steve is always only a phone call or text away. We look forward to this every year!

Wonderful location in Old Orchard. We spent our days hiking and exploring all the beauty Portland has to offer. The fire pit was a wonderful spot to end our day roaring marshmallows. Steve was available to any questions or problems 24/7. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with our family.

We had a such a great time in Old Orchard Beach, and this location made it even better! Great location with great amenities. Easy walk to the beach, while still being in a quiet neighborhood a few blocks off the main drag. We will absolutely be returning to this location next year! Thank you Steven!

The house was amazing. Close distance to the beach. Plenty of space within the home for my group to spread out and be comfortable. Steven was great with communication.

First off, the property owner, Steven, was exceptional at communicating with us. Every question we had was answered extremely quickly. I really appreciate that. Second, the house is even better than the pictures, in my opinion. All the rooms downstairs (kitchen, dining, living, sitting, bath) were very well appointed. It was so comfortable and easy for all our guests to sit together or spread out if we wanted. Great for playing card games!!! And the washer & dryer were a very nice addition to have. We had a big lobster dinner for eight adults & had plenty of room. Also, it's important to me to point out that we never wanted for anything --- the kitchen is supremely well-stocked, everything we could ever imagine needing was there, including doggie dishes & an adorable doggie placemats to put their dishes on! Literally everything was there, including spices, dressings, sugar, coffee, pasta....you name it!!!! We were amazed & overjoyed -- it made life so much easier to not have to run to the store and get these little things. The 3 bedrooms on the 2nd floor were just lovely. Everyone who slept there said the beds were comfy & they all slept very well. The large full bath on that floor is also very pleasant. The single "king bedroom" on the 3rd floor was awesome. My husband and I used that room and we loved it. And having a TV in every room was absolutely awesome --- we all like to watch TV before bed, or to fall asleep to, and it was fantastic to have these TV's available. Now, onto the super duper extras! The "adult" game room attached to the garage is beyond awesome: Gorgeous new pool table, foosball, darts, mp3 player to hook up your phone & play your music, mini fridge for beverages of your choice, and being detached, separated from the main house means that you don't disturb or keep anyone awake that might be resting in the house. Just an awesome amenity! The fire pit (outside the garage/game room, on the lawn surrounded mostly by privacy fence) was fun & warm & beautiful. And the last extra special amenity that I didn't realize was there until we arrived -- on the opposite side of the house from the driveway, game room, fire pit, and larger yard, there's a small fenced in yard designed for the dogs to do their business. Our 2 little emotional support dogs we're thrilled to have it. The neighborhood is extraordinarily well located. So easy to get anywhere in OOB from this location. We absolutely loved our vacation & we HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

We had 9 family members staying at the property. There was plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable and invite our local family and friends over.

Easy check in, nice accommodations, clean, plenty of kitchen tools, awesome game room for inclement weather.

We went on vacation with our dogs and our college and high school kids and all their friends. We had plenty of room for all. TVs in all bedrooms and livingroom avoided down time arguments. The game room with pool table and dart board let them play their music and give them a space to congregate away from mom and dad. Although the distance to the beach or down town Old Orchard Beach was further than I would walk, the kids did take those walks. The nearby beach was beautiful and a great place to play ball with our labrador retriever. We were centrally located so it was a short drive to anything we wanted to do in the area. The house was clean and comfortable with a spacious kitchen. There was air conditioning in every room. There was a fire pit for late evening fun. The instructions emailed by the owner were clear.
