We had a great time! Easy access to the beach, awesome property, and beautiful house.

This was hands-down the cleanest and most well-stocked vacation home we have ever stayed in! The kitchen was stocked with a great selection of pans, cooking utensils, and appliances - everything we needed to cook during our stay. We used the outdoor grill, and we loved the little pantry and laundry area that were stocked with thoughtful items like spices, paper products, cleaning supplies, laundry soap, and even insect repellent. The beach house was just a short walk to the beach, and we saw wild horses almost every day. Our family really loved spending time out on the deck and on the screened-in porch. Beach chairs, an umbrella, and yard games were supplied, along with a huge dresser that was completely filled with board games, puzzles, and books. Beds were very comfortable. Jim and Sue were excellent hosts, and it is obvious that they care about their guests. We arrived at the beach house late on Saturday night, and it was a little nerve-wracking driving on the beach for the first time in the dark, but they were kind enough to check in on us and give us clear directions to their home. We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to the OBX and would not hesitate to book here again. Highly recommended!

This was like our home away from home. It is extremely clean and comfortable. The owners thought of everything you might need and provided it. The outdoor living spaces are perfect for relaxing and playing games. Our family enjoyed it so much that they want to go back

The house was the most equipped and comfortable of any that we've ever visited. The seclusion was everything that I expected and more. The beach was beautiful and we were able to see plenty of horses during our visit.

Beautiful location! The house is amazing. The cleanest VRBO house I have stayed at, spotless. Lots of extras in the house in case you forget something. Beds are comfortable. The host are very friendly and super helpful. I texted a few questions and got immediate responses. They even went by the grocery store to help with a problem I had with a delivery order. We really enjoyed our vacation here.

Where to begin…our weeklong stay at Shore Relaxing was an absolute dream. The home was exactly as advertised, and the location was perfect with an ocean view yet set back in a quiet area. We loved the wrap around deck, dining areas throughout, and utilized the on-site grill for many meals. The home was super comfortable for our family of four (beds were very comfortable!!) and provided a great home base for us. The drive down the beach back and forth did not seem long at all, actually we really enjoyed the unique fun it provided. We rented a Jeep Gladiator which handled high and low tide really well. AND…we enjoyed seeing over 50 wild horses throughout our stay! Definitely a high light. Shore Relaxing has everything we look for in a vacation rental which made our stay that much more enjoyable. The owners responded promptly when we had questions, however we had very few due to the attention to detail they have taken for their guests. We will be back to OBX….and it will include a stay at this home. It is “for sure” relaxing! Thank you for letting us enjoy your home!

We had a great time and loved this property- very close to the beach, easy drive or walk. Property was very clean and nicely decorated, and had many nice/comfortable little touches. The hosts were very thoughtful, leaving a baby gate for the stairs and sippy cups for the kids. Beds comfortable, our son loved the bunk bed set up. Outdoor shower was wonderful, the deck and screened porch were lovely. The photos do not do this property justice, can’t say enough great things about it.

We appreciate all the attention to detail the hosts put towards ensuring guests have a relaxing stay, including the pantry, laundry, beach supplies and games, books, movies and puzzles. The beds were comfortable and linens and towels great condition. Two coffee pot options a plus and beach access easy yet secluded. Great stay! Would definitely recommend to others.

Shore Relaxing is a wonderful vacation property. Everyone in our party highly recommend this home for a relaxing vacation. Ocean view and access to lots of horses and other wildlife. Property owners are fantastic and spot on in communication. Thanks Jim and Sue for a great vacation.

Wonderful house! Great location! Very clean! We saw the horses most days we were there. We gathered some beautiful shells on the beach. Beach is within walking distance. Everything there that you could need.

Our stay at Shore Relaxing exceeded our expectations and truly lived up to it's name!! This place is a gem. Checking in and out was a breeze, owners are very pleasant and have thought of everything. The home was very clean, furniture very comfortable and overall ideal for our family of 4 and 2 dogs 1 week stay. We saw horses almost every day plus other wildlife. Wish we could have stayed longer!! Highly recommend staying here!

Property was a perfect distance to the beach, without being on top of each other. The house was gorgeous. Perfectly sized for our family of 5. Plenty of kitchen accessories and appliances and the washer/dryer was so handy. Looking forward to booking again!!

I will start off saying do not pass this house up. Everything from the deck to the home itself, kitchen, beds, bathrooms and more is amazing! You walk in to a dream home with the most relaxing smell and everything you could possibly need with things you never thought you would need. You get cozy in bed and are automatically in relax mode. Wake up and take a shower in a dream bathroom. My husband and daughter along with myself were so sad to leave it truly is the best version of home you could ask for if not better. Thank you for nothing short of amazing.

The house was perfect. It had everything you could ask for. It was just far enough away but still plenty to do with the family. This place is a hidden gem within OBX.

This home is both perfectly outfitted and decorated for a week at a quiet, laidback beach. A short walk (or drive if you’ve got more to carry) made coming and going to the beach throughout the day such a pleasure. Morning and evening walks around the beach and side roads were positively amazing as well. Whether it was watching the morning sunrise over the ocean or the evening sunset over the sound, this house had every angle covered from the top porch. Not to be forgotten, the lower porch was perfect for night time family games or listening to the rain. The house itself was beautifully appointed with such outstanding features and fixtures, all of which put you instantly in mind of a sleepy beach cottage. We were blown away by how equipped the kitchen and pantry were (there was even a popcorn maker) and didn’t even use a fraction of the extra tools and gadgets we had brought with us. We have yet to find such an incredible fit for our family, in a beach house and have already booked for next year. The owners were so attentive and responsive. We felt so lucky that they opened such an amazing home up to share with visitors like us!

We drove to the beach when we wanted to take the cooler and beach chairs etc. Four beach chairs and an umbrella were provided. We saw horses and deer every day in the drive way. Most of our time we spent on the wraparound deck. My favorite spot of the house is the balcony off the master bedroom where one has a perfect view of the ocean. The house is well stocked with everything your family needs to entertain itself - there are games, puzzles, books, crayons and chalk. I have heard many complain about the water on the 4X4, so we came prepared with bottles of filtered water - but we were pleasantly surprised to see that the house has filtered water for both the refigerator and the kitchen sink. Another nice surprise was how well equipped the kitchen is. I brought everything I needed to make chocolate chip cookies, but the house had all the ingredients necessary except for the chocolate chips! The house is less than five minutes away from the Carova Beach Park and Boat Ramp. We launched paddleboards from there and also caught a fishing charter. This is a quiet, peaceful retreat with very responsive owners. We hope to be back soon.

10/10 beautiful spot , secluded house is immaculate and perfect. . All you hear are birds and ocean!. Not a thing negative to say beach is beautiful.

We had the perfect vacation staying at this beautiful house and property! The house was immaculately clean and decorated beautifully! The house was stocked with everything we needed for our weeks stay. The location was WONDERFUL. The lot was private and surrounded by lovely trees with a fantastic view of the ocean from the upper and lower decks and screened in porches. We were so close to the ocean, we could either walk or drive to beach. We saw so many horses on the beach and dunes and even had a special surprise as we were packing up to leave. Three beautiful wild horses came to visit us outside of the house. We definitely will rent this property again for our future visits to Carova Beach! Everything was Absolutely Magical! A Perfect vacation place!

We spent a week in late May at this lovely house with our dog. Everyone enjoyed, especially the pooch who spent hours on the the quite porch waiting for the horses to stroll by. The house was beautiful and kitchen well stocked. Can't wait to return.
