Purtroppo l’assenza dell’ascensore

Top-Lage, schönes Hotel mit Altbaucharme, aussergewöhnlich nettes Personal, tolles Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Meist bekommt man einen Parkplatz direkt vor der Tür.

Der Frühstücksraum ist etwas klein, aber das Frühstück ist abwechslungsreich und lecker

Die Ausstattung des Hotels hat einen etwas rustikalen, aber sympathischen Konrad-Adenauer-Charme. Das Bett war bequem und vor allem ist das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis fair. Die Auswahl beim Frühstücksbuffet ist überdurchschnittlich (guter Käse, viele vegetarische, allerdings keine guten veganen Optionen). Außerdem ist die Lage ganz gut, gleich an der Theresienwiese und in Bahnhofsnähe, zu Wiesnzeiten sicher eine super Adresse.

Leider macht das Management total unnötige und auch billig wirkende Einschränkungen, die den Komfort massiv senken. Beispiel: Beim Internet gibt es eine Beschränkung der Geräte, die man gleichzeitig nutzen kann. Ich hatte also entweder am Laptop oder am Handy WLAN - blöd, wenn das Zimmer im Souterrain ist und man damit am Handy auch keinen LTE-Empfang hat. Diese Einschränkung dient keinem Zweck außer den Gast zu nerven. Anderes Beispiel: Beim Frühstück darf man nichts mitnehmen. Wer also einen Kundentermin um 8:30 hat und sich 10 Minuten vorher zwei Käsebrötchen für die Fahrt mitnehmen möchte, wird unhöflich an der Rezeption aufgehalten. Dann kann man sie entweder vor Ort hinunterschlingen oder sie liegen lassen und sich was beim Bäcker holen. So etwas habe ich noch in keinem anderen Hotel erlebt, es ist als Gast auch etwas peinlich und unangenehm. Doppelt ärgerlich, da man das Frühstück immer mitbezahlt, also nicht ohne Frühstücksoption buchen kann. Das sind jetzt nur zwei kleine Beispiele die belanglos wirken mögen, aber für mich sind sie ein absolutes Warnsignal, weil bei wirklich guten Hotels die individuelle Gastzufriedenheit an oberster Stelle stehen muss, das unterscheidet sie gerade von den günstigeren Hostels. Ich weiß nicht, was wäre, wenn ich ein richtiges Problem gehabt hätte. Gerade wenn man etwa geschäftlich unterwegs und gestresst ist, ärgern einen solche Kleinigkeiten enorm - und zwar viel mehr, als sie dem Hotel einen Nutzen bringen (Gäste werden ja nicht ganze Batterien an Wurstsemmeln aus dem Seibel exportieren). Deswegen würde ich das Hotel Geschäftsreisenden, bei denen alles möglichst reibungslos verlaufen soll, nicht empfehlen. Würde sich das Seibel in dieser Hinsicht einfach an den normalen Standards, die bei jedem ordentlichen Hotel gang und gäbe sind, oder einfach an seinem eigenen Motto ("Sich wie Zuhause fühlen") orientieren, wäre es ein echter Tip. So würde ich es zur Sicherheit eher meiden.

(Maxim) The hotel is nicely located, no too far from central station and closely to U-bahn stations. The neighbourhood is quiet, although it might be very chaotic during Oktoberfest, as this hotel is close to the festival area for Oktober Fest. I would also like to give a compliment for the friendly staff. When we checked in, it turned out that the hotel's administration forgot about our request to put 2 separate beds. This problem was, however, perfectly solved by a very kind receptionist, as she managed to find an empty room with 2 separate beds. As last but not least, I enjoyed the served breakfast. The products are fresh, tasty and the staff is continously checking the food stock. In combination with old-fashioned furniture and a splendid balcony, the breakfast was amazing!

The first major problem is the absence of an elevator, which obliged me to carry a heavy suitcase up to the 2nd floor. Now I'm a young, fit man, but if I were a senior... Besides, my room didn't have air conditioning and there are no structural measures to prevent the sunrays coming in (yes, there are curtains, but they don't help against the heath that already has entered the room through glass). It was very hot in the room. During night we had to open the windows, which permitted various zooming insects to join us in our sleep. Lastly, I would like to mention the "ecological" shower. It is very water saving, as it is such a crap that nobody is able to stand there longer than 5 minutes, which prevents us from using too much water.

A really nice hotel with a classic atmosphere. The hotel felt very romantic with its victorian interior. The breakfast was great and so were the staff. The location was also great. Close to the train station, nice restaurants and grocery stores.

Personally, I could have used better facilities to sit down and work as I were working remotely during my stay. Ended up sitting on a closeby café instead, worked great.

only main issue was the smell on the lower ground floor from the drains. could be helped with air fresher. thankfully the room didn’t smell, was just the corridor.
