location was great

The main reason we booked this home was the location. The second reason we booked was the back deck. The photos of the deck on Booking are not what we saw upon arrival. Nothing was on the deck as shown in the photos except for 3 bar height chairs. No picnic table, no loungers, no awning. Very disappointed! The house has certainly seen better days. Only one of the 4 TVs had a remote that worked. The door frame and threshold was rotting. In the main bathroom the tub faucet was about to fall off and the toilet in the secondary bathroom was leaking though the floor onto our car parked below. As for cleanliness, we opted to not use any of the provided pots and pans as they were rusty and rather gross. The kitchen stove had food stuff and grease on the cook top. Whatever products were used to clean the kitchen cabinets and counters left the surfaces very sticky, yuck! Each night before going to bed we had to wash our feet because of the dirty floor. The linens and towels were clean and the beds were comfortable. In bedroom two there are no shades for the window we had to use beach towels to cover them at night for the neighbors flood lights. as you can see in the photos of the deck not very entertaining.

The size of the home

The dust all over the home. Ceiling fans need to be cleaned, thick dust on ceiling fans, windows, mini blinds, and nick nacks on the walls. We liked 3 large roaches on the master bedroom. Master bedroom bedsheets had lots of hair. Bedsheets were removed and washed at 1am and had to wait for them to wash and dry before being able to get to bed. The lack of cooking pots and pans.

Location was prime! It is away from all tourists and the beach was perfect.

Had no wash clothes at all. Called and asked to be provided some and was told some would be dropped off, but that never happened. Kitchen materials (pans, utensils) looked several years old. Ought to be able to replace those more often.

Great location! Right on that water, quiet neighborhood, easy parking, great views, nice room layout, nice living room decor and well stocked kitchen appliances/utensils.

Since the house is in such a great location it seems as if the property owners don’t feel the need to update or address any other problems with the house. As soon as I arrived I noticed the ground level area was almost non existent, if just had a few old lawn chairs and a bench. The “outdoor shower” was just a garden hose that you had to attach to a shower head that only had cold water. The porch was run down and some of the planks felt scary to step on. Out of the 10 chairs that were available to sit on outside only 4 weren’t cracked or broken in some type of way. The rug in the living room was still dirty and a number of my guest stepped on sharp objects that were on/in the rug. The showers were both odd, the guest shower itself was a standup shower and was very narrow with a shower head that could not be adjusted in anyway with water pressure that was uncomfortably strong. The en suite shower was kind of difficult to step inside to the point that some of my guest were nervous to use it. In the living room there was 3 pullout couches but it would almost be impossible to have all 3 open at the same time, there just not enough room. The laundry room was extremely outdated and the only way the washer would start is if was on the rinse cycle. Unfortunately with this house you’re only paying for it’s location.

Everything was amazing. The view, the accessibility to stores an restaurants and the house was well stocked with all we needed. The staff were attentive and made sure we had all we needed along the way.

The benches on the patio need to be repaired.
