We have such mixed feeling about this rental. There were definitely pros & cons... The location was without a doubt a "10". Sitting at the table, looking at the view of the beach just about 50 feet away, was absolutely wonderful.!!! Sitting out on the beach was even better (if that's possible). However, the property was in the midst of being sold and the owner was not putting any money into the property to fix things - so it had issues. The pictures that are shown for the rental make it appear to be an extremely bright cottage, but they are deceiving. It's not that bright. There were issues with the electricity. Every time I was drying my hair with my blow dryer the fuse would blow. Most of the light switches did not work. There was no vanity lights in the bathroom upstairs. Once the electricity went out one afternoon. Luckily came back on before the sun set. There is a huge step down (more like a steep drop) into the downstairs bedroom that I did not like at all. I also found the beds to be very uncomfortable but if you like a really hard mattress, you will be okay. Some of the electric sockets were an issue. Loose or not working. The washer was broken. We did like Katie, our host. Whenever we ran into an issue, I called or texted her and she responded in a reasonable time frame and was very helpful. The TV is nice and the upstairs sitting room was comfortable. The view from upstairs was beautiful.!! I think if the new owner fixes it up, it could be one amazing rental.!!

If you are looking for an affordable house, directly on the water, this is your place. The beach was great, the water was refreshing, and it was awesome to be able to walk in the house, make a daiquiri and head back in the water. There is a busy road in front of the house, but we never heard it at night or early in the morning. Restaurants and bus stops are really close, but you do have to be a little careful walking along the road, especially at dusk/night. Our host was super helpful about what bus to catch to various places. This is just our opinion: we found the beds to be very firm, linens have gotten a ton of use, and the pillows could be replaced. All of the outdoor furniture you see in the pictures are present but not quite as nice as they look in the picture. There was no umbrella, but the upper deck never got direct sun. The kitchen is equipped with very basic kitchen supplies; there was a small microwave, but no oven. This place is so close to the water that I imagine it floods in big storms. Overall, we loved our stay and would rent the house again because of its location to the beach and water. It would be awesome if things were freshened up some, a few more bed linens and some beach chairs to use and enjoy the sunset in the sand. Thanks for a great stay!

This is most of the email I sent to the office but never received a response. My wife and I travel quite a bit and understand you pay more for beach front. The beach was nice but the house really needs some work. The pictures are very misleading. -You can see the outside through the stairs. -The back door leading to the beach is very dangerous. We were told they know about it and it is going to be fixed but it is extremely hard to open and close, especially from the outside. We avoided using it as much as possible because we didn’t want it to fall and break. -The fan in the upstairs bedroom did not work, the windows don’t open and being that the ac is in the other room it was rather hot to sleep. -The house is on a very busy road; we couldn’t believe how many sirens there were daily. Not to mention the work being done next door until 11pm the first night and 1AM the second, with the workers firing up at 8am to hammer on the freshly poured concrete wall. -Our beach area was used to dig a big hole for sand next door and a crossing for a hose to fill the neighbor's pool. It felt like we were on a construction site. -Washer and dryer weren’t working so we used one property the first day and the other adjacent property prior to checking out. -We were prepared to leave at 10 at checkout time but felt pushed out at 9:30 as the cleaner was there ready to clean. -There were no beach chairs, so we bought some. -Could have used more than two bath towels. To charge what you do for this house seems excessive. Especially with the condition it is in and all that was going on next door. It would have been nice to have been for-warned about the work being done instead of just seeing if we would say anything. On a good note, we would like to say that Katie was very nice and accommodating. We appreciated her getting us access to the washer and dryers. We had been sailing for 10 days and my wife was really looking forward to some clean clothes. The house really does have potential and could be great. Being on the water is wonderful but accessing it was a struggle because of the door, there was only one chair on the back porch and no beach chairs to enjoy it.

Location of the house was awesome. Host was most accommodating and quick to respond. I ended up renting a car from the host as well. Very easy transaction and was perfect. I would recommend anyone to stay here.

This property is just downright dangerous and misrepresented on VRBO. First, the dangerous part. The back of the house facing the beach has big, beautiful windows and a sliding glass door. Unfortunately, the door doesn't close properly and one glass window is cracked. While staying at the property, these issues allowed a lot of water to flood into the house when it rained. The water then seeped into an electrical box or outlet in the floor and (I believe) caused the electricity in part of the property to go out. This caused the alarm system to not work. This is a major issue at this property as they warned us pretty emphatically that we must be vigilant in locking up the property due to the potential for break-ins (they literally have 4 locks on the front door and cameras all over). Beyond these issues, there is water damage throughout the house on the walls and ceilings from prior leaks. Lastly, upon check-in, the front door wouldn’t close properly (although this was resolved by their handyman fairly quickly). The property is also misrepresented on VRBO. It is not located near Adastra Gardens near downtown Nassau where the map on VRBO said it was located. Instead, the property is miles away from that location – it’s not even close to accurate. Even more problematic, is that where the property is actually located you cannot leave without getting a car/cab/bus because the high traffic / high-speed roadway runs within just a few feet of the property. Another misrepresentation is the amenities. The lists of amenities on VRBO are incorrect (they don't have an exercise room, fireplace, bicycles, water equipment etc). It looks like they just checked every box available for amenities. Again, just more inaccurate information that makes the property look better than it is. In my opinion, this property is not as advertised, is dangerous, and is in poor condition. The folks that managed the property asked me to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement in order to get a refund. I’m not sure why VRBO allows this (they were informed) but it suggests to me the property owners or managers are actively trying to prevent honest reviews of this property. I’ll say one good thing about the property - it is on a small but decent beach. The rest was a major disappointment.

Eventho the seas where rough in the beginning the sunset views from the balcony took that disappointment away immediately We ran into an issue but Alicia was amazing with her assistance and took great care of me during my stay.

The property was exactly what we wanted: great location, quiet and homey. Would have loved an umbrella (saw a pretty blue one in the photos but there was no umbrella on site) and beach chairs, but we made do. We took advantage of the grocery service, and it was so nice to arrive to a stocked refrigerator and pantry. Do note that groceries are pricey there, which made the service fee also quite high. We were able to catch the bus right outside the house to go to Paradise Island for a day trip and to go to restaurants. Super convenient! We had a wonderful stay.

The house was everything it was advertised to be. Step right out on the beach from the back porch. Water and beach are great with two neat snorkeling areas in swimming distance. We stayed for 4 days and enjoyed the whole time. Bianca does a great job as a host and is very nice and helpful. There was a mix-up with our reservation and Bianca was very understanding and took care of it. We would recommend this property to other families.
