Overall we loved our stay and plan to stay again in the future. For some I’m sure the location isn’t the best however for us we loved that we had practically no traffic around us at all. We’ve experienced staying on main right near the hustle and bustle in previous stays where although in walking range was quite noisy. This stay was so quite and we loved it. I’d say the only complaints we had at all was the fact the upstairs was extremely hot for those sleeping up there. It never cooled down much at all so it was as comfortable spending much time up there. Hopefully something can be done to help that. And our only other complaint was that there was black crinkly hair everywhere. Looked like animal hair but wasn’t for sure. It was however everywhere on floors furniture and even stuck to the fan blades where it fell into our meals at times. On day two we decided to vacuum every room well ourselves and that helped with that hair issue. Did we let those things ruin the stay, no! We worked around those and the house has definitely been getting updates and you can see the owners have worked hard to better the place.

Quiet place with little road traffic; screened front porch with two seating areas for socializing/eating was the go-to place in early morning and evening. Well stocked kitchen; kitchen table only able to seat 6 for meals. Little available for kids in the home compared to other rentals we have had over many years. Would have liked a binder with current local restaurant menus

The house was located in a quite neighborhood area. We enjoyed sitting on the screened in front porch and watching deer and a family of foxes playing across the street in the historic cemetery. That really was a big highlight of our stay. The foxes were adorable! We discovered that Grandma and Grandpa Beebe from the “Misty of Chincoteague” book series are buried in that cemetery, along with Paul Beebe who was one of the main characters! My youngest son really enjoyed that little piece of history because we had recently finished the first two books in the series and it was special for him to see that it was about real people who had lived on the island. The house itself was comfortable. Each of my three boys had their own room. And the WiFi worked better than our country internet, so that made them happy during down time. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and everything we needed to cook all the meals we cooked at home. We took advantage of this and got lots of fresh caught seafood and veggies at the farmers market and enjoyed many delicious seafood dinners at home. There was a drip coffee maker, a French press, a single serving Keurig machine, and an Italian espresso pot, so whatever way you like your coffee, they had you covered! We appreciated this. The home is pretty centrally located. The beach and all the attractions were just a short drive away. We enjoyed pony rides at the Pony Center, and feeding ponies in between the McDonalds and Bike Depot. We biked the nature preserve 3 or 4 times during our stay and got to see the wild ponies in their home. We rented kayaks and explored the bay one morning. We spent plenty of time at the beach, and had ice cream every night from Island Creamery or Mr. Whippy’s. We even got a chance to visit the Chincoteague Island Museum and learn a little local history. It’s a good place for a family vacation overall. The set up of the house was very inviting, and comfortable and we felt very “at home” there. We would gladly return, and hopefully will at some time in the near future. Chincoteague holds a special place in my heart.
