We were a group of twelve and I can say everyone thought this home was incredible from the moment we arrived and were welcomed by the house manager Patricia and her crew who helped unload the van to the moment she waived goodbye on our last morning. Patricia is top notch and made our visit so much better. She responds extremely quickly when you reach out and is happy to help with anything we needed. Martha's cooking was so delicious and she and her crew are so friendly. The snorkeling out front on that reef was wonderful. Lots of big fish. The resort was a fun little happy hour spot. We will most definitely be back.

Wonderful home away from the busy streets of the city. Great amenities and amazing views. Would definitely stay again!

This property is absolutely stunning. It feels like you're on a cruise ship when you're in the family/kitchen area because all you see is water. The views, stars, sunrises, and moon rises are breathtaking. There was plenty of space for 13 of us. This property is essentially a private resort; each bedroom with it's own bathroom, good size pool, and beach with hardly anyone around. Very quiet and remote. If you want a place to relax, then I highly recommend this property. Susan is the best property owner/manager that I have interacted with. Extremely helpful and engaging. It's very important to her that everyone has a great time. Carlos checks on you daily and Griselda is a fantastic cook!! There's a resort close by that makes great drinks and delicious food. We already told our oldest daughter to get married here. Let's see if we can convince her. WE CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!!!

My family (2 children aged 10 and 12) and 2 friends stayed in Casa Alvarado for 7 days and I cannot say enough good things about it. We snorkeled in the the reef right in front of our beach and saw a veritable aquarium of fish every day. Parrot fish, balloonfish, stingrays and eels to just name a few. We spent every morning paddle boarding the turquoise waters in the beautiful Sea of Cortez. The location was perfect as we could easily walk to the hotel for drinks or a meal but the entire complex of Punta Pescadero is off the beaten path and is very safe and not overdeveloped like the area around Los Cabos. At this time of year, we saw at most 8 people on the beach at any given time. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation far from the crowds and lots of water activities and potential for adventure, this is the place. If you get a chance and are in whale shark season, we recommend the 2.5 hour drive to La Paz to snorkel with whale sharks. It was an amazing opportunity and our kids cannot stop talking about it! As for the house, you will want for nothing. There are endless bottles of purified water and all the utensils and appliances to satisfy any chef. Carlos, the caretaker, came by every day to check on the pool and our needs and he is a treasure (he will always appreciate a cup of coffee in the am so please offer him a cup). :) The owner, Susan, is the nicest person and gives out very thorough information. The pool house had a ton of floats and snorkel equipment as well as water shoes for every size. Honestly, the house far exceeded our expectations. The hardest part was saying goodbye but we are already thinking about coming out again for next year’s spring break.

One of the most amazing things about this house was the owner, Susan, and how helpful she was. She kept in touch prior to our stay and by the time we got there, I felt like we were staying with family. The only somewhat negative thing about the trip was the crazy bumpy road leading to the resort area. Definitely use Octavio Cato's transportation company. They were on time and gave us lots of information about the area as we drove. We can't wait to plan our next trip here.

This is a wonderful location true to description. The kids loved the pool and we're easy to track their whereabouts. The layout of the home works well for large families. The kitchen amenities including ice machine was perfect for a large group. Sunrises followed by snorkeling, kayaking, & paddle boarding right in front was enjoyed almost daily followed by sunsets and family games The preparation emails by Susan answered all our questions and helped make us be ready to "be there". Carlos property manager was very attentive including aiding us in a rare power outage. Highly recommend a delicious cooked by Griselda meal brought in the first night and tortillas as needed. We would highly consider staying here again if returning to this area.

The views are amazing in this little piece of paradise. We had a large group and the house easily accommodated all of us. The snorkeling, pool & ocean time, ATV's and the proximity of the hotel for happy hours made this an ideal spot for a family get away! I will also comment that the owner made the trip coordination amazingly easy along with her team of locals that added to the experience! 5 stars!

My family group of 11 loved this house. There are 6 bedrooms which are spread out so everyone had privacy. The location is perfect if you want to get away from it all and enjoy the pool and beach. Quiet secluded beach- great walking and shell gathering. The owner and house staff are friendly, helpful and wonderful to work with. It is not a place to go for restaurants or night life as town is a good 1/2 hour away on a bumpy road but with small children that is not what we were looking for. The children loved the pool and the beach which is sheltered and safe for swimming all the time. Snorkling and kayaking were great. I would highly recommend this house!

My friends and I arrived in late June and stepping through the front door just took our breath away. What an amazing view and location! Carlos greeted us on arrival and was incredibly helpful throughout our stay, regularly checking in with us and helping with whatever we needed. We spent our days snorkeling, playing ping pong, paddle boarding, kayaking and lazing around the beautiful house. Octavio drove us out to Cabo for a night which was a lot of fun! At night we were treated to delicious meals from Griselda as well as some of the surrounding restaurants, with the Taco Stand and Cielito Lindo being some of our favorites. Casa Alvarado is a great place to unwind and relax with a great group of friends or family and can't wait to come back one day!

We just returned from a week at Casa Alvarado and wish we never left. The house exceeded all of our expectations. Leading up to our trip, Susan went above and beyond helping us plan everything. She provided the most gracious assistance I have ever received for a VRBO rental (and I've rented many). We arrived to a warm welcome from Carlos, the house caretaker -- a very sweet and helpful man who came by each morning to check what we needed -- ice, drinks, food, firewood for the firepit etc. The house provided plenty of room for all 10 of us adults to stretch out, find peace and relax. We each had our own bedroom/bath (very comfortable beds!) and spent a lot of time cooking and talking around the large concrete countertop in the kitchen and dancing. The beach was virtually empty so it felt like we had it to ourselves. We paddled the bay with the SUPs and kayaks and snorkeled the beautiful coral reef full of fish and even a moray eel. The day we arrived we experienced 100s of manta rays jumping and saw many whales over the course of the week. We ordered fresh cooked Mexican food from Griselda (who also cleans the house -- she brought us 2 excellent dinners), Lucy (yummy tomales & chile rellenos for lunch), Jill at Doughnation (tasty baked goods for breakfast and dessert) and Carlos fetched us some fresh locally caught red snapper that we bbq'd on the grill -- so much excellent food to be had without leaving the property! For a short getaway, some of us rented ATVs from the nearby hotel to drive the coastal dirt road to Los Barriles, a really fun town about 30min to the south (you can pay with credit card). The hotel (5 min walk from house along beach) also makes a killer margarita if you feel like "going out" for a drink at their bar. Casa Alvarado is nicely situated on the cliff to take advantage of the views and the path of the sun throughout the day providing plenty of places for shade and hanging out in the sun. The private, shaded palapa halfway down the steps to the beach was our favorite morning place to hangout and watch the sunrise. The house is remote (another reason why we love it) but no need to rent a car -- Susan hooks you up with the very reliable, Octavio. He and his drivers shuttled us from and to the airport in 1.5 hours, no sweat. All of our friends absolutely loved the house and said they would like to return some day. Hopefully soon!

Casa Alvarado is the most enchanting place I have ever visited. Tucked away amidst high cliffs on one side and a sweeping coastline on the other, it is a place where time stops and the days move slowly to the gentle rhythm of waves. We were greeted by the rising sun every morning, painting the sky with a collidasxope of reds, oranges and purples. Wales, stingrays and packs of dolphins seemed to serenade us daily. The house is spectacular and spacious with plenty of room for us to all gather together for quality time as well as retreat to peace and quiet. The main floor has wall to wall glass doors that open all the way out to a huge deck with stunning views of the ocean as far as the eyes can see. The ocean was warm and perfect for paddle boards, kayaking, snorkelling and boogie boarding. The only problem was trying to get the kids to come out of the water at night. Susan, the owner, is an outstanding lady who helped every step of the way. We had some of our meals catered and they were delicious authentic Mexican meals. Carlos the caretaker made every single one of our wishes come true. There is nothing Carlos can not do. We rented ATVs which we drove into town on a few occasions, we went chartered fishing and caught a large Mahi Mahi which we barbecued for dinner and we ended our days surrounding a fire and the most amazing light show of starts. There is a sense of richness that surrounds this magical place. I truly feel like we were privy to a secret place that makes everyone who visits come alive with wonder and a deep appreciation for life.

This was the perfect location for my husbands 40th birthday celebration. We had a large group of 6 families and the house was laid out perfectly for everyone to have their own space, including private bathrooms attached to each room/casita. The house "staff" Carlos and Griselda were so gracious and helpful and made each day easy for us. From taking care of basic house chores/room cleaning, laundry, cooking (on request-additional cost), to arranging fishing or private massages, our group was very well taken care of. The location is slightly remote but well worth the 90 minute journey from SJD airport. The beautiful, secluded beachfront with amazing coral reefs was perfect for snorkeling, swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking (all equipment included!). The pool was an excellent addition and was just what the younger, inexperienced swimmers needed. The patio overlooks the ocean which was the perfect place to watch the sun and moon rises, which were spectacular. The owner, Susan, is a dream to work with as she is so kind and wants to ensure that every detail is arranged to your liking. The Guest Information packet they have put together rivals any fancy resort guide I've ever seen! We ❤️ Casa Alvarado!

While recovering from Achilles surgery, I had plenty of time to search the web for the right place to gather the family (18 total ranging from 1.5 to 72 years of age). Eventually I settled on Casa Alvarado, which wasn't just the "right" place, it was the "perfect" place. With six bedrooms each with its own bath and entrance, coming an going was easy. Better yet the pool (make sure you organize a game of pool volley ball using the beach ball), ping pong table, snorkeling, paddle boarding, kayaking, sea turtle watching, and even puzzling (Casa Alvarado even has puzzle "platters" so you can remove them from the huge dining table) meant we could each do our thing or join in many group activities. Perhaps even better than our time at Casa Alvarado, Susan, one of the owners, has become good friend via the internet. Now we look forward to a return visit to Casa Alvarado and to meeting Susan. Incredible isn't a big enough word to describe Casa Alvarado. This place is simply amazing! The pictures do not do the home justice. I can honestly say I have never had such a comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable vacation. The owners are wonderful and really have thought of everything needed to make the home feel like a home. All the conveniences are there....and so much more. There were 12 of us during our 9 day stay...4 adults and 8 teenagers, and we never felt crowded....and certainly never bored. Between the snorkeling, paddle boarding, kayaking, shell collecting, swimming, playing board & card games, doing puzzles, and simply relaxing there was something for every one....every day. We never even needed to leave the property. The snorkeling right outside your back door is so convenient. The water is clear and there were so many beautiful, colorful fish to see. We snorkeled for hours. The kids spent a lot of time in the kayaks tooling in and out of the rocks and just exploring the waters. We essentially had our own private beach. Carlos & Griselda were amazing...and so nice. Carlos came by every day to check on us. He brought us bottled water if we were running low, bags of ice for our drinks, he scheduled our catered meals, fishing trips, cooking classes, etc. Griselda kept the home clean and OH MY GRACIOUS! her cooking is amazing. I highly recommend having her cater some (or all) of your meals. The price is so reasonable especially considering we always had left overs for the next day. Griselda taught us how to cook some amazing authentic Mexican dishes. We all had so much fun laughing and learning. I can not say enough nice things about our stay at Casa Alvarado. Everything absolutely exceeded our expectations in every way possible. We were so sad to leave and are already talking about our next visit. We can't wait to come back.

We had a wonderfully awesome time! Casa Alvarado was as beautiful as the pictures and videos showed. The teenagers and adults all had a blast kyaking, snorkeling paddle boarding, boogie boarding, swimming and riding the ATV's. We met and made friends with some home owners and other visitors. The weather was really hot some days, but still had a nice breeze to cool down. The water was great, although a little colder than I thought. We acclaimated to it quickly and it was a nice cool down from the sun. All the guys went deep sea fishing and had some bites from marlin and sharks. We saw rays and sea lions. I have never had so many things to do and see all in one place. We went to town quite often after conquering our fear of the unpaved roads, but that's what made it adventurous. Carlos was great and always there when we needed him. He is such a nice man. We ordered dinner from Griselda one evening and that was good too. I would order from her the first day as you really don't want to cook when you get there, you just want to take everything in and enjoy. The owner is super great in giving details of everything you need to know and following up. Read all info the owner gives ahead of time as it will help you greatly. Loved it!

Casa Alvarado is situated in a fabulous location. The views are stunning and offered from all levels of the property. What did I enjoy most about the stay? The beautiful pool? The cabana where filtered light creates a relaxed mood? The enormous patio where you can sit and watch the sun rise or oversee all the activities going on around you? The hammock for a lazy afternoon snooze? How you are only steps from the beach and beautiful sea life? It's too difficult to choose just one. If margaritas are your thing and you'd enjoy delicious guacamole, salsa and corn chips at sunset then don't hesitate to take advantage of the catering on offer. The spacious kitchen / dining / lounge area became a core "meeting" place for the 12 of us as we enjoyed this stunning property. Cool breezes were welcome throughout the house on warm days and the air conditioned casitas offered privacy from the main house. The house is well equipped and we didn't want for anything whether the urge was to frappe a cocktail or cook an omelette! Facilities are modern and great quality. The views are stunning and the ambience is relaxed and welcoming. All comforts are considered - read soft towels, comfortable beds, great bathrooms, relaxing sun lounges, snorkelling/paddling equipment, ample refrigeration and washing facilities. Bookshelves contain light reading should you want to switch off technology (not that you need to as wifi is offered throughout the property) Whilst we didn't take advantage of the fire pit I could imagine a evening spent around that after a fun day in the sun too. I thoroughly recommend you spend time at Casa Alvarado and look forward to a return trip myself. It was certainly worth the trek from Australia!

We feel so blessed to have discovered Casa Alvarado in the sea of Baja rentals. From the moment we began communicating with the amazing homeowners, we knew we had found the perfect location for our small family wedding. The whole planning process was totally seamless- they went above and beyond all of our expectations. We are eternally grateful for all the care, concern & energy the team devoted to making our wedding a wonderful success! Casa Alvarado is an gorgeous property in an absolutely stunning location- 1st step inside the living room is breathtaking-better than the pictures! Loved the decor-lots of white with gorgeous punches of vibrant patterns & colors. 18 guests (16 adults & 2 kids)- plenty of room for everyone! The house is fully stocked with everything you could think of or possibly want at a vacation house - all the comforts of a home. Oh man.. outside- Whales, birds, turquoise Sea of Cortez, sunrises, fish- it’s a natural paradise! We enjoyed perfect weather during our stay and the SUPs, scuba gear, and kayaks were in constant rotation. You can be as active or relaxed as you want- a destination to really unplug, recharge, & connect with one another.  When we told someone in Cabo where we had just gotten married he replied “That place is good for your soul!” YUP- Basically.  The property manager is a treasure of human being & the perfect ambassador for Casa Alvarado: so helpful in countless ways during the celebration and throughout our stay...a really kind soul. The homeowners & his enthusiasm about sharing their beautiful slice of the world with guests is infectious. His daughter is a fantastic chef who prepared the delicious wedding feast! The team did so much to help with all the details- decorating, bartending & Mariachi band etc! The Palo De Arco looked absolutely gorgeous with our decor hanging from it and we also took advantage of the awesome fire pit for our after-party. Used the recommended transportation service to and from SJD for some of our guests and also rented a car. Expecting the road to be so much worst than it turned out to be- a bumpy 30mins but beautiful drive. Don’t let the drive deter you from visiting-You can do it! Casa Alvarado is a very special place owned & operated by a group of very special people who are so invested in you enjoying your stay! We are so fortunate that your family shared your beautiful home with us for our wedding celebration and we look forward to coming back someday soon!

11 of us shared this lovely home - 5 couples and a single. The location is absolutely stunning and definitely worth the drive over the crazy, rough roads. We totally enjoyed the beach access and our ability to see whales and jumping mobula rays from the patio. It had everything we could possibly have needed from the well-appointed kitchen to all the water toys (kayaks, paddleboards, boogie boards, and snorkeling gear. And there were even water shoes and yoga mats! And, when one got tired of salt water, there was always the spotless swimming pool, as well as a good assortment of board games. Carlos, the property manager, was an absolute delight, as was his daughter, Griselda, who came in every day to clean. We appreciated Carlos' checking on us regularly and bringing us fresh bottled water every morning. It is a place to totally relax or be as active as one wants. The proximity to Los Barriles and smaller villages was all we needed as far as civilization is concerned. If you want a good breakfast or lunch close by, there is a tiny cafe at the little market in Las Tinas, less than two miles to the north. We are all thinking we should make this a yearly destination!

From the time our group of 10 arrived until the minute we left, we realized we were in paradise. We were met by Carlos, the property manager with a big smile at the front gate. What a gracious and lovely family. The meal prepared by Griselda and staff that first night was incredible. We were provided with a shopping list which was totally adequate. The whole week was probably the most relaxing and enjoyable time we've ever had and we've been all over the world. The home and adjoining casitas were perfect for our needs and then some. The views were magnificent. I wish we were still there. I will go back and have recommended it to lots of folks. On a personal note, I left my cell phone in the bathroom just before we left. Carlos found it and sent it back to me via Australia/California I think. What a lovely gesture.
