This is a very well appointed 4 bedroom apartment with a balcony with ocean views. We loved drinking our coffee on the balcony or taking it on a short walk to the end of the pier right at the end of the block. The bedrooms are separated well, offering privacy to get work done, etc. The place is a short walk from Asbury Park. We walked down to listen to summer stage and get ice cream… and dinner…. or, our favorite, Ralph’s Italian Ice!! We had a great week and would definitely rent again.

I stayed at Carls place in ocean grove and it could not have gone more smoothly than it did! Not only is the house steps away from the beach, Carl made sure to provide beach badges as well! My friends and I didn’t even take a car as everything we wanted to go to was a short walk over to asbury park or Avon by the sea or a quick Uber drive to manasquan! The house was perfectly set up and had everything needed for a great weekend! Thanks again Carl and looking forward to scheduling my next stay with you!

Location made it all worth it.

While the house has a great location one block from the beach and the host was courteous and communicative, we left feeling a bit disappointed about the accommodations overall. We understand and appreciate a historic home, but there were just some aspects that were overlooked and needed more care. For example, the master bathroom shower was missing a shower head, making it just a pipe coming out of a wall. Apparently this was something the host was aware of and "waiting for a part," but shower heads are easily accessible at any hardware store. Several light bulbs around the house were out completely and the rooms in this place are DARK. The lighting overall was depressing. One of the two fans in the living room didn't work. The other fan, while it had a light, was simply a light bulb just completely exposed. There were also a bunch of cigarette butts in the dead plant on the front sitting porch and we ended up blowing fuses multiple times throughout the trip by just using everyday items. If you don't plan on spending a lot of time at the house, this is all probably fine, but with young children and being mostly home in the evenings we were disappointed. Additional positives include: bookshelf with games and kids books/coloring books, Netflix, front sitting porch with views of ocean, laundry room.

All was good. Musty smell only in upper kids bedroom. Downstairs toilet needed repair but was too recent.
