helpful staff and nice villa

The property is 5mins from the air strip and a 2 mins walk to the beach and less than a minute walk to the Ali Barbour’s cave restaurant. I love the proximity to the shopping center as well and you have access to the beach easily. Their is also security and situated in a serene quiet environment with trees and vegetation so you get the cool coastal air as you relax outdoors. Amazing place!

Their is absolutely nothing not to like

The pictures don’t do this place justice- Dario’s place is a so beautiful, well maintained and tastefully decorated. Very peaceful and quiet. Lonah the chef is brilliant and her prices are fair. Faith was also SO helpful and so so lovely. Dario is also very helpful and answered all my questions in advance. I can’t wait to come back again!

The house rules are not Darios - the villa is located within a set of other villas under different management. So if you are booking please be aware that music and loud noise is not allowed and no external guests (which I didn’t mind because this place is worth it). If you want to come back feeling rejuvenated, this is the place for you.

From the moment our booking was confirmed, we were received with kindness that knows no bounds. Dario is a nice person with a genuine interest in his clients' comfort. The house is exactly as advertised, and more. Kitu kidogo house is richly decorated with authentic Swahili furniture and all sorts of amenities. There is a wonderful swimming pool that lights up at night, a complete kitchen ( equipped to a tee, even with spices available for cooking!).The air conditioning is reliable and efficient. The WiFi is excellent. The environment is peaceful. Location is just perfect, with a private route to the beach that will only take you 5minutes, and a 10minute walk to the shopping centre. The area is safe and easily accessible. Dario and his team were responsive, respectful and helpful. They allowed us to drop off our luggage as we waited for check-in time, they even arranged for a taxi to the airstrip at a fair price! If this listing is available, I advise you to book it immediately. You will not regret it.

If you're looking to host parties or something, it is not the place for you. Silence is encouraged. This was a plus for my partner and I. We recommend the place for families or couples looking to have an intimate experience. We cannot wait for our return.

Everything was perfect. Faith kept in constant contact before our arrival and was there to meet us. Everyone that worked here are so so lovely. From the security guys, gardener and house keeping. We loved every minute here. Book it. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Faith for all your help, and Dario for letting us have this amazing place for 5 days.

It is well designed in a quiet and relaxed neighbourhood. The staff are offer great hospitality. The grounds are well kept. There is a private beach. You can cater for yourself and the shopping centres are not far away. It is a marvellous getaway spot.

Gorgeous and quiet place to relax, very kind and helpful staff. The private pool is a big bonus. I would have loved to extend my stay for an extra week, but the place was booked, so Dario was so kind and arranged for me another place for the time afterwards. Thanks a lot for that! Faith took very good care of everything needed, she was always available for questions and getting information. You can tell when you wish the housekeeping to be done. We booked the private chef Lona for lunch and dinner, it was awesome!

the property itself is beautiful and it’s in a great location.

After our group (two couples) stayed for one night we decided to leave the cottage. While the chefs meals were outstanding and the space had quite the beautiful potential, it did not meet our expectations. When we first arrived late we walked into a space that wasn’t fully cleaned and we noticed some large bugs including a roach. We also noticed the wifi was not working and when we told someone the next morning no one followed up to fix it. Lastly, we worried about security seeing as how people kept coming in and out of our space unannounced. Again the place has quite the potential and I do thank the person who helped sort logistics for all the work they put into organizing but we did not feel comfortable staying for our full three nights given these reasons. I reached out to them with these complaints asking for a refund for the two nights we didn’t stay but they said they would not issue it and we could go back to the space if we wanted. For us, peace of mind was more important- but we wanted people to be aware of our experience. trust me, you can find a place for equal $$ for much more value.

The cottage was perfect. AC rooms. Kitchen appliances were adequate. Utensils, pots and pans less so. Not the best to cook with. Only 1 wine glass. Corkscrew broken. Chef 1 was a big disappointment. Food preparation not up to standard. The she called in sick. Had to scramble for replacement. Not available full time. Total disappointment. Also cleaning staff took 1 day off. Fully serviced not so any more

The home is in a serene place close to the beach and town and also very close to the famous Ali barbours restaurant. The host Faith was exceptionally helpful and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. Most importantly the house looked just as the pictures. Would definitely recommend the place as it's great value for money.

Very friendly and honest staff. They will get you everything at fair prices (which is rare in this country) e.g. they get you the best taxi. If you ask the staff for help, they will try to make anything possible. Villa is beautiful and clean. It is the perfect place for people who like privacy and quietness. Beautiful garden area. It is 24/7 guarded. The beach is very close.

It’s not their fault, as we humans live in the monkeys environment. The monkeys are very cute until they see food, that’s when they turn naughty. They can sometimes open the monkey nets and eating outside can be a challenge - they come close to you and will steal food out of your plate while eating. It’s hard to fight them off unless you have stick ready or something like that.

It's a fantastic private cottage, the facilities are great, the house is beautiful. We really enjoyed private swimming pool and terrace where sometimes monkeys were coming when we had breakfast. There is Netflix ion the TV. Faith, the hostess, was super helpful and helped us to organize few tours around for the best price. Dario, the owner, helped us to get train tickets. Overall, amazing service, amazing place, if it's available at the dates when you stay at Diani, don't wait, just book it!

In the back of the house there is a pump or something like this that goes on every 2 min and makes quite some noise. One of the bedrooms is adjacent to this pump, for us it was quite noisy, so we moved to another bedroom the following night. It also would be great to have a big tank of drinking water, most other places in Diani are providing drinking water. You can get water in the supermarket, but it's quite far. Beach is around 10 min walking, was not a problem for us, but some may find it a bit far.

Just one word to describe the place: awesome ! Dario, the Italian owner, made this place look like heaven. You can see the italian twist in every detail. Bravo ! The staff taking care of the place is very friendly. Faith, the lady who welcomes you the moment you arrive , is highly professional and makes you feel at home immediately. She can arrange anything, like laundry, homecook,…. She is like your personal secretary. So don’t spread the word too much, because this place should stay a hidden gem !

Beware of the monkeys in the garden. Keep doors always closed. They try to come inside to steal fruit & food.

Stayed 1st April -15th April 2022 Everything....this place exceeding expectations...the photos are spot and then some...if you come across this please book it....you will not be disappointed...Dario the owner kept in contact with us and made us feel so welcome and at home....and his staff was exceptionally accommodating...Faith...for going above and beyond to meet our needs....you are a diamond in the rough....Mary for housekeeping change of beds and fresh towels everyday...amazing and Justin for keeping the pool and poolside spotless... the A team...l usually do not go back to a place twice however l reserved my dates for next year....what a find not to mention there is security day and night and so private you are in your own little Eden...l highly recommend for couples who want a quiet setting and romantic getaway....

Management and staff are really professional and customer oriented. The cottage is well built and kept, with the precious help of Faith and rest of the personal. Best solution for anybody's looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway in a classy accommodation. Everything is provided with the house and in case of need you'll receive all the necessary support. 150 mt from a stunning beach and ocean. The private pool is definitely a huge plus.

Basically nothing, but the accommodation is warmly recommended to who is looking for silence and peace but as well obviously you will be required to bring the same to the neighbour villas.

The location was very ideal, walking distance to the beach and also within close proximity to the bars, cafes and supermarkets. The members of staff were also quite helpful.

No music allowed on the property and you couldn't have guests visit.

The staffs are really welcoming, nice and also willing to help. The property is clean with virtually with every facility needed.…it’s got a great outdoor too…the pictures did not do the justification for the property.Great location as well

If you come across this and considering a stay. BOOK IT without thinking twice! We completely loved the stay and couldn't have asked more of a host and property. Pictures do not do it justice, it looks even more amazing in person,private and well maintained.The house is beautifully made. Every important landmark is walking distance, especially to the beach so you barely need a ride too. please note: you will need to avoid playing music with speakers,or any noise in general Will be back.
