superb lagoon, so much quieter than blue lagoon. expensive, but great breakfast and lagoon made it the high point of our stay in Iceland.

The whole experience was absolutely amazing. Well worth the money spent.
That the restaurant wasn't in the same building

This hotel is such a gem for anyone who is willing to spend a considerable amount of money on a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Both the hotel's common areas and rooms are beautiful and modern, but I'd say the real appeal is the fact that this hotel has a private Blue Lagoon! I can't recommend this enough for people looking for a unique Blue Lagoon experience. Plus every guest gets a complimentary entry to the public Blue Lagoon, which adds great value to the price of the stay.
The views from the Hotel are absolutely unique, facing either the lava fields or the private Blue Lagoon. The breakfast was delicious and eating it with views to the Lagoon has become a memory for life.
The tv in the room didn't seem to work so well, having just one channel and no access to Youtube or anything else.

the luxurious access to the blue lagoon! we had it all to ourselves! instead of going to the public one. the room were specious and the shuttle service to retreat hotel was complementary.

Hotel was very friendly and accommodating, including early check in and take away breakfast for a 4am flight. The facility is first class and beautiful, you get all the beauty of the Icelandic landscape from all angles. Staff are friendly and diverse!

Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Loved the blue lagoon. Had a relaxing time at the Silica. Would recommend to friends and would stay again.

all round it was a great stay, we loved the peaceful tranquility of the hotel.
just two points:-
we thought we would be allowed to book treatments, I was even sent a list of treatments we could book, when at the hotel we were told we could not book as we had not taken an upgrade. when we visited The Retreat spa it was full of people who had booked days at the spa and were not residents at either hotel. that is wrong.
When I booked I was told we could use the Spa Restaurant, however when we arrived and asked if we could ensure there was a table booked for us for lunch, we were told we could not use the Spa Restaurant.
The staff could not explain why in either of the above cases, however on pressing hard we got them to resurveys lunchtime table at the Spa. all through the booking and whilst at the hotel there was a very confusing message, and to see day trippers being given priority over guests seemed just wrong.

The variety was perfect and couldn’t have asked for anything more.
They could have had a small cafe open during the rest of the day for those that did not want to go to the restaurant at the blue lagoon. Or there should be some kind of extra food service for those who would like to stay in for the night.

Honestly, every aspect of this property was spot on and I have no complaints! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for this experience while in Iceland, you won't regret it and will only add more memories.

Very beautiful property built right in the lava field. Each nights stay includes an entry for Blue Lagoon for each guest, but he the thermal bath at Silica is much nicer. Very nice breakfast buffet, welcome drinks were a nice touch. Each room has a nice little patio right on the lava field.
Limited dining choices, but as this is a small intimate property it was not really an issue. Only 10 minutes from several really good restaurants and stores in Grindavik.

food was great but not enough options

Incredible! price was 5x more then I have ever spent on a single night and I was worried it was just expensive because of the lagoon, but this was so wrong. You were pampered and treated with respect the entire time by the staff. Multiple welcome drink of your choosing, robes, slippers and the breakfast was truly great compared to the normal. The lounge area in the hotel was extremly cozy with comfy chairs and blankets to look at the private lagoon, mountains and moss covered volcanic landscape. The private lagoon was multiple times better then the main blue lagoon with a private bar and it was a lot larger then I expected and felt very private. Honestly was a great stay and If you plan on going to the blue lagoon twice the room almost pays for itself.
The hotel is situtaed away from the main lagoon so it is very private and they have a on demand taxi to move you between the blue lagoon and the hotel (2min drive)
If your planning a trip to the blue lagoon staying here is a must if you can afford it. It was really the highlight of our honeymoon in Iceland and I have "No Ragrets" ;)

+ Staff was friendly and helpful.
+ Room was clean and comfortable with Blue Lagoon toiletries.
- Breakfast with very few options for breakfast.
- The options in the gastropub available for lunch were not as advertised, they were some sandwichs or salads from supermarket in a fridge and not tasty at all. Given that the hotel is in an isolated location, better options should be offered.
- Lava restaurant is in the other hotel but they have a shuttle that takes you there (and back) in a few minutes.
I was expecting much more for the price and a 4 star hotel, you only pay for the access to the lagoons, hotel facilities don't worth the money.

Exceptional hotel in a must-do Icelanding landmark. Staying at the hotel also grants a couple of free masks and a free drink at the public Blue Lagoon, which is always nice. They also have a Northern Light alarm call that you can sign up for where they call you if northern lights are active and visible at night
Very expensive and the rooms are not exactlty sound-proof. You might hear your friendly and active neighbours and you will hear whatever is going on in the corridor
