The view of the sea from multiple balconies was spectacular. Easy check in, spacious, short walk to many restaurants, and the music from the neighboring beach club was actually a nice addition (only heard it from the balcony, not the bedrooms). A couple of cons about the area—first time in Playa Del Carmen and they built very close to shore line so not my favorite walking beach; very crowded on the weekend; condo is fixing a walkway in front of the pool so there is some unattractive tape in front of the view between the pool and sea.

This condo is right next to a beach bar. The music can get a little loud of an evening, but it didn't bother us. It didn't impact our ability to go to sleep. If you wanted a very quite place, this condo might not be for you.
The beach and pool were great! We didn't have a car and it worked out fine. We could walk the 4-5 blocks to Wal-Mart and then took a 100 peso cab back to the condo. There's a cab stand with posted prices (a little high but at least posted) which was nice.
The TV in the living room was a smart TV and it was great that we could easily watch Netflix and other things.
I would definitely go back.

Overall, we had a wonderful time, it is unfortunate that there is so much seaweed on the beach, but there is not much to do about that. We ended up not getting the room reserved due to electrical issues and the new room had its own issues resulting in the need to work with management continually. They were responsive and seemed to do their best, but it was disappointing.

This location is amazing. The grounds, pool, and property were immaculate. Everyone who works on site was so nice and professional.
The condo was perfect for our family. We were able to grocery shop just 5 blocks away at Walmart and use the kitchen for breakfasts and snacks and mixing cocktails.
Our views were insane. Watching the sunrise every morning from our deck with coffee in hand and hearing the waves crash on the beach was awesome.
The management team and staff were 5 star.

It has a very nice pool and attendant gets you umbrella as soon as you get there.

The sargassum was pretty bad but that is not the property’s fault.
Please note that there is not much of a beach in this area.
The people we dealt with at check in and also through email were amazing.

We had everything we needed. Location and view were great. It has a nice pool. Great amenities for a condo. The sargassum was pretty bad but that is not the property’s fault. To my surprise the smell was not that bad. Please note that there is not much of a beach in this area. Not sure if it was due to a hurricane/storm. You have to walk past Hilton resort, almost to the Mahekal resort for a nice beach area. Or you can walk towards the ferry side. Security at the condo is great. The people we dealt with at check in and also through email were amazing. I will definitely stay here again.

So overall value of this stay was very high. Two full 3rd floor balcony views of the Ocean would cost you $500 a night at any hotel. Its a condo , that apparently is currently for sale; so I'd guess owners are upside down and are looking to re-cover money anyway possible. Pros...

Cons:
-Stove is junk. Buttons so worn out you cant even read them. We didn't use, so no big deal to me.....
-Things are needing a little TLC. Handyman could have place whipped back into shape in a week, if owners would just do it. Just little things.... paint, patching, loose tiles.
-Only 2 guests allowed .....(although after 9, front desk folks are nowhere to be found; so not sure how they'd police that)
-There's a bar next door that rocks pretty good on weekends... until midnight. then things settle down. -if you're a night owl.... that wouldn't matter, but if you go to bed at 8..... might be an issue.
-Furniture a bit worn out. Indoor and outdoor. Trip to Ikea would do wonders.
-Some Excusions in the area dont "recognize" Residences El Faro

I was really happy with the location of the condo, so close no rental car needed. Kids loved the pool. Everything nice and clean. Provided lots of extra blankets and pillows. Very happy with my stay!

El Faro is located in a great location that is close to the beach and close to 5th Street. The El Faro pool is the best on the beach! What a great setup. The El Faro staff were very accommodating and helpful. El Faro is a mere 10 min walk to Walmart (it has everything!) to get what you need if tired of eating out (which can get expensive if you stick around the 5th Street area). The suite outdoor area is great for morning sun, evening sun or getting out of the wind depending on which way it blows. The beds were comfortable. Kitchen well stocked. One thing that could use a refresh is the couch...Not all that comfortable. Would stay again in the suite for sure.

This Playa del Carmen condo is perfect in every way - location, accommodations, cleanliness, property manager, etc. The pictures are true representations of the property. Checkin was seamless, The only problem was with the air conditioner in the master bedroom leaking but that was quickly resolved by Five Star Properties. It was so nice having the two bedrooms and 2-1/2 baths and the washer and dryer. Being only one block from Avenida Quinta was perfect too. The restaurant next store was nice to have and the music at night was not bothersome as when doors were closed you couldn’t hear it unless you wanted. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need. There were plenty of towels for the pool. The wrap around deck was used a lot. We had breakfast every morning on the deck with the table overlooking the pool and happy hour on the deck with the love seat and chairs. This unit was perfect for me and my two adult daughters.

Good checkin and communication with property management. The location is excellent being a short walk to restaurants and bars. The best thing about the unit is that it is right on the beach and has a terrific wrap around balcony. The pool is also very good. We didn’t spend any time in the unit except for sleeping. The beds were just ok. Would have liked a queen size instead of the full size in the master bedroom.

Location is great, layout is great, staff is great. The couches and mattresses are really in need of replacement. They are really worn out. While the bedding seemed clean, they were really stained, looked like they had just come from good will. It would be nice if the outdoor furniture matched the photos. Only half of the furniture had cushions, so it was uncomfortable to sit out there. Things the owner can't really do anything about is that there are 4 buildings here and only enough for less than 100 people to have chairs at the pool. You need at be there before 8:00 to save a spot or you will not be at the pool. The beach is being eroded so it is very small. This trip that was really not an issue because of all the seaweed that was washing up every day and having to deal with the workers cleaning it up, the tractors staging it just outside the condo and the smell of the seaweed. Overall a nice place but needs to be updated.

The deck and view are the best from this condo. Yes, you do have direct view and music from the beach bar next door at night however the windows and doors are built well to dampen the music at night. The unit is nice and the beds are just comfortable enough for a few days but maybe not much longer. We went to the beach on our first day and had a small amount of sand on us so we requested in writing 2 times for some type of broom and dust pan which was not in the unit. 5 star property management said they would bring it but never did I think they need to change their name! We had two little ones when we arrived and they wouldn’t let us check in even 30 minutes earlier so the babies could have a nap which we thought was petty as the unit was already ready! Take your broom, don’t come early, put your food up at night or you will have ants if you don’t and you will have a good time. Note so much seaweed right now but they have no control of this!

We thoroughly enjoyed the sunrises seeing the ocean, clouds, palm trees and the beach while drinking our own brewed coffee all this from our deck, which deck you dwasecide!. The bar next door had a live band so one night we decided to check it out. Salsa dancing on the beach, with fire dancers incredible. We were not really looking for paradise but we all thought we found it.

This view is absolutely amazing! Can't beat the wrap around terrace. Very spacious condo. My family loved this place.
I would definitely book this place again. Highly recommended.

I give this five stars the deck and hot tub are just fabulous. The rooms and the condo are furnished great and had everything we needed. What is in the middle of downtown Playa Carmen so there are restaurants everywhere including right next door that also has American sports aren’t their TVs . Next time I am in Playa i will definitely going to rent the same unit

We picked this location because the closeness from Playa del Carmen / Xcaret, but it was perfect and we felt it was too short because we did not have the chance to enjoyed it as much as we wanted it to.

First time in Playa Del Carmen and was beyond pleased with our pick for accommodations, location, a d amenities. Spacious 2 bedroom and 2 and half baths with washer dryer was perfect for 20th anniversary trip where we brought our 2 grown kids with us. We
Couldn’t have picked a better unit, the views were amazing. Location was close to all the action of 5th street with restaurants, shops and night life but can go back to the quiet condo. Condo was safe and clean and front desk helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Great place, not so great service
The condo is great. The view is amazing. The problem was with the maid service. Upon checkin we did not have any wash cloths, hand towels, bathmats, kitchen towels or rags. More than halfway through our trip we finally got some. I had a friend bring some over to use until then. Also, the maid was supposed to come every day to empty trash and replace water jugs, and every other day to mop and clean. She came a total of 3 times during our stay, mopped once. Kitchen garbage overflowing. We had to buy our own water jugs twice because they never replaced them. The emptys were taken, but not replaced until I emailed. Also there were so so many tiny little bugs. We left a plate of bacon on the end table and it was absolutely COVERED in these little mite-like insects. It looked like the plate was moving. Gross.

The rug in the master bed room is a tripping hazard. It doesn't have a stabilizer so it would buckle in the middle and I would trip daily on it.- not fun. The bench seat outside is broken so only one person can sit in it -carefully.. One of the mattresses in the first bedroom was so uncomfortable- my friend said she could feel the springs through the mattress- that she had to sleep out on the couch in the living room. On a good note- plenty of water was provided and the staff was very attentive. . The TV in the master bedroom unfortunately is directly linked to the tv in the living room so there is only one channel to watch at a time. . The couch in the living room was uncomfortable to sit on - it has seen better days. You can feel the bones of the couch - especially the part near the window. Amazing views! I wish the jacuzzi worked

This is a great condo at the perfect complex location, El Faro. The views are amazing!!! Very close the beachfront restaurants & lots of shopping and bars on 5th Avenue. The property manager was very responsive- we couldn’t get our safe open and she came and helped us in 5 min. I would definitely come back & it was another great stay at El Faro!

This is a great condo at the perfect complex location, El Faro. The views are amazing!!! Very close the beachfront restaurants & lots of shopping and bars on 5th Avenue. Great place and a bit short on communication
The place was great. Unfortunately, a few days before departure we were told the unit we had booked (the third floor with huge veiw) was too noisy bc of construction above. So we were given the choice to deal with noise or choose an inferior unit. We went with the inferior unit. Which was fine. Not the view or the bedroom make up we booked. But fine.
OTher than that with some communication problems with the front desk, everything was nice. The location is great. RIGHT in the middle of things but quiet and the pool and beach were quite stunning.

Obviously the seaweed is a problem right now, but they are working hard on managing it. Nothing they can do till it stops washing up.

Great Time, Great Location
This place is great. The views are amazing. The location is amazing. The pool was fantastic. The Unit was perfect for us. The only thing I thought wasn't great was check in. Check in is super late and they don't budge at all. When you fly all day you just want to be able to check in. I think check in should be 2pm. I also think the unit should have some basics like salt, pepper and maybe some cooking oil. Those are things we don't think about when we go to the store and it would have been nice to have those small items. Overall our trip was awesome!
