From the moment we pulled up we knew we booked the best place! The house was beautiful, the property was breathtaking. Laurie was very accommodating and answered all of our questions. The house was tastefully decorated and super spotless! The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals and very spacious. Our only regret was that we didn’t take advantage of the beautiful dock and the kayaks. Definitely will come back again!

The house is beautiful an very clean with extra blankets an pillows which was great. The kitchen is well stocked for you to cook anything an everything. We really appreciated being able to check in early an Laurie was great with any questions or problems I may have had.

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay. The house was beautifully furnished and very homey. Loved the dock and boathouse and sunrise on the water was just lovely. Would love to come for a longer stay.

Best of everything! Great property and Laurie was great about everything! The property had everything we needed and more. House was in between the French Quarter and easy access to food and everything.

We had an amazing time! What a relaxing location this was! Laurie was an amazing host who offers all the needed amenities. We felt right at home. Perfectly located between New Orleans and Slidell we had access to anything we wanted to do while being away from it all and able to relax in the sun and breeze. My kids caught crabs off the dock and even took a fishing charter with Captain Dudley and caught so many fish we had to fly them home. Thank you, Laurie, for sharing your perfect home with us. We are busy telling all of our friends to come do the same!

This property was amazing. From the stock of supplies all the way down to fishing poles to the overall property. My sons had an amazing time fishing. They are usually “gamers” but they woke up fishing and went to bed fishing. My only wish would have been a fire pit but overall we will definitely come back.

The location was great . The camp was clean. The accommodations were perfect for this little trip. Everyone had fun. Other than the cold, rainy weather, it was worth the get away. We’d book this place again.

From day 1 the communication was awesome. Laurie let us know what to expect as far as what was stocked, and all she provided so we didn't have to worry about stopping at the store after our long flight. Best stocked house by far. The house is beautiful, the dock and pier is where we spent a lot of time, just perfect. We happened to be there when New Orleans got hit by 2 tornados (17 miles away from us) but the storm itself was pretty intense. Laurie checked on us to make sure we were OK during the storm, I thought that was so sweet. Lots to do in New Orleans, fishing charters in Vience too. If you want to relax and just fish and crab off the dock at the house, this place is amazing. You will not be disappointed! Loved it!

We spent thanksgiving at the house, and completely enjoyed ourselves. The house was very well decorated and appointed. The deck and pier were favorites where we talked and gazed out into the lake, taking in beautiful scenery and sunsets. Close to New Orleans and Slidel, but far enough away for peace and quiet.

Amenities galore, complementary local treats, very clean, everything for cooking, beautiful locale, many outdoor activities, hammock swings, everything you need for fishing, kayaking, We even caught and ate a crab!

We stayed for a week at the property, which was well stocked with essential items such as soap and toilet paper as well as an array of fishing supplies. When we arrived, there was even a gift basket of goodies waiting for us! The location was gorgeous and we enjoyed watching the sunrise over the lake. The provided guest book with restaurant information and recommendations was also very helpful. There was excellent communication between the host and us as well. 100% would recommend staying here again!

As indicated by all the glowing 5 star reviews prior to our stay, this property, and Laurie the host, delivered on all points. The most incredibly stocked rental I’ve experienced. (and I’ve done many). A First Class operation that will not disappoint. Thank you Laurie! My family loved it!!!!!!

The house was better than the listing description! Because of the location sitting on the back porch you really feel like you’re the only people on the lake. Everything was spotless clean and it was very relaxing to sit on the back porch and watch the sunrise over the water in the morning. My family had a great time especially my son who fished almost every day. Thanks again Laurie we look forward to staying there again.

We couldn’t have asked for anything better. We did several excursions to check out local attractions but could have stayed on the property and been just as happy. Between fishing, kayaking and relaxing on the dock we were able to relax and enjoy the company.

I cannot say enough things about this property. It is beautiful! The host was very quick to answer any questions we had and made recommendations but it turns out she even thought of those questions in the welcome book!
The house is quiet and the views are spectacular. The gentle sway of the house lulls you to sleep. The wildlife was alive and well. We caught so many large size crabs and several meals worth of fish from the pier.
Laurie thinks of literally everything. Show up with your groceries and you never have to leave the property.
If I could give this vacation a 10 I would.

Great Experience
There is so much to do right there on the property. The house is beautiful and accommodating. The fishing dock is awesome. The hosts provide helpful information and responded quickly to questions.

Simply Amazing!!
My family and I very much enjoyed our stay at Island Girl. The home was beautiful, relaxing and fully equipped. The fishing was great from the dock as well as we caught many crabs in the crab traps. I would highly recommend choosing this home for a vacation get away with your family.

Fabulous getaway
We loved the home and everything about it! Didn’t get a code at first to send but got a hold of them and got one fairly quickly. Lots of stuff provided and home was very clean. Wish there was a TV in master bedroom since there in is in other bedrooms. No complaints and perfect getaway to us

Amazing Getaway Near New Orleans
I stayed at Island Girl with some friends on a fishing trip. We loved the property, which comfortably slept five. It was a very well stocked house with beautiful views and convenient to get to from New Orleans.

Great memories
Had a great time, very relaxing, peaceful and beautiful scenery. Lovely home, very clean and really well stocked with extras. The only complaint was the house sways when you walk and wind blows. Needs tightening up, but I really liked it. Made me feel I was being rocked to sleep❤

Our family group of 6 loved staying at Island Girl! The kitchen was well-stocked with pots/utensils and excellent for cooking. The channel was great for kayaking on windy days, which there were several of. We caught a few crabs in the traps, though fishing was slow. The lighted pier was great at night and we all enjoyed the views. Appreciated all the little extras like providing citronella candles, shrimp bait, first aid supplies, and coffee!

We loved our stay here this week. The house was the perfect base for exploring New Orleans and getting in some nature time! We fished, kayaked, crabbed, and just sat by the water watching fish jump around us. The perfect weather didn’t hurt! We went into New Orleans most days to walk around, eat, take cemetery tour, and usually brought dinner home or stopped at nearby Rouse’s. Since it was Mardi Gras time we were lucky to snag a Dong Phuong king cake just up the street! House was clean, quiet, furniture was comfortable, and kitchen was well-equipped. We hope to be back very soon!!

Peaceful, and much deserved relaxation.
The house and property were very clean. All the furniture was very comfortable, especially the master bed. We enjoyed the lake caught a few blue crab, despite the cooler weather and lots of rain.
Overall we enjoyed this rental. It would be perfect for a small family. Or as in our case just us as a couple get away..
