The property was so run down and dirty when we checked in. The pictures that advertised the property on VRBO looked nothing like what the actual property looked like when we arrived. It was in very poor condition. We contacted Vacasa numerous times during our stay about issues and although they texted back, we were told the “local team” would get back to us and we NEVER got any responses from them. We left an item at the property upon check out and still haven’t received it back even though we reached out numerous times to get item sent to us and we were charged a fee. The only plus was that we asked to have the pool heated and even though they couldn’t accommodate, which was a big bummer, they did give us a credit for what they charge for pool heating. Otherwise it was not a very positive experience for us and don’t think I’d rent from this company again unfortunately.

House was great! Great location. Needed a house for two teenagers and everyone needs their own space.

The location of this house is absolutely perfect. The pool was awesome and much warmer than expected which was awesome. The hot tub however was filthy. When I asked the property manager to get it cleaned or asked if they had cleaning supplies they responded with a generic message saying it was cleaned on Thursday (the day we checked in). The hearted was also not working properly and the house was 62 at night which is a little too cold for children. The property manager again stated they would send someone out. They finally sent someone out on the 4th day of our 5 days trip. The floors were super dirty so I would suggest bringing house slippers. Our biggest mistake was not communicating though VRBO to get these things taken care of instead of directly through Vacasa on the number they txt me on. All in all I would stay here again for the pool and the amazing location.

We know the neighborhoods of La Jolla really well and Windansea is our favorite. The house is on the ocean side of La Jolla Blvd and walking distance to both the beach and rations. Location: A+ The house itself has pros including the pool, jacuzzi, it’s a front unit with a front yard/porch and a driveway so you don’t have to look for parking every time you come/go. The downside is that the home is worn down on the inside. The kitchen fridge was broken so a second fridge was placed in the middle of the kitchen right in front of the broken one. This prevented us from easily accessing plates, bowls and a variety of other kitchenware. The kitchenware we could reach was old and the knives were so dull we couldn’t even cut an apple. The bathrooms and bedrooms were perfectly fine but could use a coat of paint. The main living area was great. Net net, the pros far outweighed the cons. It’s expected to have some wear at a beach rental and we certainly didn’t let it bother us.

The house is in a great area, a walk to the beach. Loved pool and hot tub. It would have helped if the house had a welcoming instructions sheet which is normal on house rentals. Needed clarity on trash, fan and TV. Thanks

Cute home, had everything we needed. Spa and pool were real nice. Quick walk to the beach for beautiful sunsets. Convenient location.

The pool and hot tub were amazing. My kids were in there a few times a day. The living areas were nice as were the other bedrooms. The master needs some work. The bed frame is huge for that room. If you sleep ok one side of the bed you have to slide in sideways or crawl in from the bottom of the bed. There were only outlets on one side that I could see, and at the end of the bed there was a space with no mattress, like the bed frame was too long for the mattress. This house also only came with enough laundry soap to do one load, and it looked like it had been sitting on the top of the washer untouched for years. The washer and dryer were nice and clean, however they are on the porch so it's a little tough to load and unload in such a small space, balancing all the doors. I really liked how the dishes were well labeled and easy to find. There were lots of kitchen appliances. There was no hand soap on the kitchen, which I haven't had happen in a Vacasa rental before, I bought one and left it so if you have hand soap in the kitchen you are welcome:) The front yard is so amazing to sit in a relax. The beach to watch surfers or surf is a short 2 min walk down to the end of the street. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful at night. I imagine in the summer it would be very hot because the fans that were there were pretty old and beat up. Overall this was a fine house, it just needed some small improvements to make it a 4 or 5 star house.

Great location, very clean and quiet. We had trouble with the thermostat working correctly but there were space heaters available to warm it up.

With multiple children, this house was perfect for us. It had plenty of beds, working kitchen, laundry, and hot tub/pool! Its location is ideal— short drive to many sights and 3 min walk to the beach!

The best way to describe this home is an amazing location but a house that leaves a lot of potential and upgrades to be had. This home sits a block from a great beach and a block from several great places to eat, amongst several beautiful newly renovated or built homes worth $5 million +. However, this home is definitely one of the older ones on the block. The front yard is inviting, renovated and great to hang out but the rest of the inside of the home is a bit older and dated. There is NO A/C and the home doesn't get very good airflow, so be aware of that especially in the summer. One of the most unique things is this house has a pool and above ground spa which is VERY rare to find this close to the ocean. For us that was the main draw. With some cosmetic upgrades inside, some A/C and a few clean ups in the backyard regarding landscaping, this would be the IDEAL vacation home for families. For now, you will have to asses the tradeoff of having a pool/ being walkable to beach for the house being hot and a bit older/ dirty/ outddated.

Location was great. Definitely needs some updates and more attention to details. Niegbors were friendly.

Family of five had a great trip. The house is super close to ocean. Everything in the house worked well. We appreciated the starter supplies of soap, dish soap, trash bags, laundry soap, etc. Quick and easy text communication with the staff. Responsive when had minor issue. Enjoys our stay.

In summary, we don’t recommend spending your money here! I’ll start by saying we stayed for 6 nights. We got there, and the pictures aren’t what you get. The post talks about a front yard for kids and pets but the front gate is wide open and doesn’t even latch for safety or to keep anyone in/out. We had a big grocery order for delivery scheduled and got there and the fridge and freezer were HOT. We had to cancel that order and figure out food and how to keep the food we brought chilled. Called VRBO for help which isn’t helpful because you’re transferred to the property management company and they said they’d call back but never did! (More to come on that.) Then we go out back, the pool and spa were GROSS! The pool was moldy, green, water level was low, and just dirty! Looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in WEEKS. The hot tub was gross (thankfully not green) and half full of water! What the heck? The next day I call back and complain about the pool, hot tub, and the fridge (AGAIN) and I’m again told they’d reach out in a few minutes. 24 hours later (no notice) a pool guy shows up, brushes the pool, and then fills the hot tub and pool and leaves. It’s STILL green and the tiles are so green and gross 6 days later. We never got to use the pool!!! For $616 a night you’d expect all amenities you paid for; right? Then later in the day the company randomly shows up, no notice again, and drops off a fridge in the middle of freaking kitchen! They drop it and say oh we can’t take the old one it’s the owner’s. Are you even kidding me? In the midst of all this VRBO offers to put all 6 of us up in a gross hotel room as a courtesy?! Seriously?! The kitchen table chairs are SCARY. I’m not sure how they didn’t all fall apart on us. They’re so unsafe. There’s a huge scary brown stain on the ceiling in the kitchen. It just doesn’t have the personal touches and feel of a privately hosted home. Don’t believe the pictures you see; there’s a lot of changes to the property itself that in my opinion take away from it as a whole. Why can’t we update those and be honest?? There’s also a big sign on the wall saying checkout is at 11, but it’s not, its 10, they just didn’t take it down and refused to honor it. Anyways; neighborhood and location are AMAZING. 100% the reason we stayed. So much good food, coffee shops, stores, and the beach are within a 4 minute walk! Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Couple things I loved. It was in a great location. Quick walk to everything you need. The pool and spa were nice as well. Check did not go well. Our code did not work to unlock the door. We did finally have a neighbor let us in otherwise it would have been an hour before we received a new code that worked. Kids were excited about the bikes on the front porch but after a closer look they were completely not usable…covered in spider webs and completely rusted. There was a big welcome gift bag which I thought was sweet, most houses I’ve rented have them. Inside we found 3 pods for the dishwasher and 4 pods of laundry soap. How silly….just don’t leave a gift. They leave you barely enough supplies to get through the first day. Two rolls of toilet paper, two trash bags, and half a roll of paper towels. I wasn’t planning on having to shop for this kind of stuff, been renting houses for years and those basics have always been supplied. No towels to use at the beach or for the pool and hot tub. 9 very white towels and that was it for the house. Also no bathroom rug or mat and a very slippery floor when wet, had to use one of the towels for that. Floors were not very clean and there were spider webs all over everything outside. This place has the potential of being really great, it’s just not quite there.

The house was charming in a great location near beach and beautiful walks. The bougainvillea by pool was surreal, stunning. Beds were comfortable and decor was fitting for home. 
Certain things were lacking would have been nice additions to an expensive first vacation in years and daughters wedding.  Such as coffee, tea,  baking sheets and a few more spices other then salt and pepper. Also blankets not throws for chillier nights.  Those things though were not that huge of a deal.
The home felt more clean on surface. Blender was dirty, floors looked ok but were dirty, walls needed wiping down, cob webs all over patio furniture by pool and hot tub. Made for uneasy sitting a bit.  Found black widow indeed by back door in much older web. Hot tub was dirty with sand very visible. Pool was dirty sides green, filter full of older debris. Pool flotation by pool was disgusting.
There were several cockroaches in kitchen seen, one stepped on. 
Exposed electrical in room with bunk beds. Fans in home,  none of four worked except ceiling fan over dining table.
I did respond to company with this information as well some pictures. I was hoping due to holiday weekend that there will be a response still have not recieved a response as of yet 06/01
Vacasa was easy to rent thru and check in and out was easy.
Hope the next renters see changes to what I've mentioned and I would definitely follow up with who cleans the property on cleanliness.
Hoping my matters will be resolved

Good location, called twice to make sure pool was heated before we got there, because that was the only reason we were there. Pool never heated until late the night before we left. When we arrived there was a natural gas leak. Shower curtain and pole were on the floor. TVs and remotes didn't work. Was charged two days for pool heating that never happened.

Loved the location, the house is decorated very nicely and it had everything we needed for a great holiday. We used the pool and hot tub quite a bit and appreciated the 5 minute walk to the beach

My family and I stayed at the beach house for a week. The location couldn’t have been better, located in sight of the ocean. The house was clean and there was room for the eight of us to sleep and play. There were a few things that could’ve gone much better tho. The heater in the house worked sporadically and it was 45 degrees in La Jolla, so the house was VERY cold. I had contacted the owners about it but never heard back from them. I had also contacted them about heating the pool, which was offered on the website for $100 per day. I never heard back on that either, so we couldn’t use the pool. The kitchen was adequate for our needs but, fortunately, one of us brought knives to use because the knives provided were extremely dull. Lastly, there are two cabinets in the kitchen that are free-hanging on either side of the back door. Neither had anything immediately below, so both were hazardous. As the nearest cabinet was utilized, lifting up too close resulted in banging your head on the corner. I ended up with four stitches in my head from it, after a concussion and a trip to the ER. There was no communication from that incident either. I cannot recommend this home, unless the owners address the issues above.

Enjoyed the walks around the neighborhood and to the beach. Sunsets are amazing. Hot tub was essential after the day is done. BZ

We loved our stay! The beds are comfy, the kitchen has everything we needed and the pool and hot tub were amazing to relax at the end of the day. Ocean view from the front yard and short, easy walk to the beach and the market.
