The Joliet provided a great home case for our leaf peeping visits. Easy access to Starved Rock and Matthiessen state parks. Also to pleasant restaurants in LaSalle and Peru. Elaine was great and helped us get access quickly. Property is very nice. It is on a busy street. Parking was easy. A very nice home base.

Comfortable, clean and well appointed. Owner communicated very well. Dog friendly with thoughtful welcome package. The outside space is limited and unfenced. The property is on a main road near an intersection and hence there is traffic noise which could disturb a light sleeper. Well placed to walk to restaurants.

Such a lovely little cottage close to Starved Rock State Park. Elaine was very communicative and made us feel welcomed. She even thought to welcome our pups too!!

Our family of 6 stopped here on our way home from Michigan. The house was very clean and provided everything we needed. I am surprised no one has mentioned how loud the house was, as it sits right on a very busy street. I would advise ear plugs if you are a light sleeper! The house was as described, the beds were comfortable and the location was fabulous. The neighborhood was a little bit of a concern but everything ended up being fine in the end.

Place was amazing. Super immaculate. Newly remodeled. Very comfortable. Walkable to downtown restaurants and shops. Host was immediately available if needed. Highly recommended. Will stay there again when visiting the area.
Only suggestion…the living room needs better lighting. Would be nice to have end tables with brighter table lamps with shades (for better reading) rather than bare bulbs that blind you and don’t give off the right kind of light. The ceiling fan lights don’t give off enough light to read anything comfortably either. The lighting in the bathroom was amazing though. Other than that one suggestion, everything else was great. Thank you for sharing your house with us…we’ll be back!

My daughter and I came to explore Starved Rock State Park. This place was a short drive to the hiking and kayaking we had planned and just a few blocks walk into downtown LaSalle. The house was spotless, the kitchen well stocked, and the beds comfy. More room than the two of us needed, but would be a great place for families with teenagers who would enjoy the fooseball table, dart board, and the variety of board games. We opted for the comfy couch and the TV after our busy days. Communications from Elaine were clear and prompt. We'd definitely stay again!

This house was perfect. We needed a place to stay near Starved Rock & this cute little house was leaps and bounds above staying in a hotel room for pretty much the same price honestly. Would stay again if we find ourselves in the area in the future.

Property was as listed, very nice and we had a great time with no issues with it. And Elaine was good enough to provide us with a listing of things to do during our holiday stay. Much thanks and if we decide to go to the same area again we will definitely stay at the property.

This property was perfect for our family of three. Two adults, our 15 year old son and our Frenchie. Everyone had personal space and there was also space for family games and movie watching. We loved making mock-tails at the bar. I especially loved playing darts with my son! The kitchen was the best we have ever had at a Vrbo! Oh and the “ record player” was a major bonus! Would totally recommend and would definitely stay there again!

This house is adorable. Our 5 year old daughter loved the “game room.” We felt right at home and enjoyed the charming town of La Salle. It was a comfortable place to relax after full days hiking at Matthiessen and Starved Rock.

Loved, loved, loved this short but relaxing Easter weekend sleepover. Extremely clean and everything has been restored within the last year or so. Host went out of her way to address the smallest details like extra poop bags for our beloved dog, Bandie. Would buy it and move in except it isn't for sale !!!

Myself and my two brothers stayed at the Joliet for a weekend spring break fishing trip. The house was perfect as it was only ten minutes away from Starved Rock and very close to a lot of good restaurants. The house was very clean and comfortable as well. We had a great stay and created many great memories. Thanks so much for letting us stay.

This lovely warm home was perfectly located for my wife and I to spend a long weekend. We walked to meals on the main street in LaSalle, and then a quick 10-15 min drive to either of the two state parks to hike, we did both. It was cozy and warm. Very dog friendly, so we might being our puppers next time we go.

This is my second stay at one of Elaine’s properties. I highly recommend choosing her’s over any in the area! My husband and I enjoyed hiking at 5 parks nearby. We loved the comfy couch and recliner to enjoy our evening shows. We used one bedroom, but it was very comfortable, and the box fans were convenient, as we sleep with one on at home! Towels and all other necessities were generously stocked. Check-in and check-out was smooth! THANK YOU!

This place is true to description on site. We came for the Illinois Vintage Wine Festival and wanted a place close to Starved Rock. This place was an easy 10 minute drive without going on major highways. We also wanted a place close to the wine festival, which was less than 10 minutes away. The house was easy to enter without difficulty. The host left us a few surprises on arrival which were welcomed. The house was spotless, beds were comfortable, she had plenty of supplies of linen, towels, pillows and blankets. Kitchen was fully stocked for anything we needed. The grill was a plus as we cooked dinner on grill and ate on patio. The game room had a games, a dart board, and a foosball table, but we ran out of time to enjoy them. I would definitely stay here next year.

Wonderful small home that was perfect for two, although there was room for more. Elaine has made sure that the home has all the nice touches - good towels, a well-stocked kitchen, art on the walls miles above the usual boring art, games and things to do inside. Having stayed in quite a few rental homes, this one may be the best stocked. It is obvious that the owner has also traveled and has made sure the home has all the things in it that she wanted on her journeys. such as good linens, coffee cups that hold more than a few drops, night lights to you can see your way to the bathroom at night, and even a small supply of basics. If you are on the fence for choosing a rental for your home base, choose this one.

Easy place to find, clean, nice kitchen well stocked. Elaine is friendly and available. Close to everything we wanted to do. We will definitely go back, there is more we want to see, we just ran out of time.

Truly a 5 star experience
This home is larger in person vs photos with very tall ceilings and nice finishes. Elaine is a thoughtful host who truly provides everything: very comfy beds, nice linens and towels, extra garbage bags, extra toilet paper, dishwasher tabs, well stocked kitchen for cooking, charging port with extra outlets, smart TV. There are also fun 'extras' like the record player and records (the kids got a HUGE kick out of that), games, foosball and a dart-board. Plus the doggie extras! I have stayed in many good VRBOs and this was my best experience so far.

Nice place but right on the road and the floor was warped.
We had a problem with the television working. We called the host about the problem. She did not answer so I left a message. She never got back to me. I tried texting her but again got no response. We used the phone number that she left for us. Communication with the host ended after we booked the property.

Everything setup to bring your pup. Treats, dishes, gates (they are wood and my boxer sadly enjoyed showing it who was the boss 😉), and lint roller. It is town, but has plenty of space. The pictures do not show it justice on the size it really is. Hopefully we will be able to return next year. 30 mins from utv park. 10ish mins to the parks and winery
