Overall, this was an amazing trip for our family group of 9, and I'm so glad we stayed at this house. There were plenty of comfortable beds for all of us, an easy walk to the beautiful, white, sandy beach, a wonderful, shaded balcony, a well-stocked kitchen, and an extra large eating area, which was perfect for our large group of 9. There are some things that would need to be changed before I give the house a 5-star rating, however. The pile of junk down below the house should be cleared away, batteries in remotes should be replaced and all the broken electronics should be cleared out of the living room TV cabinet. It took a long time to get one of the DVD players to work and to find the right remote and get it to work. The TV screen in the master bedroom wouldn't turn off. The Internet continually went in and out. There were many broken sand toys under the house and deflated swimming toys. I would have appreciated a few more beach chairs and an umbrella or two. The kitchen lacked a few basic supplies like salt (there were several shakers but they were all empty) and rags to wipe the counter, a skillet, and a peeler. We had to purchase several things. There were no shortage of pots and pan though, and that was much appreciated. Overall it was fantastic and I'd definitely stay here again. I just wish those tiny details had been taken care of.

If you are looking for a quiet relaxing beach getaway, Dauphin Island is for you. It is not fast-paced, action-packed, or activity-laden days. Fishing and beaching are the two major things to do on the island. Of course, there are a few restaurants and shops, a small aquarium, mini golf, parks, and a fort to explore but that all equals about 2 days worth. Everything closes relatively early and a lot is closed on Monday. You can also take the Ferry over to Gulf Shores for a lot more activities but be careful because if the weather gets bad they cancel the ferry and it becomes an almost 2 hour drive back around Mobile Bay. There are a lot of amazing beach houses and I recommend one with a pool for the days those waves are strong. My final recommendation is to get groceries before you get to the island. It is about a 45-minute drive to the nearest Walmart or you do your shopping at Dollar General just off the island or the Ship Shore store on the island which has a remarkable amount of stuff but you pay dearly for it. There is a liquor store though and an ice kiosk. Make sure while you are on the island you don't miss the Lighthouse Bakery...danishes the size of a baby's head, turnovers, cinnamon rolls, breakfast sandwiches, and my fav, the cream cheese brownies.YUM!

Location was great, beach was never crowded and we could easily get a spot everyday. Had enough room for our large party to have a great time

Beautiful beach house! Had a nice, relaxing weekend. The sunsets were gorgeous from the deck. Loved the open floor plan - very spacious and comfortable. Perfect location. Easy check-in and check-out. Will definitely be back!

Location was perfect. Close to the beach, and restaurants. Very comfortable stay, furnished with everything we needed.

The lucky enough beach house was perfect for our family of 6! We had a small issue with the freezer and the maintenance tech was there within an hour. The kitchen was fully stocked with every appliance you could think of as well as the play area under the house, with every toy! We had a great vacation!

We absolutely loved staying at Lucky Enough! This house made it really easy to have our dog with us. The location was perfect! They supplied everything we needed. They even had some games, puzzles & sand toys. When we needed propane for the grill, Monique was amazing & got us what we needed right away. She was so helpful. We have never before brought our dog with us on vacation or stayed at a place that welcomes dogs. We have allergies & are allergic to some other kinds of dogs, so I was a bit leery about staying at a house where there might be other dog dander & hair. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the house was. I didn’t find any dog hair, and we had no allergy problems at all. 😁
