This was an excellent alternative to any hotels in the area. My wife and I were visiting to explore the area in terms of La Crosse, local bike trails and the local fair. The accommodations were everything we desired for our stay, providing comfort as we recharged between morning and evening adventures. Having a nice dinner in La Crosse and then retreating to a quiet riverside house was excellent. I did have some luck fishing off the pier. We spent plenty of time out on the back porch relaxing, watching the river activity, reading, etc. Overall a lovely stay we would like to revisit in the future.

This little house was perfectly clean and appointed. Our host, Cathy, was very responsive to our questions. She had the patio cushions out for us and the house cool when we arrived. We brought a fishing boat with us. The Wildcat Landing boat launch was super close and we easily docked our boat at the floating pier for the week. We enjoyed fishing in various parts of the river, but actually caught the most right off the dock. Cathy even has a fish cleaning area in the garage, and she took care of the fish guts for us. Afternoons on the patio were perfectly shaded, so enjoying the gorgeous view with an evening cocktail was very comfortable. LaCrosse is only 20 minutes away and a very nice city to wander. We plan to be back sometime next summer.

This VRBO had everything we expected and more. We were not disappointed at all!! Cathy was great, we were even able to check in a few hours early. Very clean, had everything we needed. Great location. Just a short boat ride to our favorite Tiki Bar.

Great stay, very quiet and clean place. We very enjoyed our stay. I caught my PB sturgeon there (around 40lb). We were there 2nd time and we are even more satisfied. Great fishing opportunity, big fishes right from your patio!

We stayed the weekend to visit our son who goes to college locally. What a great little spot right on the Mississippi River. Beautiful sunrises that illuminated the entire cottage. Super clean and everything we may have needed was provided.

1st choice place to stay at, everything was as described and pictured. Had a great stay. View was beautiful & the morning sunrise was bright & sunny with all the windows to the east. Thank you for providing a great place to stay! We hope to return again.

The place is really cool. It is exactly as pictured, but the pictures do not do it justice!!! The place was VERY clean and fresh. It's a perfect get-away for two, or a small family. Great layout, and peaceful location. Pro-tip #1: The food at Shellhorn Bar and Grill is excellent bar-food, but note they are only open Thursday-Saturday. The Marina to the north is ok and twice the price. The live music might be an attraction, but we missed it. Pro-tip #2: Take a drive down to Lancing Iowa, cute little river town. Make it a loop over to the Wisconsin side and back around, nice little afternoon trip. Owner was very attentive at check-in, check-out, and throughout our stay. Top notch! Would definitely recommend!!

This was the perfect spot for a couples getaway. The house sits right on the Mississippi River and offers spectacular sunrise and sunset views. The house is nicely decorated and very comfortable.

Pros: updated and clean, nicely decorated, private dock, has most kitchen items to cook on your own, easy to find, lots of boats and barges to watch, Cathy was very friendly and responsive, proximity to LaCrosse for restaurants, scenic drive to Brownsville Cons: tons of mosquitos at night making it impossible to sit outside, not much to do for a family (would be great for a couple), no privacy from the patio on one side and the neighbors seem a little annoyed to live by a vacation property

Get up early and take in the sunrise over the river from the dock, you won't be disappointed. The ramp going down to the dock is a little steep but very sturdy and wasn't slippery even in the early morning dew.

This home is literally right on the river and was impeccably clean! It never felt cramped or crowded and the decor is relaxing and not cluttered, adding to the feeling of spaciousness. It's in a great location to enjoy the morning and afternoon sun on the cute patio. It was fun to watch the barges go by. We also got to see a turtle lay eggs right in the yard between the houses! We did not disturb the little lady, but it was so cool to see. The kitchen is well-stocked with all utensils and pots and pans to cook meals as well as detergent, paper towels and garbage bags. The bedroom is spacious and the bed comfy. Plenty of fluffy towels and loved the soap dispensers in the shower for convenience. We walked to both Saxon Pub (amazing pizza and wings with affordable drinks) as well as Wildcat Saloon. Another plus was the strong wifi because both myself and my partner needed to work during our week on the river and the AC kept up with the awful heat and humidity. Cathy was quick to respond and answer any questions. Definitely a 5-star stay and 5-star host. NOTES: The house is located right by train tracks, which didn't bother us at all because we come from an area with trains. There is a small convenience store across the highway, but we did bring the major foods with us knowing selection would be limited for any specific meals we wanted. We did go in to LaCrosse for dinner one night and it was easy to get to and from the historic downtown district right from the bridge, which was also a plus! There's no dishwasher, which again was not an issue since there was only two of us and we brought paper plates and cups.

My wife and I had a wonderful long weekend at this river house to celebrate her birthday. The house was beautiful and the views from the bedroom over the river were incredibly breathtaking. Cathy was very easy to reach via text and the check-in and check-out procedures were very easy and straightforward. Our only complaints were the difficulty finding the dirt road where the house was, especially at night as the small town (Brownsville) was very poorly lit. A few other words of caution: - It is very buggy at night so consider bringing extra citronella torches/candles beyond those provided.
