We stayed at the Charleston in Milton for three days to celebrate our anniversary. Everything was perfect from beginning to end. I can’t say enough about the host Richard, he makes sure every need is met and has a wonderful sense of humor. The home and property are beautiful. There are a lot of cute shops and restaurants within walking distance. If you were looking for a relaxing stay away from the crowds this is your place.

We had a great stay in this beautiful house. The house is a real germ; it is a replica of the Charleston old house. The unit is sparkly clean and has everything you need. Richard, the owner, was very friendly and took time to show us around. We love the location: it is only 25 min from Henlopen State park, away from the crowd. We will definitely come back.

My husband and I had an enjoyable 3 nights staying in Contessa's Suite! This home is beautifully decorated with a well manicured lawn. It was really nice to have a private balcony overlooking the lawn, especially as we had one day of rain! After spending another day at the Cape Henlopen state park beach, I loved being able to walk across the hall from our room to the laundry room to launder our towels for the next day! My husband liked the coffee maker and fresh half/half that was in our refrigerator! The bed was super comfy and the house was super clean! We took advantage of the short walk to buy ice cream each night and the Irish Eyes restaurant was our favorite a few blocks away. Easy parking as well! Thanks Richard for the great stay!

Stayed 2 nights at this gorgeous property in July 2023. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. Richard the property owner is a wonderful man and super friendly. The room was squeaky clean and made this stay perfect. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed. Thanks again for a great stay.

5 stars! Exceptionally clean. Peaceful and quiet neighborhood. Within walking distance to restaurants in Milton. Quick drive to Delaware’s beaches. We had a wonderful visit and the host, Richard, was so accommodating, kind and welcoming.

Our stay was just perfect! Richard was an amazing host who had planned all the right touches from the room and private balcony to the luxury towels. He even made sure there was a power strip on either side of the bed. Milton was a lovely town and the Charleston of Milton was fantastic!!

The owners were so sweet and the breakfasts were delicious! Our bedroom was beautiful and we had a great time! Gorgeous place! The only things we would recommend for any future changes would be to make sure the heat is on....really cold our second night, and a bathroom with a shower/shower curtain. Otherwise it was the perfect getaway and we may definitely visit again one day!

What a wonderful house and suite! Newly built with every detail perfect and beautifully designed. Richard was very welcoming and looked after our every need. We enjoyed the proximity to Cape Henlopen and Lewes which made for an enjoyable getaway. Hope to go again soon!

What a wonderful gem! The attention to details in the interior space is flawless, all lovingly selected and displayed. An ingenious mix of contemporary and vintage art and decor, as well as beautifully landscaped gardens. The host is very welcoming and accommodating, literally giving us “the shirt off his back” when my husband forgot his white shirt for a black tie wedding.. Richard came to our rescue! Thank you! You are amazing!

We wanted a nice place in a low-key area that was close to our places to explore. The Contessa Suite was such a place, but more elegant than expected. Basically, it looked brand new in a historical style, furnished with lots of art and sparkling surfaces that just felt good. The suite had an outdoor balcony for relaxing, and, an area for simple food prep, with sink and mini-frig, plus nice dinnerware for 2 guests. Also coffee and teas for sipping. Richard was a very gracious and friendly host, able to answer our questions and accommodate any needs we had. We were close to a small historical downtown area where citizens gathered for various local Fall events. Fairly cozy and artsy. Our place made a good base for us to visit Prime Hook Wildlife Reserve, Lewes and Cape Henlopen State Park, a lavender farm and Rehoboth Beach for a delightful French style dinner! Our visit was short but very sweet! We will come again when we visit the area to stay!

When we arrived, we were greeted by the host Richard who was absolutely amazing. When he showed us the room, it was so elegant! I loved the way it was decorated along with how comfortable it appeared and felt. The private balcony, bed, as well as the shower is what sold me. It was very peaceful and quiet. We loved every bit of our stay. Richard even offered us some firewood for our bond fire at the beach.

More than we expected. Beautifully decorated, spacious, comfortable, well appointed kitchen for our quiet meals in and beautiful, peaceful balcony for reading and coffee. Our host became an instant friend, showing my contractor husband all the work lovingly put into this hidden gem in Milton, DE. Who knew Milton? Now I want to live there. 😊

Richard, our host, was wonderful and fun to meet. He has thought of every detail that will make your stay delightful. The design and decor is stunning! Thank you, Richard. My son was playing at sports at the beach. The Inn was magnificent. It was clean, with beautiful decor. Only 8 minutes from the field. Very relaxing, comfortable, restaurants were in walking distance. The value was by far the best in Milton. I highly recommend this property. The bed was comfortable and my son loved the extra large shower head and walk in shower. Thank you host Richard for the hospitality and great taste in decorating.

The Charleston at Milton Inn was absolutely charming and so was our host! As advertised the house was beautiful, well-appointed and very clean. We were able to visit the busy beaches during the day and in the evenings return to the quaint town of Milton for good food and good service; followed by a nice stroll through town leading back to the Charleston for an evening drink on the porch. My husband and I were looking for a room off the beaten path near Lewes & Rehoboth Beach. Comfort, class and charm describe The Charleston of Milton Inn. All of your senses will be activated as you enter this property. From the exterior gorgeous gardens and covered porch, to the extravagant foyer full of calming sounds, including agreeable jasmine smells and stylish artwork. You’ll be eager to see what awaits you as you navigate the widen stairways and head directly to the Contessa’s Suite. You’ll embrace a room with specific architectural characteristics that will take you back to the early 1800’s. Vintage furnishings and home décor are stylish, unique and eco-friendly. But, you’ll have all of today’s amenities such as remote controlled air conditioning, ceiling fan, coffee bar and a lovely, comfortable bed that you won’t want to get out of. The property was beautiful and our room was immaculate. The room was delightful with a small table and little kitchen. The bed was unbelievably comfortable. It felt like we were sleeping on fluffy clouds. The bathroom was gorgeous and the shower was very delightful. I would definitely come back here again and I have told all my friends about this great property. Downtown Milton is really nice as well. The only thing I would have loved to have was ice. Richard was a super nice guy and made us feel very comfortable at his property. He was a text message away if we needed anything!! We had a great weekend here.
