My mid-week stay was lovely. Front desk service was excellent. They called me a taxi, answered map questions, allowed me to arrange a late check out, and the pool cleaner ensured my pool swim was uninterrupted and pleasant. There were quitr a few swimmers the evening before but during the late morning I had the pool to myself. The room was clean and spacious. The restaurant waitress went above and beyond to get me take out containers since I had to rush out before finishing my meal. Bed pillows and robes were luxurious. I should have inquired about where to park before arriving but valet parking was very helpful to me as I was not familiar with local parking.

As usual, we were very comfortable at this hotel… the bed was very solid with nice linens, the heating systems was quiet and the room was a nice size. We enjoyed the pool and really love the location right in the heart of the city.

Somewhat faded. Room had several missing / broken parts. Sink plugged. Staff were not knowledgeable about basic things. Ie reported bathroom sink didn’t drain and they asked if it was something that could wait until we checked out.

Terrible employees, who were no where around to help, because they were smoking weed instead of working.
We went there for the pool and hot tub with the kids. Neither one was working According to some other unhappy guests so we never went swimming. The room was dirty and full of other people’s food and chips on the floor etc.
there was no heat in the room and the wife and kids had to shiver in their jackets

The rooms were huge! Great for a family with a separate living room area. Great service from the front desk. Dinner at the restaurant was a bit lackluster but breakfast was great!

After reading some other reviews I was a little worried about staying at this hotel, but it exceeded my expectations. Previous reviews had mentioned issues with the room temperature, but in my case, the room was cool and I was able to turn on the heat as I needed. The bedroom and living space each had a large window with a harbour view, the living area was clean and comfortable, the beds were extremely comfortable. Front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. If I had any complaint it would be that there was a bit of a musty smell around the sink, but it was not overwhelming or noticeable in the rest of the room. I liked that the layout of the suite wasn’t box-y. The location was minutes to the harbourfront which was perfect! It was definitely a pleasant stay and I will stay at this hotel the next time I am in Halifax.

Our room could have been better I had to sleep on top on the couch because the fold out couch was dirty and torn. There wasn’t any shampoo and body wash in the bottles. They didn’t change the garbage when they cleaned the room.

Not as well kept as you’d expect with “Hilton” attached , seems like it’s older than it is, carpets are need of a deep stain removing clean .
Pool area is 2 star at the most . Just not a great experience but the valet was great as was the front staff .

Rooms look tired needs complete renovation, coffee table worn / stains on lampshade and the heating system was not functional … one of the worst stays I have experienced at a hotel… more like a motel!

The staff were amazing. Room was clean, and comfortable. With kids met all our needs, and then some. They even offered the kids warm cookies when we got there. Definitely a pleasure to stay! Thanks Hollis Hilton!!

The rooms are unbearavly hot and they advised they can do nothing about it except provide 2 small fans. Very unpleasant expereice.

Very disappointing stay. We were not given the room we booked upon arrival and then we were given a room that hadn’t been properly cleaned with orange juice left all over the table in the room. The shower curtain was torn and tv did not work. Would not stay here again.

Our stay was not as expected. We walked into our first room and it was extremely hot (the walls themselves were radiating heat, like the walls were hot to the touch). And the AC/heat unit in our room and wasn’t working and would only give off heat - no cold air). I usually NEVER complain however it was SO hot that I had to. We called the front desk multiple times and had no answer, therefore, I ended up going to the front desk about the heat issue, I felt like my issue was brushed off -she told me she would bring a fan (which was forgotten about)… later in the night we re-addressed the issue with a new front desk worker (which she was great and helpful), however our issue was not resolved until literally 2am when worker herself came to the room and said the heat was unfit… that’s when we were finally moved into another room.

From a distance, everything looks great. Close up, not so much. Very run down, needs maintenance. Night stand light and bathroom makeup light were not working.
Bed was clean and comfortable. Towels are nice.
Bathroom had long hairs laying around.
Coffee machine and coffee is terrible.
Windows are old and you can hear people below on the streets.
You can very clearly hear your neighbors doors opening and closing.
Cookies are delicious.
Valet parking is $35/night.
I had hoped for a lot better for $300/night.

Staff are great and very professional. Room condition a little dated with chipped tables. Had to request a roll of toilet paper which I would have been something that housekeeping would be looking for when they completed their daily route through rooms. The rest of the building appears to be in good condition.

Most interesting shaped King Suite. Well appointed and the large bathroom was a pleasant surprise as was the TV in the mirror.

Our stay was fine. When my son arrived in his room there was a leak from the ceiling (not sure why they did not see this!) they could not move him until the next day. But they did and that was fine. Our door did not close properly - you really had to force it shut and both days we got back to the room to find the housekeeping had left our door open. Luckily for us no damage or theft occurred. Don't think I'd stay here again, much better options in Halifax.

No mention of parking in the write up..turns out it’s a $35 per day…..valet only….and when you arrive late at nite, no valet available…the place basically has no parking!

Great staff, great restaurant. Room was VERY tired. Fridge was a freezer, missing lights, dingy furniture. Overall not worth the very very high price. Outside was neglected . Nothing terrible, just very old and very tired. Should be a budget hotel.

Mold in shower in caulking gives a poor respect for high end hotel! Fridge froze our pop, vegetables, yogurt, packaged salad and dressings…extremely disappointing that all our food had to be left behind due to not being salvageable. These were items for us to stop and eat while driving back to Alberta! Front staff unable to rectify the issue had to wait for manager so we waited quite some time before leaving hotel and still no manager. At 11:30 still no call from manager! The charge of valet parking on top of the cost of room extreme in my view! Staff was great…bed was comfy!
