Lovely little inn to see while touring the bridges. Warm reception upon arrival and rooms were very clean. Enjoyed the hospitality of the host.

No frills stay, very nice staff, good coffee, comfy bed and cool memorabilia about the area as decorations. Room smell a bit musty. Protein options for breakfast (cheese sticks or eggs) would be great.

We stay at hotels almost every weekend. The front desk guy was the most rude unprofessional person I have ever encountered. Make sure you read the fine print - you have to check in by 11 and there’s no exception. They won’t “inconvenience” themselves to wait for you.

Bill has a wonderful personality and is very knowledgeable about Winterset. The breakfast was delicious!

This is a great hotel. The desk attendant seems like the owner, and is amazingly friendly and helpful. The rooms themselves are clean and in excellent shape. Highly recommend!

Place was adequate for one night stay.. Older hotel with lumpy beds and small bathroom. Staff was very nice and friendly. Small breakfast with weak warm bread with butter and orange Tang for juice. Coffee wasn’t too bad.

We liked the old charm of the hotel. The staff is really nice and helpful. Bill went out of his way to give us a discount we didn't know about. Thank you Bill!

Property owner was on site and greeted us upon entry. Very friendly and fun. Walked us to our room and even brought us a dvd player to watch the movie “Bridges of Madison County.” Like he said, the rooms aren’t the most updated but they are clean. Parking is plentiful and it was easy to find our room. Would definitely stay here again the next trip.

The Covered Bridge is an absolute delight. If only there were places like this to stay all the time. Bill, the owner, is a gem! He is welcoming and accommodating and takes pride in his business. The rooms are immaculate and comfortable. If you are looking for a 5-star hotel, go to a big city. If you want home away from home, go to the Covered Bridge Inn.

The woman who checked us in and out was wonderful and very pleasant and helpful.

We appreciated the attention to detail by our hostess; walking us up to the room and making sure the key worked. The only thing that was a bit frustrating is that at 9:20 on our check out morning, our door was opened (presumably by house keeping). Fortunately we weren't indecent. Next time, knock first or check with the front desk to see if the room is unoccupied.

Everything was clean, bed was comfortable, and I had the best single-night’s sleep I can remember when traveling! However, the highlight of our brief visit was getting to know Bill and learning all about this lovely part of Iowa. Will definitely return👍

It was an excellent stay, very friendly staff. Loved the way Bill sat and talk with the quests. Made you feel right at home. Would be my first choice to stay if in the area again.

We would go out exploring during the day and then get back in the evening an sit outside and relax. Bill was always there in the morning with excellent fruits, homemade cinnamon bread. Coffee, milk, cereal and stories and suggestions for exploring. Very comfortable and clean. Thank you Bill and Beth.

The Inn was very nice and the people very funny and friendly. As travelers though - we would have liked a little more options for breakfast. Instant oatmeal and a few fruit to chose from, is not a good travel breakfast. Would definitely stay again - but go somewhere else for breakfast.
