Driven by an emergency generated by Delta, we were forced by miscommunication between Delta, its subsidiary Endevour Air, and the Marsh Harbour Airport. While every other plane landing at MHH was turned around loaded with passengers, DL5111 sat on the apron for hours ultimately squandering its opportunity to return to ATL. Delta’s own app communicated confusion with announcements indicating delays. Eventually the airport drove us customers away announcing cancellation of the flight and closing the airport allowing no lingering. If weather had been a factor denying #5111 taking off, it certainly didn’t impede all the other flights to leave.

The heater did not work, the beds were hard, and the rooms were not worth they were charged for

If you’re going to Abaco it’s still best place to stay. Very impressive resturant too.

Being the “off season”, it’s nice & quiet. Lovely view from room balcony. Nice indoor & patio restaurants. Paddle boards & kayaks available to use. Nice pools & swimming beach.

We cannot even express enough the level of dissatisfaction with this facility. To begin with we could not ever access with any level of reliability any of the electronics - internet, tv, phone etc. We made multiple attempts to inform the front desk and nothing was ever successfully addressed. In addition the cleanliness of the room was very disappointing. Just one walk across the room and your feet were black - seemed like it had not been mopped in a very long time. The food was the next issue - not worth the $ in our opinion (i.e food always cold at the buffets). The one exception is the meal we had at the indoor dining room on our final night, which was delicious and the service was great. But that was the only highlight of the 3 night stay.

Totally overpriced, but their is not much of other hotels options

I did not like the fact they charged my credit card $200.00// day for incidentals without disclosing that was their policy. Only took Visa/Master card and most wanted cash with no ATM in hotel. Resort was very pricy for the condition of property.
Will probably research other resorts if we go back to ABACOS

The island and the hotel are beautiful. We enjoyed having restaurants on site as well as restaurants in close proximity to the hotel. Our rooms were large and freshly decorated. Enjoyed our stay.

The property itself is rebuilding and they are doing a great job. They have a pier where you can tie your boat if you have one during your stay. It was so quiet at this resort. You could hear the water with nothing else in the background (far different from Nassau, where all you hear is the verse beeping of bulldozers). The rest of the island, however is really boring. This place has been leveled by the last hurricane they had and its not being rebuilt fast enough. The locals say the insurance payments are not coming through and now no one wants to rebuild. It looks like a ghost town island. It's too bad, because this resort was a nice place in no-man's land. There are terrible choices for food on the island. There are BARELY any attractions to see (unless you go to neighboring islands). I would recommend the hotel, not the island.

The staff at Abaco Beach Resort are some of the kindest and hard working people we have ever met. But that is more of a reflection of the Bahamian people than the resort itself. The target clientele of ABR is high-end boaters who want to pull their ship into port for days/weeks/months and don't care about the exorbitant price of everything. If you are filthy rich and arriving by ship then this is a nice fancy playpen for you - separated from the town by a security gate and a large parcel of land, with Tomahawk steaks and other fancy accoutrements you can find anywhere else on earth. I suggest looking for a local hotel instead and renting a car to see beyond Marsh Harbour to the rest of great Abaco. Meet the locals and see what these resilient people have been through in the years since hurricane Dorian. And walk over to Colours on Tuesday for Karaoke and a taste of the real nightlife. If you are just looking for a resort town then you don't understand what the Bahamas is about. Sure they have the bluest water, but the real treasures of the Bahamas are the people :)

The area is still building back after Hurricane Dorian. The beach is lovely. There are beach chairs that are ready for replacement or repair. The food and servers were excellent.

Was just there for a night, overall a good spot. Small pool where most of the guest stay and a little bit of a hike to the Pool bar and Restaurant. Restaurant in lobby was delicious but priced like the Ritz.

Rooms over priced for what is offered.

They are doing the best they can after the hurricane destroyed the island.
We had intermittent water or hot water shortages but the whole island does too. Excellent resturant.

Avoid room 357. The toilet didn't stop flushing. The shower door didn't slide all the way close. The entry door was off the upper hinge, making it difficult to close. That could all be fixed. However, the noise and vibration from the ac plant travels through the shared wall making the room always noisy. That would be very difficult to fix. The room was beautful, the outside bar and restaurant had good food. We were there during the fishing tournament, so perhaps they used a room they normally wouldn't. We would stay there again, but be more careful about accepting a room.
