It was ok not 100 percent clean but I would stay here again. It’s better than some places I had stood at .

Nice property, clean rooms, quiet and safe but the staff lacks customer service skills.

Bring your own blinds and earmuffs. The owners were sitting outside our room talking until 2am. They don’t even bother turning off the lights outside if you aren’t going to turn off the lights the least you can do is provide better blinds. SPEND THE EXTRA 50$ AND GO SOMEWHERE BETTER

Terrible customer service, there was bed bugs, and overall the room was dusty and looked hardly cleaned.

I clearly asked for no maid service. Left and guess what they provided a service I did not want and the worse part they clean with a product loaded with perfume. It triggered a margrine. My stay at this hotel was horrible..I was not only client who complained today. I will also never select this hotel or use Expedia or Trip Advisor, since they are owned by the same.

Great place to stay. Clean. We had issue with plumbing. Toilet would not flush and its tough when you dont want to call the office for the inconvenience.

Good place. Has everything you need to spend a night. Bed was comfy. Plenty of parking close to rooms. Only 2 things I didn’t care for. Low water pressure, and the soap/shampoo dispensers that hang on the well. Barely anything comes out of it. But it was a great price for a quick night that we needed.

This was the first time we reserved this horrible hotel, The Conferte shams was dirty, disgusty. Would not trying to reseved again. The supervisor at the moment he was hearing our room complaints,they cancel our reservatio in that momente. We get there around 9pm we have to go and look around for other hotel available😡😡😡😡

The location is close to many local interests. The staff is friendly and helpful.

The Discovery Inn was a very good value. It's well kept-up, comfortable, and right next door to a wonderful breakfast place.

Perfect for what I need

It’s clear that the new owners are putting a ton of work into renovations. Easy check in and out, no problems at all. Next time we visit Monterey we would happily stay here again.

Simple exterior with surprisingly newer interior floors, furniture and decor. Tight parking for larger pickups and service vehicles.

Very basic room. They just finished painting it so the paint smell was very strong. Walls very thin but overall clean and worked for us for a last minute stay coming in late at night.

On the second day that I had been staying at the Discovery Inn, the owner's mother insisted on looking in my room to make sure that it was clean before I left for the day. I'm extremely tidy so the room was immaculate anyways and so I had toyy let the woman who was not even wearing a mask come in to inspect my room to make sure that it was being kept clean. After I passed the inspection she also told me that I needed to write a positive review and that she would be checking to make sure that I did. Be prepared to have your door banged on by the owner even after I had already paid for the room i was having to stand in the doorway fumbling through my phone trying to check my email with a very weak wi-fi signal. So that I could gain access to my email and show the owner the confirmation number on my reservation. Why this had to be done in the doorway to the motel room just escapes my understanding, but that didn't seem to matter. The room is freezing cold so pack a blanket bc you will need one. And some ear plugs too, since the motel is in the middle of a serious renovation project that starts early in the morning.

Clean and basic but everything I needed. Fridge. Coffee pot. Shampoo etc.

Very clean & comfortable. Checked in during a rainstorm. There was a very small leak but the front desk offered us another room & was very accommodating. Very friendly & understanding.

Toilet wouldn’t flush properly, owner became upset when we reported problem. Eventually followed us back to room after getting a plunger. Plunged the toilet a couple of times, then walked back thru our room dripping toilet water from the plunger all across the carpeted room. Then owner said “I don’t know what to tell you, it’s going down now”. We asked to change rooms and he ignored us and walked out and away. Toilet stopped again, we ended up leaving at 3:30 am and just went home.

Always a convenient and well-priced option, just a five minute drive to downtown Monterey. Property is currently being renovated so things are looking a little more updated.

They were remodeling. Furniture was outside but our room was great . Early morning i did hear them working on moving furniture but was not bothered because we left early & spent our whole day out .
