Great location. Not a coffee pot as indicated - pod system-NOT the same thing. Very tight parking. Bathroom smaller than on a cruise ship.

Did not stay at this property, it is dirty, old, poorly maintained. Miscommunication about unit location.

We heard a baby running from the room above us constantly and throughout the night, music at one point so loud and no live person in office to complain to. No cable even though advertised. Furniture was so outdated and sticky. I will say the best thing was the housekeeping, brought fresh towers and clean environment despite the sticky furniture. Bed was comfy if you could sleep. For the price, it was far too expensive. Avoid the apartments rooms or any rooms with 2nd floor above you and you might get some sleep.

The room was adequate. Check-n is via a kiosk, which I didn’t mind and thought went rather smoothly. However, the TV didn’t work (I later learned it was due to the recent tropical storm) and having nobody at the front desk made me shrug my shoulders and just say whatever. The printed information in the room stated to drop off keys at the front desk upon departure , which I did. At that time a gentleman was sitting behind the desk , but he didn’t say anything you me or acknowledge me. I vacated the rink and was surprised to (hours later ) receive a call from someone at the hotel asking if I had checked out . I told her I had checked our four hours ago and left my keys at the front desk. It just feels as though no one person really cares about your experience there . Which is fine if you know that up front.

Beautiful spot on the beach and a super comfortable bed, with an excellent price at this older but endearing motel.

Property was ok for our purposes.

It is located oceanfront but no view from any rooms due to the dunes. Pier is right next to the hotel. Parking ok & free. Room had essentials & was clean. I can't say much more than that. It was quiet & safe.

We stayed at the Colonial Inn Motel last year. It was nice and was central to everything. When we decided to go to the Outer Banks this year, we didn't consider staying anywhere else. Everything was clean and we had a small refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave. The bed was comfortable. The only thing I would suggest is that they put one upholstered chair in the room instead of just a kitchen type chair. We would stay here again.

Motel is older establishment so decades of weathering from the continuous ocean's effect and storms, so this is a common sense review. Motel has average-good upkeep. Double room/w kitchen was spacious & quiet on ground level, no handrail at steps. Table w/4 chairs/small sofa/chair/ottoman/small table/dresser/closet w/hangers, 2 luggage racks/TV with HBO. Quality, clean, abundant towels. Comfortable beds/bedding. Bathroom spacious-vanity/shower stall/lotion, soap & shampoo dispensers. Windows in each room w/blind or room darkening curtains. Kitchen stocked w/few dishes/utensils, pots/pans, coffee/tea individual-not coffee maker. Gas oven burners have to be lit, lighter supplied (top was scorched). Full size refrigerator clean inside but needed cleaning on top. Dish soap dispenser. Additional charge if you leave dirty dishes. Benches/chairs/grills/outdoor pool/walkways. Sitting area to view beach and beach access. Pier close. Limited/TIGHT parking. Floors in room appeared to have been swept but not damp mopped cleaned. Outside area and trash can area especially needs to sprayed for fly control! Check in-Kiosk but no problems. Didn't have contact with any property staff during our stay, assume hard working cleaning staff allowed limited time to clean each room like most hotels. Area seems safe. Room was good value for the amount paid, especially for OBX. Would stay again.

Colonial Inn was great! We stayed with our kids and dog, got a free room upgrade, had beach access and lots of walkable choices for dining. Directly next to the pier if you’re planning to fish. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Would definitely stay here again!

Flies fly around sand all over the place.

The property/rooms have an extremely worn out look. We arrived late an used the kiosk which was convenient as there was no attendant working on site. Unfortunately, since no one was on site, there was no one to assist when we had trouble parking due to another guest taking up 2 spots ( limited parking), also no one to assist when we walked into our room that smelled so badly of marijuana. It was late we knew there were no other rooms available so we rigged the airfreshener to the AC to help with the smell. We mentioned this when we checked out in the morning but didnt really feel like the person cared. Thankfully we only were there for the 1 night.

First room no a/c. Temperature was 94 Second room had a horrible smell

Checked in early. Room ready. Bathroom shelf falling apart. Hurricane during night. Ceiling leaking next to bed. Reported in am and transferred to a little bit bigger and better condition room. All was okay for the price.

We actually did not even stay. the place looked very unsafe, people doing drugs in parking lot said oceanfront . could not see anything. We would like at least a partial refund we had to rebook somewhere else.

We rented a 2 bedroom unit, the bedrooms we pretty cramped, only one side of bed had a nightstand (no room for one the other side ) which meant that who ever slept on that side had to get out of bed walk around to bottom of bed to get a drink, and plug in phone. The air conditioner only worked in bedrooms if bedroom doors were left open, there was a fan in each bedroom but the screens in windows had holes in them and with the humidity no help at all.

I would've appreciated some tissues in the room to blow noises instead of using toilet paper, and the floor could've been better swept prior to our arrival, but overall it wasn't bad. Parking was tight and not easy to turn around when leaving.

Great location! Super easy check in and out process. We were able to check in early as well which was nice. Got a double bed standard room which was fine. Was exactly what our family needed. Swimming pool is a nice bonus! Beds were comfy. Towels were thin and rough - if you care about that type of stuff bring your own. Great spot for the price though for sure!

The motel is old and a little run down. The rooms were small (especially the bathrooms) but they were clean and ours looked like the photos from the website (just a little older). It is right on the beach. Central to all the sites. We had three rooms and they were all clean. No complaints here. Had a great time. Dog friendly.

The shower was absolutely disgusting. It had not been cleaned because there was hair and dirt in it. We had to shower with shoes on. The room was filled with flies. The beach entrance is over grown. The parking lot is a total disaster.

Really enjoyed the property. The room was really cute, lol. Easy access to the beach and the water was great when I went. Staff was very friendly. Didn't have to ask for any anything while there. I will return to this motel!
