The Quisby is a really great place and provides a family vibe in welcoming visitors.

Liked: convenience to public transportation and walkability Dislikes: poor room service, doors not closing all the way, subpar breakfast that consisted of only donuts and other unhealthy foods without any fruits.

Absolutely to be recommended!! Great location for various neighborhoods also public transport. Parked around the corner for free. AnnMarie (and her colleagues) at the front desk were marvellous, she fixed booking issues (expedia not the Quisbys mess) with a laugh and a smile. Affordable inhouse bar and lounge area. Clean and nice rooms. Would gladly go there again:)

I enjoyed my stay at The Quisby. This was my first time staying in a hostel so I didn’t know what to expect. The people at the front desk were nice. There was a bar and a free drink was available upon arrival. There is a community refrigerator available for use. Coffee was available in the morning as well as some breakfast items. Several restaurants were within walking distance as well as two convenience stores. I was in the 4 bed female room. It had its own bathroom. The lockers were bigger than I expected- probably big enough to fit a large suitcase standing up. I brought my own lock. It was a great value and I was within walking distance or a trolley ride of everywhere I wanted to go. I parked near the WWII museum since they do not have parking. It did get a little noisy at night, but nothing too bad. My towel disappeared and they were out of towels. My suggestion would be to bring a towel in case. Overall, I think it was a good choice and I would stay there again.

Upon arrival with my 10yr old son I was refused a room because I am a local.they told me they don’t accept locals which to me is discrimination

I stayed for 3 days and was very happy with the hostel. The front desk staff was friendly, the housekeeper changed the towels everyday, and the room was clean. Additionally, the bed was comfortable and the room setup was comfortable. Only problem I had was that there’s a lot of weirdos in New Orleans. So there’s a lot of people that are high as a kite sleeping in front of the building or walking around just being crazy. However, I didn’t feel in danger either all as a sole female traveler. My roommates were quite dirty, but I’m in a hostel, so I can’t expect everyone to clean after themselves. No noise around. Plus, breakfast was included.

The staff helped themselves to the things in my luggage! They allow you to check your bag at checking in and out. I left to get coffee, only to find several items missing. The other travelers are easier to leave with you luggage. I recommend getting a lock for staff members.

It was a bit wild at times, but I had a great time at Quisby, nice people in expensive beer. Good coffee and yummy biscuits in the morning. Would have liked some fruit too. Loveded the open mic. Nice and close to the Garden district and Magazine steet. Was a great place to stay.

The Quisby is a quirky, no-frills hotel with perks for budget travelers that I greatly appreciate (a free drink, free breakfast, a good atmosphere). The AC worked like a charm despite the extremely hot weather, and the rooms were much quieter than I expected. The staff was friendly for the most part. The main issue was the area. Even though well connected to the streetcar and close to museums, the highway underpass that connects with Downtown feels unsafe, especially for solo travelers.

The room seemed poorly cleaned, the towel for the floor was stained, it was in a rundown neighborhood.

My first experience with a hostel was here. I loved my experience here. The staff was friendly and kind and extremely helpful. To be honest I was a little nervous, but I was eased after the staff educated me on what a hostel is and what to expect. I will come back to the Quisby and hopefully sooner than later. Loved my stay.

I had a late flight and an early train to catch in the morning. Didn’t want to spend $$$ on a hotel, so The Quisby was the perfect solution! Friendly staff, clean room

It is close a lot of places. Staff was friendly. But on first day, the staff gave the towels behind the bar with the possibly unclean hands. Please change this system and leave towels on the bed.

Great hotel downtown. Great value for what i paid. Plus free breakfast.

Location close to city center but is near the area near homeless people (gives a kind of unsafety to walk even during the day). Staff ànd breakfast were my favorite likes about the Quisby! Another downside, they didn't clean the room everyday.
