We had to wait to check as no one was at the front desk. We rang the bell twice. The individual smelled heavily of cigarette of smoke when he finally arrived at the desk to check us in.

Absolutely lovely. Sunrise view over the river was exquisite. Quiet and relaxing stay.

Very clean, loved the the underground parking. Only problem I had was the tv would not turn off, it would only go to a gray screen and that was annoying. Also it would not switch to the HDMI it as like the remote to the tv only half of the function worked.

We enjoyed our stay from the room to the restaurant (including beautiful deck overlooking river) and indoor pool. All had pleasant decor and was clean. (Except for in shower needed some bleach on some black mold on edges/caulk—but not bad). The beds have comfortable white bedding.
The front desk gentleman who checked us in was very kind and helpful with a professional manner.
Would definitely return!

Perfect place to stay with access to Carleton College and Northfield. Comfortable beds, great location in the Cannon River. Hope to use the hot tub next time!

They charge $30 a night for change or cancel privileges on top of a medium high room rate. This does not seem right.

With Archer House gone, the Fairfield is probably the best bet in Northfield. Front desk staff is lovely and helpful, but our sheets had a big stain on it... that's a little off purring.

This was my second stay within a 7 day period. Both times the free internet was unreliable, sometimes unavailable, and very slow. They did offer a $5.99/day high speed internet, but the base service seems designed to drive you into that choice by being unacceptable. During my first stay, only hit water was available in the bathroom sink. When I informed the desk they said oh yeah we’ve heard that from someone else. During the second stay, the hairdryer didn’t work in the bathroom. Since it worked in the main room I assume a circuit breaker had tripped, but no one noticed. The beds and other furniture were fine. The morning breakfast service was plentiful, but some of the offerings weren’t edible.

They canceled my reservation because I used Expedia they said they could do that after I checked in.
I will not use Expedia again now knowing this.

Property has EV charging on-site. It is underground, but no priority is given to guests with EV vehicles. We were unable to charge our vehicle as a result. Customers without EV’s were free to park in these spots rendering them useless to patrons that needed them. Disappointing.

We loved the Fairfield! Clean, organized, hospitable. Nice selection of breakfast foods. We have a room overlooking the river and would recommend requesting that—not only was it beautiful and serene, but other locations in the hotel may be a but noisier (road traffic), although it located in a small town.

Enjoyed everything about this hotel, just very surprised it didn’t have a hot tub/jacuzzi in the pool area.
