We had a great time here! The room was nice and clean. Beds were cozy. Room smelled good. Little touches I liked were cute coffee mugs, Keurig, and coffee pot. Great location, easy walk to restaurants and stores. Staff was so friendly, helpful, and ready to give us whatever we needed! Would definitely stay here again!

Staff was friendly and location is fantastic. However, bathroom was tiny and shower was disgusting. Bathroom sink cabinet was pulling away from the wall. They need to update the bathrooms. We didn’t shower there but went to a friend’s house to shower because shower was tiny and gross. But love the vintage motel vibe and place is passable if you don’t care about the bathroom!

We searched Expedia for a pet-friendly place for the weekend. The Inn at Southport came up in the search list. We arrived to a clean and cute room. The next morning we read the placard next to the door and it said it was not a pet friendly room and that an additional $300 for cleaning fee would be applied. We texted the owner, Rebecca, right away to explain, hoping she would be reasonable about the fee. She was not. This motel was nice, but NOT worth over $850 total for 2 nights! Oh, and the coffee was terrible. We will chose other, much better places to stay in Southport in the future.

Mold and mildew in the shower! I get it that it’s an older place but that is gross and unhealthy. Towels had stains. Difficult to get a comfortable tempting the room. Room 1 by the street is very loud, it’s not quiet. Stayed here based on other reviews but my experience was quite different. Will never return nor recommend. Staff is quite attentive and reach out. I did not contact staff while I wss there about the condition of the room since it was just one night.

Really great place to stay in Southport! Clean, affordable, and great experience overall. The location is good too - the waterfront area is a short walk away (or you can drive, but it’s an easy walk) and there are restaurants and shops neighboring the hotel. The host was not on site but left me a hand written note with some suggestions and checked in with me by text a few times during my stay. Sone minor things for other travelers to be aware of: Parking is tight. If all the rooms were booked I think some people would have to park on the street. One of the other tenants parked their truck and kayak trailer in two spots, plus they had another vehicle, so the owners may want to consider imposing a per room limit during the busy season to assure everyone gets a spot on site. I was here during the week so it wasn’t a problem for me. Everything is a short walk away here so it wouldn’t be a big deal to park on a side street, just noting it for awareness. Don’t expect a view - those places are down the street where you will pay an extra $200 a night. I suggest you save your cash for some fabulous sunset dinners or a piece of local art to bring home instead. That’s what I did! I’m really glad I picked this place and will definitely be back.

Very clean

The Inn at Southport was in the simplest of words, An Authentic Representation of How Safe, Sweet, and Supportive the Southport Community truly is. From the moment we began the check-in process the staff went above and beyond to ensure that our stay with The Inn was one of great importance and remembrance. The rooms were spacious and clean. The location is centralized in Southport and allows for easy trips to the "must-see's & must do's" within the City of Southport. And if you're a movie buff you can't miss the cool opportunity to stay at Steve Buscemi's Motel from the film, "Domestic Disturbance."

The room was immaculate and smelled very good. The bed was very comfortable and the service was impeccable! The Inn will always be my go to when vacationing in Southport! 10 out of 10!

Great spot and friendly staff

The room was very nice and quiet. Shower and bathroom were very clean but small and cramped. I would recommend this location as the staff were very friendly and helpful. This location had a more pleasant and relaxed atmosphere than most hotels. The neighborhood was also very charming.

Very quaint inn and very personable owners. Nice location. But for the size of the room and bathroom and no breakfast the price was way to high.

We loved our stay! The bikes were a huge bonus. They made it so we could really see all of Southport! The room was just what we needed for a quick overnight.

Foremost the customer service was exceptional, very clean and comfortable. Loved the swing outside of my room. They provided a 2 cups coffeemaker instead of 1 pod ,loved that. Just the little things give you a sense of home. High recommend The Inn

Weekend getaway to relax and refresh. Quaint little hotel that was absolutely perfect. Great communication by staff, and follow up to make sure all was good with my stay. Highly recommend this little gem.

Rooms have been renovated and are nice. It was clean and smelled good. Specific room I had, bathroom was tiny. Hard to move in the shower. Toilet behind the door. But overall clean. Service was magnificent. Easy to get in touch if you need anything. Staff super nice. Would recommend.

We enjoy the old fashion motor lodge. This was located right on the Main Street - Howe St., convenient to everything Southport has to offer. Was very clean, AC worked great. Bathroom is small but functional, the bed was a bit hard for me as I suffer from hip pain. The premises is very well kept . Cozy swings, rocking chairs located on front porch, outside door to motel rooms. I didn’t give a 5 star, only because of hard mattress.

Loved: Very convenient to waterfront and dining/shopping. Very clean. Responsive customer service. Room for Improvement: Expensive for a "no frills" motel, some mild street noise, small bathrooms.

The Inn is adorable! We highly recommend staying here, it is walking distance to literally everything. This was my first trip to Southport and we will definitely be returning. The room was very clean, we enjoyed the swing on the porch area, and the outdoor area with the table and connect 4. Don't sleep on Fishy fishy for dinner or the "Local" for breakfast!

Our stay was nostalgic for us because the inn reminded us of our first motel stay 47 years ago in Boone, NC. It is a quaint motel with everything we needed!
