we managed to get a Pokemon room for a surprise for our son and it was at the level of our expectations. the hotel location is very convenient as minutes walk from train station , without any noise.

Location is great; close to Kyoy Station. Easy access to JR Hachijo gate, Karasuma Line, and Shinkansen where it is kess crowded than the Central gates. 7-11 just around the corner.
Staff is friendly, laundry facility is convenient, well stocked full kitchen! Love washers in Japan. They all dispense detergent automatically!

We recently stayed at Mimaru Kyoto Station and it was one of our most pleasant experiences while vacationing in a foreign country. While the hotel room itself was great, the highlight was the high quality staff at Mimaru. We had the pleasure of interfacing with several staff but want to specifically recognize Yuko, Maya, Anh and Mac for helping us make our visit to Kyoto memorable. They provided us with recommendations on places to seein Kyoto, restaurants, shopping and transportation options to make the visit easy. All staffers were fluent in English which was a big help. We spent 2 days at Yumotokan in Otsu and because they were unable to communicate in English, the Mimaru Staff helped us by talking to the Yumotokan staff. Our appreciation for the Mimaru staff increased significantly when we moved to Tokyu Stay in Tokyo where unfortunately, the staff neither could help with any tourism information, nor could they communicate in English. Additionally, Tommaso from Mimaru Kyoto helped us understand how New Years Eve was celebrated in Tokyo.
2024 started with unfortunate incidents in Japan with the earthquake in the Kanazawa area and the plane accident. We were scheduled to visit Kanazawa right after the earthquake hit and it was very gracious on Maya's part to check on us to make sure that we were safe. This was well after we had checked out of Mimaru and this gesture is testament to the nature of the Mimaru staff. We will recommend Mimaru Kyoto Station to all our friends.

The front desk was very helpful and the hotel is such a short walk to the Shinkansen entrance. The room was spacious and comfortable.

The staff are very helpful and friendly and can communicate in English very well. We are a family of 4 with 2 kids. The room is spacious with a dining area and all necessary utensils. Very ideal for family after a tired long walk and just want to chill in the room with take-away.

Nice sized rooms for a family, great staff, and really great for the kids. They had a "Bingo" check list, where as the kids visit or complete an experience ("Try gyoza," "Visit the Train Museum," etc.), and they complete a row, they would be able to get a gacha from the mini-vending machine. It's also a block from the Kyoto Train Station and within walking distance from restaurants, coffee, desserts, and shopping.

Fantastic ApartHotel right in the centre of Kyoto. Lovely warm welcome from the team. Everything was "can do" and friendly. Would unreservedly recommend this place. Do take time to sit on the roof terrace and watch the trains go by :)

Recently stayed 5 nights at this fantastic apartment. The staff were outstanding, with great English and a very friendly manner. The check in/check out was quick and they held our luggage before the 3pm check in with no hassle. The room was outstanding. Comfy beds and pillows, great amenities, and fantastic water pressure in the shower. A very short walk to Kyoto station makes this apartment a dream hotel. Good laundry facilities, and they had an iron and ironing board to lend when needed. I can’t speak highly enough of this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Outstanding.

This was a magnificent stay. We were in the ground floor garden room and it was gorgeous. Was originally worried it would be noisy near the lifts and lobby but once the door shut, you couldn't hear a thing!
We stayed with our 2 daughters (3 and 7) and they loved it. The room is laid out perfectly, the kitchen is all you need, and the staff are SO lovely and helpful.
The location of the station is what we needed for some day trips, so around the area isn't all that interesting, but it worked great for us as there was a lot of dining over at the station and there was a 7/11 literally on the corner. Would easily and very happily stay there again.

Beautiful and spacious, catered well for family of four. Staff communication varied greatly. Check in staff was knowledgeable and spoke fluent English. We had to change rooms after 3 nights because it was not available for the fourth. This process could have been improved.
1. Unlike other places, we could not leave our packed luggage for staff to move into new rooms. We had to take them down to reception.
2. Despite paying for 4 nights at check in, upon changing rooms, we had to check out of old room and wait til check in time. Which is not an issue, as we spent the whole day out. However, we realised we did not have a key pass to access the hotel after hours and so had to rush back from Osaka to check into new room by 10pm.
3. I fed this back to staff and suggested it would be better to give us a keycard to access the building even when our room was not ready when changing rooms. This process was stressful, especially with two young kids trying to rush back by 10pm. I was then told I didn’t have to rush, and can call security to let us in. This was not explained to me when I clearly informed the staff my plans for the day.

Perfect place for easy access to the train station… you go go anywhere you want, just walk across the street !
The staff was past amazing… they even walked us outside to make sure we got going in the proper direction! They got us cabs and made sure the driver knew where to take us. Their English excellent … can’t say enough !

I traveled with the family. Sometime I need to heat up the food, cut the fruit. I have a nice little kitchen in the room for that. Good place to vacation

Property locates on a perfect location, near Kyoto train/subway/bus station but it is very quiet. Our room was facing the bullet train station but we didn't hear any noise, good windows insulation. Front desk, Anh, provided us an A customer service and she was able to provide us a detailed transportation guide with all the layout of which bus/subway to take and time of the catching the bus during the time we were almost stuck inside the hotel during the typhoon. Her hospitality is greatly appreciated. I could not ask for more from Anh. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!

This is a great location across from Kyoto Station. It was a perfect base to get to all the sites. We stayed at Mimaru hotels in Tokyo and Osaka and this one had the largest room. Overall, we had a great stay and the kids loved the bunk beds.

This was a great hotel. The only thing that was kind of strange was that you had to pay for your laundry service. And the amenities were outside the room instead of inside the room. But the staff was helpful and kind. Rooms or nice and large. Could stay.

Very clean and well maintained, and conveniently located within walking distance of Kyoto station. Staff was friendly and helpful. Five of us stayed comfortably in the room and were able to prepare breakfast and snacks. Definitely would recommend!

The Mimaru had a great location near the train station which was great for our day trips. The hotel was quiet and clean. We had a garden room which was nice for the outdoor space and large room size but could be a little noisy at times since it was on the ground floor near the elevators. I would return here again, but would stay on a higher floor next time. The staff was friendly and helpful. Usually I am a little apprehensive of staying near train stations but this area was quiet and very clean.

No frills, but frills aren’t needed when you’re directly across the street from Kyoto Station. The property is elegant, clean, reasonably priced. Highly recommend for international travelers new to Japan.

The staff were very friendly, easy check in & out. Room was large enough for a family. Having a kitchenette was great. Laundry onsite was nice, dryers did not dry well though. Beds were quite firm & not very comfortable. Location to the train station was wonderful for getting around.
