Property is located in great location with parking provided. There is tons of construction in front of the hotel and around so it is noisy but this is the case for most of Tulum right now.

Unfortunately it is not are expected

The room was very dusty. The floor was filthy. I had to ask for a cloth to wipe down the furniture. The breakfast area didn’t have much condiments like syrup for example. There were ants crawling all along the space. Not very sanitary. Pool was not clean so we didn’t end up going in. There is construction all around the building. No fresh air was available due to windows being screwed shut. Barely any hot water in the shower. The room looks good in photos, lacking in person.

Great hotel, welcoming lobby, really beautiful. However, telling us the room next door would only be separated by a sliding door would have been appreciated, we didn't felt we were in a private suite.

Loved staying here it was SUPER convenient. Right next to the main strip in La Veleta, a nice cheap and delicious taco stand, full kitchen, quiet, convenient. The only thing missing was if the pool got some sun :( then it would be PERFECT! Still would stay again :)

Hotel was cute, comfortable bed, clean and spacious. They helped bring luggage up the stairs which was very much appreciated. The hotel itself is very close to many restaurants and shopping downtown!

Nice garden, nice room and confortable bed. The pool area is pretty nice as well BUT our room was separated from the only guest's one by a sliding door. You can hear everything, from the cell phone vibration to the whispering of the other guests. Even the light come through from the side and the bottom of the door. We shorted our stay. If intimacy and quietness matters, be advised.

Very friendly staff. We checked in and we were suprised to have a bigger room than expected.
Very beautiful place. I recommend

First of all, this property is beautiful. In the middle of Tulum neighborhoods I did not expect such a beautiful oasis. With its tall wood fences and stone walls the interior open courtyard with pool is a piece of paradise, hammocks over the pool, trees and hanging lights. We stayed in one of the ground floor penthouse units for only $215 US, it had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, even a washing machine. It had a personal patio with hammock and small lounging pool. Couldn't believe the amount of space for the price. Free breakfast was provided in the morning, I cannot really judge its quality because it is the only hotel breakfast I had in Mexico, so I don't know what is standard. It was self serve from a bar with several options, the patio area we ate at was by the pool and very pleasant. Overall we were very impressed by the hotel, and would have enjoyed staying there longer.

We loved staying in this resort. Is clean, beautiful and the staff is very friendly. Parking on the property is easy and there are many stores and restaurants nearby. I highly recommend.

Located very close to the Tulum Downtown, this property is cozy, spacious, and romantic. Rooms are well maintained, and come with a fully stocked kitchen. Room with a private pool can be booked for a small additional fee. Highly recommend this place for a short stay. It is good for families as well. Hotel had converted the futon into a bed for us.
Hotel staff is kind and helpful. We could purchase tickets to Casa Tortuga Cenote from the hotel lobby itself and they gave us helpful suggestions to explore the area, for eg Boca Paila is the party place.
It is a 2 hour drive from the Cancun Airport, and there is free parking at the property. Breakfast is included and it entails - bread, milk, coffee, cereal, compile your own nachos, scrambled egg, pancake, and condiments. Hammocks are placed in all parts of the property, giving it a dreamy feeling. Other co-habitants of the property were very sweet, and breakfast time was the perfect time to socialise. Would definitely recommend this place for an affordable yet beautiful stay.

Expedia has a glitch on the system on same-day reservations where I needed the 22nd and it was bumped to the 23 We had to pay for one extra day for this error on the app not happy

It’s seems like a nice place, but the cleaning was very bad and therefore it all looked dirty and not taking cared of.
We had a room with private pool, but it was more like a big bathtub that wasn’t clean and felt greasy.

The property itself was absolutely charming with a boho feel and charm. The stay came with breakfast but everyday we went down for breakfast they were out of food and coffee. The room was charming and spacious with basic needs covered. The bedroom light in my bedroom stopped working so I informed the front desk person and it’s still not working. The pool was lovely but the noise from construction across the street was unbearably loud so our swims were limited. Also know the walls are thin so you’ll hear your neighbors so bring ear plugs. I’d still recommend this place overall especially for the price.

Overall we loved staying here :) The staff was very friendly and the rooms were great for the price. The pool area was so beautiful and the kitchen in the room was fully supplied with very clean and well working pots and pans that made it easy for us to grocery shop and eat at the hotel. The area before getting into the hotel isn’t the prettiest but inside is pretty nice. Also, the rooms need a few improvements a few of the pillows were dirty and need to be removed and replaced, the couch was dirty and needs a good scrub, and some of the walls need to be repainted but nothing crazy ! These were very small things that didn’t stop us from having a great stay here :)

Amazing staff that's their best asset they were the best service we got on 4 different hotels we visited on this trip

Amaka overall was a good hotel just needs a little work to maintain it. It has great pictures on the hotel website. However the pictures make the place look nicer than in person. Stayed in the luxury apartment with private pool facing the garden and public pool. Although the pics online looked beautiful, the inside was not so. The walls of our room and tv screen were dirty. We had no bath soap or gel, Just shampoo/conditioner or hand soap. There is mosquitos everywhere which is not their fault but they were all in our apartment from the first day so we got bit even while sleeping. The A/C in the room doesn’t seem to cool much. We kept it off while away and only turned it on at night. It is very decently priced compared to other hotels in the tulum area and it does include a light breakfast at your convenience. They have milk, coffee, juice, cereal, scrambled eggs, toast or waffles which you prepare for yourself. They offer free bikes to get around from 7am-7pm or scooter rentals cash only. The scooter was convenient to get around the town and to the beach strip which was only like 14 mins away. The staff is very nice, friendly and helpful to any of your needs. They also give you info to help you book your transportation to the cancun airport which can cost anywhere from $100-$150 per vehicle depending which company you chose.

The price of this hotel is literally unbeatable. You can get a full kitchen and a private pool for a very low price. The staff is unbelievably friendly. This was my second time here n I again stayed two weeks. Love it.

really nice property and so clean, about 10 mins to the tulum hotel zone and a few minutes drive or cycle to the beach. this place is around the downtown worth exploring for

The architecture and design of this property is absolutely stunning.
Unfortunately, the pool/ walkway area was unswept and dirty appearing all 4 days of our stay.
There is construction going on across the road which caused a lot of noise.
Local children were swimming in the pool all days of our stay wearing regular clothing which wasn’t super relaxing when you are trying to chill by the pool.
The property does give you access to free bikes to use - which are in very very rough shape. We had to stop and pay to have tires inflated.
There are mopeds for rent, 42$ USD for 24h which was convenient and fun.
Would definitely not recommend taking a local taxi - pricing is insane!!
Highly recommend Ki’Bok coffee and Taco Bish - both within walking distance.

Best resort I’ve been to. Staff were great and it was always clean
4.0
The property itself was very nice and well-maintained. The pool is lovely if a bit smaller than it seems in the pictures and in the central courtyard of the hotel. Kitchen could be a bit better equipped (tea towels, safe knives) but very workable and the rooms/apartments are very pleasant. Not the fault of the hotel but there is a lot of construction going on in the area so expect dust and some building noise.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Amaka Calma Riviera Tulum. The pool and amenities, such as the gym were fantastic. Great location in walking distance to a bunch of restaurants/bars.

We have been to the property in november 2022 spending very nice time. Came back in march 2023 and had a luxury apartment type
room dirty with stained sheet and stain / damaged walls. we left after the first night because at 8 am construction workers around the property started drilling

Kudos to the photgrapher, makes this place look alot better than it is. The staff are lovely and welcoming, however the room was disappointing, there is no soundproofing, we could hear everything from next door, and i mean everything! The kitchenette had one plate, one mug, one glass, a spoon and a knife, like just dont bother if you’re not going to stock it properly. The lack of privacy on the decking area was also concerning.

The staff was super attentive and nice!! We left very early and one of the staff walking towards our building saw us on the 2nd floor with our luggages and came right up to help us bring them down. Check-in was easy along with check-out. Our room was private, spacious (had a mini kitchen/ living room), and very clean.

This was my second time travelling internationally, first time not at an all-inclusive resort. Not going to lie, I was nervous about it going in.
The staff at Amaka Calma made us feel welcome from the moment we pulled into the lot after a long delayed day of travel. They spoke English to us at the start seeing how exhausted we were.
The next morning after a night of restful sleep in the well AC'd bedroom, I tried to have a conversation in Spanish with the front desk and he was incredibly patient with me, slipping in and out of English to make sure I understood where the conversation was going. This was the continued pattern for the rest of our stay. Greatly appreciated!
Beyond the bilingual support, we also were given great details around where to eat, how to take public transit, and about the wonderful Casa Tortuga Cenote experience that we got a discount with through the hotel. Casa Tortuga was the peak moment of our trip, so grateful Amaka Calma had the discounted experience for it!
The amenities were great. The room was super spacious with a well-stocked kitchen. The outdoor double level patio was incredible and a great place to spend the early mornings and late nights. The gym got the job done.
This was the 2nd time travelling internationally, and unlike the 1st time, I did not want to leave and already want come back. A big part of this was how nice our home base was. When we go back in a few years, we'll certainly look to see if they're open. HIGHLY recommend!

Spent a week. We're a retired couple and we found Amaka Calma to be very relaxing, very quiet -- a perfect place to enjoy a tropical climate and setting while just "hanging out". We set our own pace. Staff were very friendly. Good value

Really good value for money. This place was a lovely base for our time in Tulum. It’s at the edge of town, so it’s a longish walk or bikeride to the beach but I loved the area as it still has jungle around it and has a number of classy eating options and boutiques. Meaning after a long day you could still have a good night just staying in the area.
The hotel is fantastic. So good that we rebooked it when we passed back through Tulum again. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, lovely pool, free filtered water and coffee. Both rooms we stayed in were nice - pool view with balcony was nice as it looked out into tall trees and therefore was a little cooler naturally. The jungle view was good for different reasons - big windows and light filled overlooking a patch of undeveloped jungle, though this room did get hotter due to the light and air con was necessary. I would absolutely stay here again and I hope it’s still as affordable if we do come back. It’s quite easy to spend a lot of money in Tulum so I was glad to save money on accommodation
