Although I always go by reviews I don’t usually leave one unless something absolutely exceeded my expectations but I have to say this stay was NOT great….
1. Front desk not friendly
2. Automatic doors do not work when entering. They ask you to manually slide the door and slide it back once you’re in.
3. A lot of cosmetic work that is needed
4. The tub had a sticky residue
5. The carpet in the room had a bad smell.
6. Fridge in the room was at max and it was barely cold.
7. Beds were ok
I definitely will not be coming back.

The stay was quiet and the room was a nice size. The lady at the check in was however very unfriendly. She wouldn’t stand to greet me and I felt I was interrupting her television show she was watching.

This hotel used to be Comfort Inn and my family stayed there many times. For a shore hotel it is fine. They were not doing breakfast like they have in the past and that is a shame.The clerk that handled our check in was very helpful but you can see that they are still finding their way as a new hotel.

We used to stay here all the time when it was called something else, however between the broken front door, questionable cleanliness of the sheets and towels, sticky floors, and crappy cable package it’s clear that the new ownership group is going to try to squeeze every cent out of this place at the expense of any repeat customers

The room was clean, bed good, working fridge, desk, dresser, arm chair. No microwave, but a couple available in the kitchen area. Absolutely fine - especially for the price.

Hotel looks “tired”… holes in the lampshade, broken switch on the floor lamp, peeling wallpaper, stained mattress cover.
However, the room and bathroom were clean, as were the linens. The bed was comfortable.

I visited during “off season” for this area. Aside from the highway noise, my stay was pleasant.

Lady checking me in was just angry. Never maid eye contact. Just said what do you want while checking me in. Then when i got to the room it eas dirty. No towels, big stane on the comforter then pulled it back an the sheets were dirty. When i went back down to the front desk. I had to deal with a angry person that wasnt helpful. She acted like i was lying about the room. She said you can either change the sheets your self our leave. We argued finally i got to another room. But bad staff will kill this place.

The room stunk , furniture was worn, only 1 chair in the room for 4 people, tv screen had a scratch across it , no phone is room no clock radio, bath soap was so small, the heater/ ac unit filter was so bad it took me 15 mins to clean , carpet had bif spots that had been pulled out. When thei place was a Choice Hotel it was very nice now I would not want my worst enemy stay here . Front desk staff was just ok .

The property was relatively clean and safe. The price was right for two nights. Check in and out was quick and easy. We had difficulty getting another wash cloth. There were 2 of us, but we only got one. We asked for another and we were told they didn't have anymore - we would have to trade out the one we had for another one. The third person we asked brought us 2 clean washcloths.

Overall I was very happy with my stay. The hotel was clean, quiet and completely smoke free. The staff was friendly and helpful. I only had a few little issues, nothing major, just annoying. The first was no screen on the window, there was only one wastebasket in the room, none in the bathroom and no drain covers in the sink or tub. When you took a shower the water filled up in the tub because the drain was so clogged with hair. I'm being nit picky, but those were the only issues I had. I actually really liked it there.

I love this hotel i go very often i have a great stay everytime i go i have nothing bad to say about it.

Avon is a decent hotel at a fair price, strategically situated 15 minutes from the bridge to the barrier island. Don't expect a lot of creature comforts. We were exploring the beaches and boardwalk of Ocean County over the Labor Day weekend, with that said we did not spend a lot of time in the hotel. The carpet could use replacement, the main front door was inop had to use the side entrance.
