We were very comfortable here and loved the convenience of being close to downtown Arcata. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Arcata.

This apartment was exactly as advertised. Very clean with comfortable beds! Arcata is such a cute town and you cannot beat the proximity to many Redwoods parks! We absolutely loved our stay!

Unfortunately last minute we had to rearrange our stay due to a family emergency. I contacted the owner and he was so amazing to work with me and come up with a solution since we missed the cancellation date. I can’t wait to actually stay at his home in the near future. Our daughter will be attending Cal Poly Humboldt so we plan on staying up in that area several weekends throughout the year.

The apartment was immaculate and very comfortable. It was perfect for me and a friend who were revisiting our old college town and college campus (HSU alumni 1978). Stayed three nights. Easy walk to restaurants, shops, and the local co-op grocery store. Only issue was the gas fireplace didn’t work during most of our stay and even though the host, Larry, was very responsive and did everything he could to get it fixed quickly, the earliest a service person was available to come was the on the last full day of our stay so we were only able to enjoy a fire in the fireplace on the last night. Since the apartment also had a thermostat control central heating system it did not get cold. We wanted to start the fireplace mostly for ambiance even though when it did work that last night it warmed up the apartment pretty good. I definitely will stay here again.

This is a small but very nice apartment in the center of Arcata (there is some noise from the street but on the other hand within walking distance there are a few restaurants, cafes and stores), in close proximity to many Redwood parks. Super comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen - coffee pods and tea included which was a nice and unexpected surprise. Very easy self check-in and excellent communication with the host. Great value for money overall.

We used the apartment as base for trips to the Redwood National and State Parks and we had a fantastic stay! The kitchen was excellent and the bedroom was cozy and comfortable, Having an assigned parking was a huge convenience, and the quiet surroundings made for a relaxing atmosphere.

Loved the location which was walkable to everything we needed. Because the unit was upstairs, the natural sunlight was nice and it felt very private. We loved relaxing, cooking a few meals, and planning our next adventures. Thank you for all the surprise extras: microwave popcorn, small pack Oreos, olive oil and a few spices, scissors, nice selection of teas/coffee. Your place would be our first choice if we ever return!!! Highly recommended.

Fantastic location, and really comfortable accommodations. Appreciated that the rooms were identical so there was no "fighting" over who got which. Beds were SUPER comfortable and the linens and bedspread were designed for chilly Arcata evenings. Off street parking was tight for our SUV (Hyundai Palisade) so keep this in mind if you're in something larger like a Tahoe or Suburban. Absolutely stellar communication from the host. Already talking about returning and would absolutely stay here again.

Absolutely loved staying at Joy and Larry's place in Arcata, and will definitely will do so again if allowed! A very comfortable space located right near the Town Square and a fantastic sandwich shop down the block (Hole-In-The-Wall Sandwiches), a must-visit. All-in-all, a very pleasant experience and accommodations, and would recommend to anyone seeking a comfortable spot in downtown.

This cozy apartment was perfectly located for our visit—a short walk to the plaza and a short drive to Humboldt Poly, which our grandson wanted to visit.

Location is in the heart of Arcata! Everything is within walking distance. Amazing farmers market around the corner on Saturday, hatchet throwing in the afternoon and dinner/drinks all within 2 blocks. Comfortable beds, great water pressure. Will be back here soon! Thank you!

This was an ideal apartment for our purposes to visit Cal Poly Humboldt. The owner/manager is very communicative and attentive to making certain your stay is enjoyable. The apartment is clean, the beds comfortable, and the amenities adequate. The kitchen has everything we needed to prepare the meals we needed to prepare. Good restaurants and markets nearby within walking distance. Liked the extra touches of popcorn, coffee and tea. Car port is tight if you have a large vehicle, but street parking is also available.

Clean, cozy, and convenient. First time we stayed here during our planned hike to Fern Canyon in Orick. Easy walking distance to plenty of places to eat.

The neighborhood is quiet and seemed safe. The downtown lacked charm, but there were several good places to eat.

Great location, nice and clean

We attended Cal Poly Humboldt Graduation & rented a car. This cute property was amazingly clean and beautifully decorated. Our morning walks were to Los Bagels, downtown plaza for HSU merchandise, Dining at Plaza Grill & Humboldt Brews. We found Fesh Leis at Safeway close by & stopped into quaint Septentrino winery spot next door was a golden bonus. We did rent a car and drove to Trinidad & Eureka, so coming back to this beautiful Home away from Home made out stay exceptional. It met all our needs and beyond. We would love to return.

We booked this place between trips to see the Redwoods further south and National Redwood Forest in the north, it was the perfect ‘in between’ spot. The apartment was exactly as described/pictured, very easy to find and close to everything. I appreciated the designated parking and how easy it was to use the door code. There are plenty of fluffy towels and extra blankets and pillows, plus the beds are super comfortable. We didn’t really cook but the kitchen looked well appointed and there’s a Keurig for coffee and tea. It was also very quiet. We really enjoyed walking to the Plaza and other restaurants close by - the Salt Fish and Brio were standouts. There are a small number of homeless people in the neighborhood and our hostess at the restaurant told us the plaza can get a bit rowdy at night but overall we felt very safe. The rental was a great value too as it was priced better than a lot of similar accommodations around. Highly recommmend!

My family (myself, husband and two young boys) stayed here for 4 nights and had a great time. The accommodations were perfect. The beds were comfy, kitchen was stocked with the essentials to cook, and the living room was perfect to cozy up and unwind at the end of the day. We loved the proximity to downtown. We walked around, went to the farmers market on Saturday and even walked to a Crabs baseball game! Amazing location!! Highly recommend this spot and Larry was a great host-available and communicative! 5 stars for sure!

The apartment was perfect! Friends and I rented Memorial Day weekend. It was very clean and quiet, but within walking distance to restaurants, the Plaza and the wonderful Saturday market. The apartment had everything we needed and the kitchen was very well equipped.

Nice apartment and owners was attentive and great with communication. We found it easily and it was just as described. There are many places to walk to nearby to get coffee or eat. The apartment was clean and comfy. It’s a pretty basic setup and was perfect for our needs. We were gone seeing the many wonderful area sites most of our time and enjoyed the place to sleep at night. Would recommend for this area.

Very comfortable and clean. Beds were great and tv-internet was good. Owner was on site and checked to see if anything was needed. Would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I drove from Aptos to spend time with our daughter for her College Graduation 😍 Our stay here has been great. The apartment was very clean and homey. Enjoyed the fireplace in the evening and the beds were so comfortable. Larry the owner was so very nice and answered my questions sometimes more than once. 😆 We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice place close to the redwood parks. It had everything we needed and the location was great. We could get to the parks pretty quickly and explore the nearby towns. The check in/out process was easy and Larry was very nice and easy to communicate with. Overall very comfortable and convenient.
