This holiday at the Setsu was a birthday present for my wife, who works hard in the medical field. We were not disappointed and in fact pleasantly surprised at this new hotel in Hirafu. The hotel service was outstanding and the room was beautifully designed with numerous extra appliances (washing machine, dishwasher) that my wife loved. This hotel challenges the five-star Park Hyatt in quality of stay, yet charges half the rates of that top-ranked hotel. The staff kindly wrote a a personal birthday card for her, and a birthday cake waiting in the refrigerator. We were touched by the personal service. Later I met the hotel manager, Ms. Tomata, to express my appreciation. Finally, the private onsen, public onsen, yoga classes and workout gym were a luxury bonus that we enjoyed.

For Hokkaido residents, hotels charging for parking is unusual and leaves a poor impression. I would like that fee reconsidered in order to attract more local guests.

very well designed modern and comfortable room, with smart TV, dishwasher, wash machine and all the kitchen appliances. had dinner at méli mélo the French-Italian restaurant, food was delicious. coffee made by an Italian barista was the best I had in Hokkaido.

stunning, so spacious, modern, clean and comfortable. everything you could ever need within the hotel and if not then within walking distance. we’ll stay again and again!

we loved almost everything about Setsu. the ski lockers, easy shuttle, breakfasts, architecture.

we stayed for a week, 7 days, but changed rooms midweek. the second room we were in smelled terribly of mildew. they came to look but couldn’t really do anything about it. they did not offer any type of discount and we were very disappointed given that it is a very expensive place and for us, a special splurge.

The bathroom is very spacious with a huge tub, the floor is heated. the breakfast was pretty good, the shuttle bus and the locker service are very convenience. The house keeping service were done very well everyday! and i love that rythm (ski shop) is just at the ground floor, super convenience for returning rental gears.

the king size bed for two is two single beds combined into one, there is always a gap in between of two mattresses. this is the only thing that we are unsatisfed with.

we loved the facilities, staff, is very conveniently located walking distance to a lot of restaurants and the fact that you have ski lockers and rental all in the same hotel is amazing. would def come back and recommend to everyone.

the pillows were uncomfortable but the staff can bring you different ones upon request.
