Close to the beach and game nights on the rooftop deck! Highly recommend

Pam and Jimmy’s home was comfortable, close to the beach and walkable to boardwalk, shops and restaurants. Well stocked with so many things you might need and more, in terms of kitchen condiments and pots pans dishes, linens, bathroom supplies, extra toothbrushes, soap. Was just like home, only better!. Everything was in perfect working order, plus a garage for parking and shareables; 6-7 bicycles, beach chairs , boogie boards, wagons umbrellas and beach toys. Roof top deck was great with 2 fire pits, cafe lights and comfortable seating. The fireplace in the living room was wonderful as well. Beds and pillows were comfortable, nice linens and towels. We were very happy and felt fortunate to be staying in this well appointed comfortable home. A booklet describing things to do, places to eat, how things in the house worked and how to prepare before leaving was specific and so helpful. Communication was instant, Pam checked in by text to see if we were good during our stay, fast responses before and after booking. This home is in the top 3 of our many VRBO rentals. The cookies, wine and personalized greeting left for our arrival was so appreciated. Thank you Pam and Jimmy.

We had an amazing stay! I can’t say enough incredible things about the remarkable hospitality we received from our host. From the personal communication before we arrived to the delicious cookies and so many amenities when we got there to the follow up afterward when we left somethings behind and she shipped them to us. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here! We can’t wait to go back.

We really enjoyed this property. The owner thought of everything you may need for a trip to the beach or a bike ride to the pier. We took day trips to Hollywood, the Griffith Observatory, and the San Juan Capistrano Mission. The welcome sign, cookies, and bottle of wine was a nice surprise!

We had such a terrific time, only wish we could have stayed longer. Pam and Jimmy thought of everything to make their place so comfortable and welcoming. They left nothing out; from wine and cookies upon arrival to a garage full of adventure. The location was excellent and we were able to bike and walk everywhere. We would love to come back if we visit the area again. We loved the accommodations as well as the area.

It was so nice to be greeted by a welcome sign with cookies and a bottle of wine. The Shack was wonderful and such a convenient stay due to it being such a short walk to the beach in addition to all the amenities the shack provided! Pam was so helpful in our booking process and in giving us all the information we needed for our stay in Newport Beach. There were so many close restaurants, shops and grocery stores nearby and within walking distance. Having the bikes to ride around town and the beach chairs there made our stay so much better. Our family enjoyed our time.

The house was very nice, clean, and just as described. We liked the location, one short block 5 min walk to beach. Many restaurants, shops and supermarket within walking distance. House had rooftop that was nice to relax at night or sunbath. Central air, washer/dryer, she had lots of cooking utensils and BBQ grill. The location was great for car trips all within an hour or less: we did Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach, Santa Monica, Anaheim Angels game, Disney, Rodeo Drive, Hollywood Hills and Sunset/ Beverly Hills Boulevard for the week. Great host she was very accommodating and always quickly answered any questions. We will definitely be back. Thanks again!

This is one of our favorite rentals!! Pam goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed! We arrived to an immaculate and cozy place with a note, bottle of wine and homemade cookies! The location is perfect and Pam provides many suggestions for restaurants, outings, etc. The bikes were awesome and having a dedicated garage to park was not typical for the area and so nice!! Beds were super comfortable! We enjoyed our week and will definitely stay here again if visiting Newport Beach!

From the moment we entered the impeccably clean condo (with a bottle of wine and cookies for a welcome), we just kept having one pleasant surprise after another. We felt right at home with a super-stocked kitchen (coffee pods, blender, spices, etc.) and every bath supply you could ever need (I was out of contact solution and could NOT believe there was a bottle in the cabinet). Beds were comfy, layout is great for a family of 4, and although it poured rain the entire stay, the rooftop deck would be an incredible spot to eat meals or relax in the sun. I can’t say anything about the beach, because of said weather, but it’s super close, and the garage is as well-stocked as the rest of the rental. The kids were so disappointed not to be able to use any of it. We will have to try again next time. We live in a very rural, quiet town, so if you’re not used to cars going by on streets below, don’t forget earplugs.

What a wonderful month-long VRBO experience at Pam & Jimmy's Shack - which is anything but a shack. Everything was as advertised - fully stocked kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, towels, bikes, beach equipment. Roof-top deck - awesome! One of our most comfortable VRBO stays anywhere in the world. And our hosts were the best!! Highly communicative before and during our stay. Minor issues taken care of immediately and with a smile. Great restaurants every-time. The Boardwalk was a daily must regardless of the weather (which didn't always cooperate). We walked the peninsula all the time and enjoyed it. My son lives in the area, so this isn't our first stay. I always check to see if "The Shack" is available when planning a visit to Newport Beach. There are so many positives - The host, Pam, is easy to communicate with. Check in and out are easy. Instructions are well communicated. It's always nice to arrive to find a welcome message with a bottle of wine and cookies. I usually cook at least 1 night and the kitchen is well equipped. I love the bikes and beach chairs that are provided. The location is amazing. It's an easy walk to the Lido village as well as the restaurants on the boardwalk and it's so close to the beach! Thanks again for having us! We'll be back

The Shack is the perfect location - close to the beach, close to the grocery store, easy on/off the island. The amenities are top notch - both small and large. We love to use the bikes and the other items in the garage (chairs, boogie boards, frisbee, wiffle bat/balls). And inside, the handful of spices/condiments, foil, ziplocs - it's the small things that make this place so comfortable. I realized halfway through our trip that I needed to charge my Kindle - went downstairs and found a cord I could use. Pam is super easy to communicate with and very responsive. I almost hesitate to share this wonderful unit in case someone books it when we want it! Love the Shack!!!

We read all the prior reviews on how great this property is so we had high expectations coming in… All of those expectations were blown away with how excellent The Shack is! The property is beautiful, functional, and incredibly well-stocked and maintained! There were crystal clear instructions answering every question we had while we were there, and the plentiful amount of beach toys, chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, etc. put it over the top. Pam is the best VRBO host we could have ever hoped for. Thank you, Pam! We will certain e back for our next trip!

We had the best time staying here for a week and can't wait to rebook for next year. Plenty of room for the 4 of us to spread out. We were so glad to have garage parking and be a block away from the beach - we walked down to the Newport Pier several times and the Pavilions grocery store is a 4 minute walk. Nobu was a hit for my Mom's birthday. 25-30 min drive to get to Disney. Nothing bad to say about this lovely home :) Pam is a terrific host!

We had the best time staying here for a week and can't wait to rebook for next year. Plenty of room for the 4 of us to spread out. We were so glad to have garage parking and be a block away from the beach - we walked down to the Newport Pier several times and the Pavilions grocery store is a 4 minute walk. Nobu was a hit for my Mom's birthday. 25-30 min drive to get to Disney. Nothing bad to say about this lovely home :) Pam is a terrific host!

The best!
My family had so much fun staying here. The quick and easy walk to the beach, pier, stores and restaurants make it a perfect location. The house is beautifully upgraded and stocked with every amenity you can think of to make your stay stress free. The garage parking is a big plus. The host Pam is easy to reach if you have any questions or concerns. We have already booked our next stay!

The house was perfectly sized, with a beautiful deck on the top to enjoy the evenings. The house had everything (and extras!) and the garage is full of bikes, chairs, toys, and all you need to enjoy the beach. Highly recommend this property!

My husband and teenage daughters loved our time here! A special welcome package from our host was so unexpected and fun! The bikes were awesome! We rode them to the Balboa ferry and had lunch on the island. The kitchen was well equipped complete with Keurig for morning coffee. The whole house was spotless and cozy. Just a couple blocks from the beach. We walked the beach, grocery store within walking distance too. After a day out in the sun it was nice to retire in the comfortable beds! Overall 5 out of 5!!
