We love staying here. Our only complaints are
- the pillows were odd - small, hard, and lumpy
- the toilet was low
- parking is $25 a day
We will stay here again. It’s very convenient and a beautiful hotel. The free breakfast is was great too!

This hotel is definitely showing its age. It's very outdated and run down for its price range. It's not "bad" per se, but it is certainly not a nice hotel. Shower/tub was old and ugly with previous screw holes patched. I certainly wouldn't have a bath in it, but shower was fine. Shelf above the "kitchen" counter was sagging and unable to hold anything without it sliding off. A nice touch was 3 different bottles of wine (red, white, rose) in the fridge for $35 each. Overpriced compared to the liquor store, but a little less than standard restaurant price for the quality.
The check-in staff person was nice. There were others (manager I think) standing around behind the counter, not doing much apparently. Could have been an opportunity to engage since there was no one else around.
Stay was quiet, but not really due to soundproofing - there was just not many other guests. I could hear the staff banging around pretty easily in the morning.
Continental breakfast was a pleasant surprise, having scrambled eggs, potatoes and toast, along with standard orange/apple/fruitpunch juice and coffee/tea.
There was cereal too, I think, with orange slices too. I saw syrup, but didn't notice pancakes or waffles. I'm sure i just missed them. There was also a sign on the table saying bacon or sauauges were available for $5 each. Breakfast was a lot better than the standard croissant with coffee/tea.

The pillows are way to thick and hard. But otherwise it was an amazing stay.

Staff was excellent and friendly. Everything was well looked after and the continental breakfast was excellent. My wife and daughter have food allergies and the restaurant staff was very knowledgeable and responsive to make sure we all enjoyed it. The only partial negative would be the rooms could use some updating but that did not stop us from enjoying our stay and will stay here again.

Overall we had a great stay. Our room was quite comfortable and spacious. Being an older hotel, its furnishings and decor (in the suites) was a bit dated, but still comfortable enough. The location was great for our purposes.

The parking was $25 a night and then the parking garage was full so parked outside in the Cambridge lot but still had to pay $25.

A beautiful facility right at the foot of the Citadel Park. Walkable area to the Harbour and the Argyle Street Entertainment Districts. The Hotel is comfortable, the staff friendly and very helpful. The Canvas RestoLounge onsite has very tasty dining options. All in all, a great place!

Amazing as always. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Room was clean and a great size. With the new hrm parking app you can park anywhere in the evening and just add money for your zone in the morning so dont have to pay a lot for parking right downtown. Breakfast is very good with gluten friendly (nonceliac) options. Highly recommend

The welcome pet bag had treats and toys that our pups loved. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Excellent location to walk to restaurants. The tub needs something to help the drainage but everything else was perfect.

This hotel was in a very good location walking distance to many bars and restaurants. The king suite was plenty of space with a separated bedroom area with doors to close.

I booked this hotel for my mother to have a safe space near Spring Garden to satisfy her shopping needs. Sadly her 6 night stay in August was marred by the unsavory experience of not being refunded her caution deposit. She was told it would be refunded on the date of departure. Two weeks later when she called the Front Desk from overseas, she was told it takes longer. A month later when she called again, she was told “sometimes it takes months”. After 5 months of waiting, we wrote to all the email addresses, including going onto LinkedIn to find the email addresses of managers to send complaints to directly, to no avail. We are now sitting here in 2024 and it will be a year soon, and she still hasn’t been refunded. For such a prominent hotel to treat a customer like this is really a shame. She had nothing but compliments concerning her room, the staff during her stay, and the property itself. I hope someone reads this negative review and can actively resolve her situation.

This hotel lacks many of the qualities that have become standard in similar hotels. The check in process was overly complicated and I was charged $100 for “incidentals” on top of the usual deposit.
Parking was an additional $25
Rooms are tired to say the least. There is no cushion left in the cushions on the furniture. As other reviews have pointed out, hallway and adjoining room noise is very apparent.
An additional $5 charge for bacon and $6 for sausage highlights the continental breakfast.
If circumstances were different I would have not had the opportunity to try the room service for dinner, which was as underwhelming as the rest of my stay.
The only positive about this hotel is its location. There are, however, other hotels similarly located downtown that, according to my colleagues, do not have the same issues.
I will not be staying at this hotel for my next trip to Halifax and would not recommend it.

The stay was great! My only thing was the listing advertised a “full kitchen” but no oven…so not really a full kitchen. The write up said only a microwave, so a bit misleading. Luckily there was a superstore close by so I could purchase items for stove top vs oven, but definitely threw a wrench in my weekend. I had also called ahead to the hotel front desk to ask what kind of dish ware was available for the room and specifically asked if there was glass oven dishes…..so
Other than that room was awesome, clean, housekeeping was right there when needed
