Very enjoyable stay. Room was very nice. Staff very friendly Smart appearance Very quiet apart from passing trains. Will return in the future.

Great location, room fine, shower good, however Evening meal and breakfast dissapointing, quality of product poor and service slow. The hotel in need of a bit TLC

Nice repeat overnight stay at Carnoustie. Warm welcome by reception. Comfortable room overlooking the course. Good walk in shower. Good choice At evening meal . Again excellent service from friendly staff . Leisure facilities good. Would certainly return to this venue

Didn’t like that you had to book a precise time for breakfast , while you are on vacation

The staff are all lovely and helpful. The breakfast could not be faulted. But this isn't a 4 star hotel. It really doesn't tick the boxes for a 4 star hotel. The room was not as clean as we would have expected. There is damaged furniture, broken tiles in the bathroom (4 types of tile and none of them go together), black hairs on the bathroom door hinges, mouldy silicone, the shower screen deflector strip was spilt and bits on the carpets. Carpets throughout the hotel are old and stained. The room could definitely do to be refurbished. The gym equipment was in need of cleaning and the pool showers need modernised. Broken tiles, puddles, blown timbers, and rusty patches could been scene around the changing rooms and pool areas. The hotel certainly did not have the 4 star wow factor.

This is the third stay here, but compared to the previous stay this was disappointing. Throughout the hotel there needs to be a deep clean and a paint job ( outside as well) The quality of food and service has declined quite considerably, overall we came away disappointed.

Was a little disappointed, service at our meal wasn’t great, we sat with empty drinks for half an hour. Upgraded room to a suite but again disappointed with the room.

We were checked in on arrival by a friendly receptionist who was professional and helpful. The hotel was spacious with an amazing view of the golf course. The food in the restaurant was very nice. Congratulations to all the staff who worked hard to make our 2 night stay relaxing and enjoyable.

All staff very friendly. Great standard of cleanliness. Some things showing signs of general wear and tear...desk in room, cubicles in pool/spa changing rooms. Pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi all very good. Excellent tea/coffee trays in room. Good rainfall shower with plenty hot water. Drinks and food reasonably priced.Only complaint is lighting in the room...3 table lamps only giving a very dull glow...impossible to sit and read a book after dark. Very well situated for walks and visits to Dundee, Arbroath, St Andrews, Monifieth and more.

The hotel was very nice and the staff all very welcoming. We enjoyed the lounge and the pool for a nice chill out break away from home

This is the third time we've stayed here and once again it didn't disappoint. Nice and friendly at check in and then up to our suite with a great view from the balcony onto the 1st tee and 18th green on the Carnoustie championship course. We went down to the swimming pool later in the evening and were welcomed by a very friendly girl who used to train in fencing near us. The sword type rather than the garden variety. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic once again with the staff cheery and attentive. We will definitely be back for a forth time soon enough.

Fabulous hotel let down by a hissing radiator in room 129. Too hot as well. Could not turn radiator down or make it quiet. Wife eventually phoned reception twice at one and two in the morning as she could not sleep with the noise and heat - even with two windows open. We were moved to room 137. Much better but very interrupted night’s sleep. Food and service and swim pool and of course golf course all excellent

No fridge in my junior suite

Very clean room. Very uncomfortable bed. I let reception staff know as a courtesy, not a complaint so next visitor didnt have poor nights sleep and was told a load of excuses how I could have remedied it. Sore and tired as I walked away with the receptionist shouting " Hope you have a merry Christmas" inappropriate. This is our 3rd visit this year. I wont be rushing back. As a addon since im revewing. Sauna was hroken . Swim changing rooms tatty, the lockers are broken. And steam room door wont close corrwctly.

Fantastic hotel in a great location.

On check in the receptionist declared to my partner and i that my surprise bottle of prosecco and chocolates were already in the room thereby removing the surprise element. Room was very comfortable. Staff at breakfast and behind the bar were excellent. There are no safes in the room which i found very surprising (told i could leave valuables at reception. In 2023, really! We were wakened at 3am one morning with a fire alarm and gathered in the car park. We were allowed to return to our rooms on the say so of the hotel staff with the fire brigade attending. Its difficult to get in the pool as it appears to be used as a pseudo leisure club by the locals as opposed to a hotel exclusive spa. So that was disappointing. Would i stay here again? Yes i would. The hotel is a very acceptable level, the staff are wonderful, the location is excellent. Tweeks required.

Despite living in NE Scotland I had never visited Carnoustie. A chance meeting with a business colleague saw me stay there and I was very impressed by the hotel, staff, golf facilities (amazing) and the food. Highly recommend. I will be going back

Lovely location, cosy bar/lounge. Most staff were very engaging and pleasant, one or two of the younger staff need to smile and be positive, one young male in the bar area looked a little untidy and a bit bored. Room was very spacious, very comfortable bed, good heating control (we like it cold at night). Good sized bathroom and shower was excellent. Bathroom floor could have been cleaned better, especially in the corners where dirt/dust had gathered. Great car park facilities, simple &speedy check in.

All the staff were friendly and efficient a big plus for the hotel.

Wow .. My husband-to-be and I will fly back from New Zealand to stay here again anytime!!. What a beautiful place! We stayed four nights in the Paul Lawrie Suite on the second floor, overlooking the 18th Hol! Wow, what a room. We loved that you can fully open your balcony doors, pull up a seat, and watch the games from the comfort of your room. The food and service was beautiful. I highly recommend you have a meal next door at the Rookery . The steak is to die for! I will tell anyone visiting Scotland to come and stay here!

The staff where all so friendly and helpful

Was a lovely hotel and food great, portion sizes could be a tad bigger for dinner, but quality was good. Bed was comfy and the shower was excellent.
