The worst pillows in the world. I put two of them together and they were about 1/2 inch thick! there were 8 pillows in the room and every single one was about as thick as a sheet. I would have brought my own pillow but I forget to grab prior to leaving my house. and for the price of the rooms I would expect at least a decent pillow in the bunch!

Average stay. Hotel felt old and smelled of Pine Sol but didn't feel clean. Pillows were horrible.

The staff was great, but the overall interior of the hotel looked dated. Overall, room was clean, but the bed was not very comfortable, and the shower curtain rod would not stay up.

The water pressure was terrible. During a shower the water pressure would drop and the water would go cold. One of our hotel rooms had BB’s in the wall, the shower in the other room had a large crack in the wall that was just covered with a sealant. The beds were rock hard and uncomfortable.

Staff at front very friendly. Housekeeping not too friendly, hair dryer had black smudges on it & toilet wasn’t clean. Also blanket had rips on it & had holes on it. Will not be staying here again.

Our room needs an update. Carpet is worn, tile broken in bathroom, toilet runs on and off, patches in tub. Nice hotel, good location, great staff.

Initial impression is that its pretty outdated and worn for the $213/nt price. Front office staff person was nice and professional. They gave us the room next to the exercise facility that is noisy. This was inconsiderate given the hotel is not fully booked. Doors in room appear to have been broken into and then puttied up for repair and spot painted. Gobs of heavily caulked areas in bathroom to cover shady carpentry. Toilet leaks and flushes poorly and is easily blocked. We asked for plumbing service and front office merely came into our room and left an old dirty plunger for us to take care of ourselves and then left without notifying us that we needed to fix on our own. Beds are hard and appear very old. A/C unit is old and very loud and extremely noisy rattle when fan on.

So very nice at the front desk. Great parking. Staff at desk was super nice. Good parking and good location. Hotel is very rundown in rooms. We had two days of ants and mattresses are super soft. Bathroom is old and walls are thin.

I was placed by the elevator and feel that when ever I buy my stay from another source other than direct from Hampton inn at San Marcos, I get crappy rooms. I received a handicapped room and the shower looked awful. The overall room looks like it needs some sprucing up. I checked in early around 2:45 p.m. so it was not that they had no rooms. It was not busy as the parking was not full. They need to do better as I stay there due to business/family events.

Check-in was easy, and staff was friendly. However, room had unpleasant smell, structure (room and bathroom) appeared worn out and could use some update. Walls were thin and provided little to no insulation to noises. Beds made squeaky noise for every body turn. Had a hard time sleeping with all the noises.

This was the dirtiest and unhealthy hotel room I have ever seen. The walls were stained, the pillows were yellow, there was hair in both of the beds, grout was missing from the bathroom floor. How can this place have a rating of fabulous, and charge over $300 for a one night stay.

Everything went very well. I used the fitness center and the only thing to improve there, is that there is nothing to clean the machines after use; which means that no one is able to clean the machines and therefore are not very healthy.

The hotel is in need of a update, wall paper is peeling, popcorn ceiling is spotted, tub slow to drain, something black on the wall near the 2nd floor elevator buttons. Rooms seemed clean and breakfast area was clean. We have been staying here since 2011 when our son went to Cal State, and I don't think anything has been updated since then.

Pros: Great, hot breakfast including omelettes, sausage/bacon, waffle maker, juice and coffee bars. Nice pool and hot tub for kids. Front desk staff friendly and accommodating. Price was good and reasonable per night.
Cons: old decor including aged bathroom, toilet, doors, stained chair and pretty matted (sticky?) carpet which probably was pretty dirty—same with the hallways. This hotel needs major renovation. Unfortunately I have noticed these things with Hilton owned hotels.

I have stayed there several times and it has been fine but the room this time was old and outdated, the bathroom didn’t have a counter, just the little sink and a small metal shelf. It felt like the sink in a public bathroom. The grout was coming out and would stick to your feet. It desperately needs an update
