Great stay and friendly staff! The beds weren't as comfortable as I expected and I never received my complimentary bottle of wine, but loved everything else.

Like the area. Breakfast is good but you will need to add more variety. Limited menu.
My only issue was the pillows smelled very bad. Please have them cleaned. It is not healthy.

Valet was rude. Front desk was great.
The hallways look better than the room themselves, Which portrayed a Not so glamorous - old Hollywood feel. The bedsheets smelled like mildew. Out of the handful of Sofitel’s I've stayed around the world the DC location is by far the worst.

Sofitel was an excellent choice for my three nights in DC. A high quality hotel in a fine location. I especially appreciated the on site food options.

The room was well appointed: sheets and towels first rate. The area appeals. Service could have been a bit better. Having arrived prior to check in, I separately checked my bag. When I was later checked in while elsewhere, my bag was not taken to the room, forcing me to retrieve my bag late in the evening. This was not optimal.

Great location and great staff. Parking a challenge but valet staff was amazing - did a terrific job as we required access to our car multiple times during our stay and they were very efficient. Check in staff very welcoming and helpful. Room as very nice, comfy bed and amenities. Liked the eco friendly touches while still being luxe. Planning to stay here again on our next trip to DC!

We asked for a Sunny room and we were upgraded and the staff was so happy and kind to do that! The hotel staff were all so friendly and helpful. That goes so far now in this world!

Everything was generally great, but first impressions go a long way. As my wife checked in, i went to the bathroom and was utterly disgusted by what i saw. Toilets clogged, paper towels everywhere, garbage cans overflowing, water all over the floor, really gross. Tainted the entire stay.

The front desk staff and valet parking were all very professional and kind! My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay here, and everything at the hotel room was very clean. Perfect location as well because we were able to walk to the best restaurants in DC. Highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel has everything. I came for my birthday. Everyone was nice and helpful from the time I arrived at the property until I left five days later. The room was amazing. The ambiance of the hotel was great. The location is impeccable. I will stay at this hotel from now on.

Frankly we were not in the hotel for very long; arrived around 7:30 pm and were gone by 7:30 next morning. We did have a drink at the bar when we arrived. From what I saw it is a lovely hotel, and the people we dealt with were very pleasant and professional. Our room and bathroom were also very nice; no complaints. My only issue is that we did not have a top sheet. We had a straight sheet as bottom sheet, and then duvet or quilt. Weird. If I wasn’t so tired I probably would have called the desk, but my husband just got into bed so I did too. It was just odd; I’m not sure whether it was intentional. If I am ever there again, I will make sure to have a top sheet! lol.

I've stayed at Sofitels in other cities so assumed the quality would be consistent. I will say the room size and location was great-- but this location had a few areas lacking which made it a subpar stay for us: water pressure / temp of the shower was off (could only get good pressure with cold water- the other option was hot and a trickle 👎), no fan in the bathroom, phone and in room Keurig didn't work and the bar in the lobby (which was beautiful!) closed so early (the staff referred us to Joe's across the street which also closed (this was ~10pm on a Saturday). A bit of a bummer for a weekend getaway in a decently sized city.
Positives were the doorman, the scent of the body wash and the convenient location.

I like to pre pay my trips and Sofitel does not allow this. Unexpected fees upon check in added stress. Very clean. Opaline restaurant although I’m sure cooked to perfection doesn’t have a single thing that I would eat.

The property was dirty and it was not clean. Found spills on the desk and dried out on the desk and the carpet looked so dirty. Furniture had no upkeep. And the staff was horrible. Not friendly and almost rude. I have stayed here before and I would not return. Take your monkey somewhere else.

Lindsay from desk ~ unbelievable service. Lindsay remembered our room Number 2 nights after we checked with only having one interaction with her the day we actually did check in !! Unbelievable!!

Beautiful lobby design and holiday displays, attentive staff at the front desk, courteous and informative. However, the front doors only open randomly and require a staff person to open the door upon arrival for easier access.
Disappointing breakfast hours need earlier opening service with long waiting times to be seated. It appears that there is insufficient staff within the dining area, with slow kitchen service as well.
Across the way at Opaline on New Year's Eve, there was not one person to greet guests upon arrival and no servers behind the bar. I was disappointed that I could order a beverage around 11:30 PM to celebrate the arrival of 2024.
Overall, a very good experience but importantly, guests will always rave about the food quality, the dining room decor and menu selections.
