I’ll give them one star for the aesthetic…other than that it’s garbage. You have to check in at a completely different hotel then you have to find the loft which does not have a sign. The attendant at check in was amazing, but past him everything else was awful. There is no parking for the hotel so I had to pay an additional $40 for parking. The entire first floor of this hotel is abandoned… amenities mentions a bar, but don’t expect that because it is completely empty and cleared out. There was not a SOUL on the first floor. Just an empty bar and an air mattress. Then you get to your room where the floors are nasty and sticky. The giant studio light that was in the room had a busted bulb so that couldn’t even be used. It was extremely humid so I woke up dripping sweat multiple times. Along with hearing every footstep the person in the other room is taking. The showers are AWFUL. Not even enough water pressure to knock the dust off of you. No shower door so every shower you flood the whole bathroom and shiver the entire time. bath tub was great other than the fact the water came out looking like milk. No drink machines no vending machines. There’s a mini fridge but it comes empty. Stay ANYWHERE else other than here.

Nowhere on the website does it share that the property is run by International House around the corner. There is no staff inside the Loft - all check-in and valet parking occurs at IH, and amenities listed (gym, spa, bar) are at IH, not the Loft. If you try to unload your car in front of the Loft, you are blocking traffic on a 1-lane, 1-way street. Absolutely ridiculous experience.

Unstaffed, front lobby looked abandoned and no amenities. Luke warm water for showers and only decaf coffee.

First there was no hot water and second room had no water pressure. So it was like taking a shower in a water fountain. If the loft actually had staff and the bar that was shown and seating area. It would be a decent place. But nothing is there and have to check in at their sister hotel half block away. Expedia should remove them from there sight.

The room was super cool with a minimalistic vibe to it. Had to go to the sister hotel (IH) to check in and out. Honestly don’t think anyone was in the building at all besides us. There’s no bar or other amenities. Overall, super unique place.

Great location

There wasn’t a physical presence of security or hotel staff inside the lobby at anytime during my stay.

Check in was delayed but staff was gracious and helpful

Had to go to the sister property to check in and park then walk to the lofts. Had we been told this when booking I would have chose another place to stay.

Quiet, comfortable, and stylish place to stay.

After booking I’d read reviews that were not complimentary and caused me angst! None of those negative reports were my experience. I’m so glad I booked and stayed here. My experience was excellent and the rooms were very spacious and “loft” like. This was a birthday present for my daughter and she was thrilled with an upgrade to a penthouse room!

I love the loft experience of staying at loft 523 I've stayed here for years however they do need to do some updates. The room I stayed in the toilet is loose and needs to be bolted to the floor and shakes every time you use the toilet I weigh 150 lb. I also saw a roach in the room

I loved the bed!

Weird, this whole experience was just weird. So you check in at a sister hotel. IH. Reception was absolutely awesome. Gave us a room key and directed us about a half a block to the hotel we would staying at. Tucked away on a non busy street is a hammered copper door. Open the door to what seems to be an abandoned art gallery. No reception, quiet and kind of eerie. Elevator was laced in copper panels and wood floors. We stayed on the PH level, but not your typical PH at all. Room had unfinished concrete floors. Huge area rug tucked under the bed and platform style furniture. Bed was very comfy. The bathroom was huge as well with an awkward shaped tub and a unique shower. The heads were adjacent from each other but odd. Hard to stay under water. Lightening in the room was low due to the windows facing concrete walls. No view in PH2. Very loft style. Mini fridge was tucked into a shelving unit.. almost missed it..Never got coffee maker to work. But coffee shops close by. So didn’t bother me. Location was nice, located within walking distance of stores. Valet parking offered by the hotel.. but noticed a parking lot literally 20 feet away from entrance.. wish I would have be aware, prior to paying valet fees..and trucking our luggage half a block. Parking lot was about half the price. Honestly thought we were the only people in the bldg until day we were checking out, saw another human in the elevator. If you want an quiet and eclectic stay in NOLA, this place may be for you.

Misleading photos! Wires coming out the roof where light used to be, fixtures falling off the wall, hole in the floor of shower, no service on tv and remote didn’t even work. Smell was of old mop water. Don’t stay here! It was room 4B.

The place was not clean and look/felt abandoned

The Tv in the unit would not come on. It was hot and uncomfortable. The A/C seemed to be having trouble, it did not turn on til 4am. There was also a smell in the unit as if it wasn’t cleaned prior to arrival. I am not pleased with the overall stay. The unit looked nothing like the pictures displayed online.

Disappointed that there were no amenities at the hotel itself.

Wonderful staff/room. At the time, there was no reception. That was the only issue.

I loved everything about this property. Nothing to complain about . Pictures are just like the room , we stayed in the Artist loft . Even though you had to check in and get ice from the sister property the service was amazing!

Infestation with cockroaches couldn’t stay had to go to international hotel. Hotel seems abandoned

I’m not sure what’s going on with this property. When we stayed it felt like it was under renovation and not fully ready for guests. For example, the property didn’t have its own check in representative. We had to go to a different property down the block to check in. Not a big deal but when we did that and got into the actual building there was no one around. The lobby at the loft looked like a hotel had been abandoned. Paintings were on the ground and not hung on the wall. The lighting was dim and the floors in our room were bare concrete. The whole vibe was very “pardon our dust.” It wasn’t a bad stay per se but my girlfriend and I both felt like it needed work. One last thing… the shower was a big let down. Looked great in the photos but the shower heads weren’t adjustable and both sprayed water straight at eye level and never got warm enough. I wished I had saved a few bucks and stayed at the La Quinta down the block.

The floors were not too clean. WiFi nor the phone worked. You can hear the people in other rooms even if they are not next door.

The hotel has great potential however, we it is nothing as advertised. There is no property staff.. the hotel is basically abandoned. We had to check in to another property.. there’s not even a sign with the name on it. We were told that it “used to be popping” but since covid they’ve been unable to staff it consistently. Reads that there’s a bar, spa, and restaurant on the property.. all of which do not exist. There’s no hot water.. and basically it was a scary experience as we seemed to be the only people in the building. Precious place but definitely not worth the money without the amenities. A falsely advertised experience all the way around.

I LOVED staying here. The Penthouse was worth the extra money. Private terrace. designer tub. dual showerheads. HUGE space. lots of closet space. mini fridge. 5th floor. Quiet. View was great. definitely plan on staying here again. check in was smooth. Honestly, I could live here. It was one of the more amazing rooms I've found in New Orleans.

Associated with International House so it has the same vibe - which I love. But it could use some maintenance. But still a good place to stay. Would recommend

Property not as advertised. There's no bar or restaurant. No staff working either. No signs out front, took half an hour of driving in circles to find out you have to go elsewhere to check in. Broken shower, no blankets, no amenities, housekeeping shows up sometimes at 8am, sometimes not at all, doesn't replace anything like the soap or one bag of coffee.

The property was NOTHING like what was posted. The thermostat wouldn’t go below 68 and the temperature in the room remained at 76 or above. The fridge was hidden and stopped working which spoiled the food I purchased. There was literally no staff at the property at any time of the day.I definitely WOULD NOT stay here nor recommend it to anyone. If it wasn’t so last minute and my funds weren’t as limited I would’ve definitely found another location. Birthday trip ruined.

This is a rare hotel where the room is actually BETTER than the pictures. Very cool, comfortable vibe. There is no staff on site, however, so if you need something you have to go to the sister property about a block away. Not a big deal, just be aware. For example, the cleaning staff didn't ever replace the coffee in the room, so we just did without.

Staff was unhelpful and seemed to be generally confused about operating procedures between their two sister locations. Left property in room to which they said was not found.

Overall a nice stay. We were allowed to check in early after our cruise and our room was upgraded for no additional charge. They only issue was we had to check in at the sister hotel and pull our luggage a block over - likewise at checkout to retrieve our vehicle. If we were able to do this at the hotel booked our stay would have been perfect. We understand there were phone/internet issues the day of check in so this is not a typical experience.
We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reasonably priced stay in a good location. We were within walking distance to anything we wanted to do in the French Quarter.

If you need a great, safe and convenient stay close to Canal and Bourbon and all the parades this is it! If you want heavy activity in your lobby with concierge and amenities in the hotel, they have relationship with International House. This was quiet, clean with an amazing room!

I liked the hotel, except for the shower. The water pressure was non-existent. It was possibly the worst shower I've ever used.

Mice were present and woke us in the night. In the morning, we were switched to a lesser room than we had booked (no view, queen sized bed instead of king sized) but there was no adjustment to our bill. Also smaller inconvenience like no coffee cups one day and no replacement of in-room coffee on another. Inconvenient outlets for charging.

The hotel has mice and rats, there was mold, there was no staff and my room key was given to another guest and the hotel did not inform me.

This should not even be listed as a hotel at this point. No registration staff, no amenities, ceilings, weird smells. Had to use my cell phone to reach a hotel employee. Terrible experience.

For the value, the stay was excellent. It was clean, quiet and my husband and I felt very safe. The main desk is around the corner and I received a text before check with the information. It’s like being in a private studio loft. The description was spot on. My only advice is maybe throw a little more light in the bathroom but that’s it. The property looks like they’re upgrading the front end with a lobby and lounge. Everything was super clean.
