Stayed for Sam Fender gig with my daughter and we loved this place. The hotel, breakfast, rooms, restaurant, bar area were spot on. The location was beautiful. Couldn’t fault it at all

Pros - It’s so close to a beautiful beach and piers and a beautiful parks are within walking distance Cons - the food was not good, tasteless, overcooked and very limited options for breakfast. The dishes were stained, cutlery not clean - we didn’t want to eat there after the first meal

Enjoyed the hotel. Great position. Food excellent. Dining area too warm due to greenhouse type roof on sunny day. Staff friendly. Room needs some tlc. Good value though.

We have stayed at The Little Haven Hotel on numerous occasions, not once have we been disappointed. From Reception to the Staff around the hotel all personnel are really friendly and polite, they can’t do enough for you. Well done, we shall be staying again soon. Thankyou to everyone during our stay.

The location is the USP of this hotel but it is very dated and lacks attention to detail particularly in the staffing area. The Manager is not present nor obvious to customers. Staff need to trained not to spend time hanging over reception chatting when customers need attention, and when they do that they should not be greeted with a response that makes them feel like an interference to the conversation. They also need to be made clear that shouting at each other in and outside the restaurant is totally unacceptable. Some Individual staff are very good but a well managed customer Service team are constantly attentive rather than making Customers feel processed. Whilst the hotel is clean it’s very dated and some of the Ocean Road BnB’s surprisingly have a higher quality of accommodation and staff as well as amenities. Overall It’s just lack lustre.

We have been staying at The Little Haven for over 20 years and love our trips down south. This year however the food was quite disappointing' We stayed Friday and Saturday and the menu - 'Steak Night'- was the same both nights. Soggy chips and poor steaks. Shame.

Always enjoy our visits. Friendly hotel with very friendly staff. Lovely big room.

Property was excellent we had the Collingwood suite views were superb from the two balconies, the suite itself was huge and very clean ,staff all friendly ,restaurant was busy but sevice very quick food was great .A big thanks to all the staff

All the staff from reception bar and cleaners were amazing made to feel so welcome The decor is so dated the conservatorty roof was grim but what a stunning location :)

The hotel itself is 3 stars. Which sort of makes sense but not entirely. Some of the rooms have beautiful views but definitely 3 stars for decor, bedding etc. However, the staff most definitely provide a 5 star service! And the penthouse suites - utterly amazing! The North East’s best hidden secret. Beautiful rooms and the views are stunning. You can hear the sea when you step out on the balcony. The boats on the busy Tyne pass by and feel close enough to touch. What an experience! Highly recommended but don’t tell everyone!!!! Let’s keep this a hidden gem.

We stayed on a Wednesday night. Had the restaurant food, a few drinks, and thoroughly enjoyed the old folks Karaoke night in the Lounge - just brilliant seeing these folks enjoy themselves singing the old songs..! The Hotel is in a marvellous spot right next to the obviously redeveloped South Shields promenade. Thoroughly recommended!!

Lovely as always. Great views. Mostly great service. Wasnt happy to be accused of not paying my bill but this misunderstanding was soon cleared up. Nevertheless, humiliating.

Fabulous location and lovely staff made for a very pleasant stay, delicious food and all for very reasonable prices.

The e hotel was very busy and limited seating available for breakfast - we had to eat in the cafe area. The bedroom allocated was for disabled - all good and a nice view of the 2 piers. The low score for eco friendly was the window did not close properly and the heater was directly underneath - wasting a lot of heat due to the down draft from the window. - there was a smell in the bathroom not sure if it was because the water in the sink was slow to drain - we reported this and the receptionist was fine with the request to get it checked. Great location.

The Hotel was very nice - The room was comfy. My only criticism was the Bathroom fan which was very noisy - especially if you went to the loo in the middle of the night. The breakfast was very nice and Yes I would stay there again - I'd bring a torch to use the toilet during the night
