The hotel was our final stop after completing the 3 peaks challenge. A bunch of broken bodies turned up & headed for the hot tub & the facilities at the pool certainly didn’t disappoint.
The reception staff were excellent juggling a large group and completing dinner orders at the same time. I asked for 2 of my 7 rooms to be changed from doubles to twins and nothing was too much trouble.
Food was excellent, the bar & restaurant staff attentive and polite and breakfast the following morning very high standard.
Cleanliness was exceptional, your hotel certainly ticked all the boxes.

Excellent hotel with great facilities and restaurant. Staff were excellent throughout the complex. Great location just off the A5. Would stay again. Plenty of parking, large restaurant with good evening and breakfast options.

Very old and broken down furniture. The room walls so thin i could hear the guy next room pass gas and eat chips.. the rest was okay. Bed small, and our view was the garbage in the back (we opt for a cheaper option so i guess got what we paid for) the room walls so thin was hard to sleep as woken up by next door using toilet etc.

This hotel is great. Quiet, safe and convenient. The staff are professional, helpful and friendly. The room was beautiful overlooking the canal. Well equipped and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic along with the added luxury of room service. Excellent stay and good value as well. Highly recommended

We booked for 2 night and half a spa day on day of arrival. To me the spa is missing something cold. There were great thermal saunas and steam rooms and jacuzzi but everything was hot. Room its self was nice but bathroom was tiny. I originally booked executive double with canal views then upgraded to feature room but didnt seem a lot of difference for rhe extra charge. I was then upgraded to the suite which was amazing. Food in the pub is not very exciting for the price.
Back to the suite. Huge room all mod cons, mood lighting, electic curtainsm huge bathroom, Alexa, smart TV. 4 poster bed. We definitely enjoyed the suite. My partner used the pool on last day which he said was good.

Check in was Ok but failed to take my card for pre authorisation for drinks and food.
Put me in a disabled room and bed was really hard andcwoke up 7 or 8 times with no feeling in my arm.
Dudnt find tge staff in the restaurant that friendly.
Put a boiling hot plate of food on the table and didn't tell me the plate was boiling hot. Bloody stupid that was.
Cleaner was knocking my door to clean my room at 9.30am
WELL the 2 Thai fish cakes i had for starters in the restaurant were shocking. Tasted nothing like a Thai fish and should have been atleadt 5 given what they charge.
I'll not be back

Great hotel and spa facilities on site

Staff were super polite, friendly and helpful! The room wasn’t the best however, TV worked but the only thing that worked on it was the radio… you could hear every door slam, conversation and foot steps around you and the complimentary water in the room was sparkling water. The pool was nice but it was cold, the spa was amazing but we found out we wasn’t actually allowed to be in there which was a massive disappointment… overall the hotel is okay but I don’t think we’ll be coming back. Wasn’t worth the money.

Although it's in a beautiful area of the UK, I was pretty disappointed with the hotel, the pumps for shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom didn't work, and there was no conditioner or body lotion (yes first world problems but it purports to be a luxurious hotel). The food in the restaurant was good, although the presentation and service left a lot to be desired, the WiFi was albeit non existent in the bar area for our meeting , which we had to postpone to the next day (3 hours in a Costa coffee shop 10 mins away purely for a reliable connection). However, the absolute outstanding feature were the gym and spa facilities....amazing!

Lack of staff on bar and restaurant waiting ages for service especially near Christmas. Rooms very thin walls and noisy.

Party going on in the room upstairs until 3am. My ribeye steak was more like a cheap flat iron, nowhere near the £32 i paid for it and then i had no electric in the morning. Not the first time i stayed but not sure if I'll be going back.

Filthy lobby, tiny bathroom, grubby balcony, cold shower, spa facilities, hot tub only working in one corner. Very disappointing. Won’t be staying or recommending to anyone.

Generally good experience just a couple of issues. Lack of bar staff in the main bar when functions are on in other rooms. Being cashless meant my relatives had problems as the hotel is cashless. They wont stay again.

Room was really nice. Food wasn’t though and no one was interested that it was inedible.

The staff are generally excellent. The hotel is tired and desperately needs updating. One night, there was no hot water. Wifi is bad. Breakfast generally OK.

Great welcome and attentiveness when booking in/had questions.
Room comfortable.
Was a shame you had to walk across to another building for bar/restaurant but staff were friendly and helpful.

Lovely hotel and leisure facilities. Very good breakfast.
Lack of decent WiFI is an issue. It would be good to offer a chargeable version to ensure good coverage.

A really tired room and I’d payed for an upgrade, won’t stop again.

Lovely grounds and reception areas. Rooms are modern amd comfortable. We overlooked the canal and were entertained by the barges. Food was delicious as was breakfast. Leisure facilities were a welcome nomis after a longday driving. Pool steamroom and sauna as well as the areas were faultless. Only thing letting it down was the jacuzzi. The enamel had started to flake off. Although all the use is complimetary and a welcome attraction
Definitely booking up again when we are down this way

Internet was quite poor and even in conference rooms we payed for it was quite bad and frustrating it didn’t always work

Disappointing stay to be honest. We checked out a day early. The grounds, leisure buidling and restaurants were nice although overpriced. The room was not the one we paid for so had to be moved. The room we then stayed in had a bad smell from the drains / air extraction system. We booked this as a spa break but due to the false advertising they only let you use the leisure facilities not the entire spa. If i wanted to go for a swim i would just use my local pool.
The hotel area has a bit of a dated feel inside, the pictures give the hotel a luxury feel but once you start to look around you realise its not quite up to it.
I don't expect anything to be done about the misadvertising of rooms and spa facilities as this is the nature of these companies. As i understand their aim is to try and get as much money out of people as possible. I just hope this serves as a warning to others. Pay the extra and go somewhere else.
Staff were helpful but can only do so much. I'd love my money back for the day i didn't stay but £150 to be out of this place was totally justified.

The room service was very poor, but the evening meal was pleasant.
The whole place needs a revamp.
We were not told at booking the the sauna was out of use.
Pretty disappointing stay to be honest. The photos make it look A LOT nicer than it is.

lovely Hotel, very clean tidy and fantastic breakfast

We found the location to be excellent and the only issue is that some areas are looking a little tired and could do with some T L C by the maintenance team to make the outside areas more appealing

Fabulous stay, beautiful room and our evening meal in the Waterside restaurant was delicious and great value
Breakfast was great and plenty of choice
Pool was a great relaxation

It was a shame that my room didn't have a curtain on the second window, the slatted blind let in a lot of light - unfortunate in mid summer! There was an issue with the water pressure, this was being worked on that morning but resulted in little/no water.

An uncomfortable stay. The showers weren’t working in the room or at the spa facilities. We were told it was the cause of a burst pipe and I feel a hotel should close if people have no washing facilities. The rooms are dated and cheap. We were kept up until early hours hearing the next door occupants having sex. The spa areas smelt like urine in multiple places, the showers also smelt like strong urine. There was an area by the pool where the smell was incredibly intense. I will not be returning or recommend.

Spa is restful and calm. Treatments do need to be booked well in advance, so only managed one, a very relaxing massage.
Restaurant was busy but efficient with minimal waiting. Cornelia and Molly were amazing waitresses and worked extremely hard to make our experience as perfect as possible. The food was delicious and well -presented.
The staff generally were very helpful and their customer service skills were impeccable! It was a lovely, relaxing stay and we hope to return soon. Thank you.

We used Lion Quays for a 2-day business event. The staff were enormously helpful, the accommodation was very good, the spa/pool first class, the bar and restaurant excellent and the meeting rooms great.
Overall ~ highly recommend

Where is the luxury? For a hotel that brands itself as luxury our experience couldn't have been further from that.. For starters the cleanliness of the room was shocking, most notably the floor covered in dirt, dust and hairs when we arrived. Then there was the bed, the worst nights sleep we have ever had!! The bed had a huge dip in middle which meant we were constantly fighting to not roll into it and the pillows were basically non-existent. I'm still dealing with the back pain now!
On a positive note the hotel itself looks lovely (from the outside) and the setting is really picturesque, it's just a shame we were so tired the next morning we didn't get to enjoy it..
