The location is great, the staff was nice enough. A big problem was the bedsheets would continue to slide revealing a rather horrific mattress. The air con really didn't keep the room warm considering the windows have 0 insulation. However we were given an electric heater which helped loads.

Close to center and exactly next to metro station. Simple, a little worn but excellent value for a price.

Very friendly personnel, room had all I needed and in good condition, bathroom super clean, nice terrace for breakfast.

They would turn off AC when ever they wanted. Hair dryer was not working in the bathroom. They would not clean room until we ask them.

There is an improvement from our previous stay. The room is clean but the bathroom area is too small, very difficult to bend and scrub your leg without your head hitting the wall and your back pulling up the shower curtain. They responsed quick to needs. I will rate them 4/5

Looks beautiful from the outside but horrible from the inside. Had to change our room twice due to faulty air condition and finally had to move to a different hotel. Staff were rude and rooms smelling cigarettes.

Breakfast poor, waitresses unfriendly, receptionists helpful. Noisy corridors, you could hear a normal conversation in the adjacent room. Location was great!

The receptionist on the day of arrival was very rude and it didnt get any better!!! The room stunk, the water leaked from the bathroom sink to the floor and there was a major pluming problem, in that they moved us to another room, it smelled a bit better, but eventually we started having the same problem with the stench coming from the vent in the bathroom floor! Hot water was also a problem, as we had to shower with cold water a few times! This is not a hotel I would go back to, even for one night!!! They have no sense of customer service as we tried to ask them for help on a day trip from Sofia, and they were not any help at all!!!!

Dirty old rooms, very dusty, dark, bed is tilted on one side, only one electrical outlet is working. Shower difficult to control the temperature. Changes every 30 seconds from very hot to very cold. But on the positive side the staff are very friendly.

I stayed at Hemus hotel twice for the nights only. The hotel is in a good location with wonderful views to downtown Sofia from the one side and to the Vitosha mountain to the other side. The quality is adequate for the price.

If you are looking for post communism experience, you have found it! The hotel has not been updated since the 90ies and probably it won't be soon! Initially we were in a double room (don't expect queen or king size beds at all). The room was so tiny, there was hardly any space for our luggages. Basic stuff like hairdryer was nowhere to be found and given to me only after asking the receptionist. After one very disappointing and claustrophobic night, we moved into an apartment which was way better and the price offered as a foreigner was one and then lowered when they found out we were originally from the country. Do not expect anything fancy! The TV was an old tube TV that thankfully was working. But come on! This is the center of the capital of Bulgaria and you have waivy floors from who knows what and TV from the 80ies? Simply horrible! Therefore I would not recommend this hotel to anybody including my enemy! The management needs to do a lot of work to bring this hotel to the expected standards and the 3 star they supposed to offer. Better spend your money somewhere else!

We booked the suite with breakfast included. The room is acceptable, but not what I was expecting.

fine, not expensive for what you get, breakfast was alright, i booked the suite so it was nice, but I'm not sure about the regular rooms
