I have stayed at the Hotel Settles several times before and always enjoy it. This time I was disappointed that the pool was closed-unexpectedly and that I was not able to order food in the bar on a Sunday night. I had called ahead to confirm that food would be available in the bar until 9:00 as the restaurant is closed on Sunday night. The kitchen closed early and we had to find dinner across the street. In the end we were compensated for our inconvenience and staff were apologetic, understanding and generous. Maybe let guests know when the pool will be closed in the summer and make sure that the front desk staff know what the kitchen is doing. It is a beautiful hotel and usually a great stop while traveling. I will stay there again.

The Hotel and Room were and are always amazing.. Beds are so comfy and rooms very clean..
Cant say much for the pool and hot tub..Never saw any workers test the chemicals, clean the pool or pool area and it showed.. We have always enjoyed the pool on past stays.. Not this time.. They were both very cloudy and had residue floating around especially the hot tub pool.. Nasty.. The pool had sand all in the bottom and the water was dirty.. Area by the hot tub had chicken leg bones laying all over the floor area all 3 days we checked with ants all over them.. pieces of chicken all around the area..Could not enjoy the pool area this stay

What a gem! A quirky, cool, old-school hotel and not part of a corporate chain. We had three rooms in our group and each one was well appointed. Truly luxurious, beautiful with an elegant style reminiscent of a time that existed a century ago. We would go out of our way to stay there again.

What a gem of a place. We were just driving to Austin and needed a one night stay. This place was incredible. A historic hotel. Everything has been redone and it is a beautiful. The room was really big. We’re trying to figure out what could possibly be around the area to visit and come back for a few days.

What a beautiful property! I only wish we’d had more time to stay and enjoy more. The pool area looked beautiful and the lobby was stunning. The room was huge and very comfortable! I would definitely stay here again!

The surrounding area is desolate. Went for a 45 minute walk around the hotel area and never saw another person strolling around. Most buildings are abandoned and boarded up. Seems like the courthouse is the only functioning business. I may be wrong but that was my impression.

The Settles is one of the most beautiful hotels I've stayed in. It's jetted tubs, beds and room service are amazing! And, the staff is always helpful and welcoming.

The hotel is great. I was just disappointed that allowed two very drunk and hostile characters into the bar who then harassed me and other customers.

What a wonderful change from the normal chain hotels! The room, which was actually rooms, felt like a glamorous elegant suite. Spacious, impeccable. We went out of our way to stay here and it was definitely worth it.

I had an amazing night in a beautiful room! During a freeze of my water pipes I just needed a shower and got so much more! Room service food was amazing and the staff was so awesome. And they actually had a real handicap shower. which is very hard to find and traveling. I will definitely refer all my friends that come to visit and I’m not gonna say anything about I’ll be back because I don’t want my pipes to freeze again it has not been fun. Except for my stay there!

If you are driving between Dallas and El Paso, definitely stay at the Settles. Beautifully restore high end hotel. Staff is very helpful, friendly, courteous. Restaurant is excellent. Rooms are huge and superbly outfitted. And the price is a little more than Holiday Inn Express.

What a gem! I’m from San Diego and have stayed in beautiful hotels all over the southwest. This hotel was gorgeous! Our room was so nice! I can’t believe how inexpensive it was.

Beautiful, scenic hotel. The surrounding area at night isn’t that great, just feels deserted. Our room was gorgeous but tried to take a bath and the stopper wouldn’t work and then the toilet wouldn’t flush. Called down to the front desk and Brittany immediately got us into another room.
I had planned to take my husband out to a restaurant for his birthday but it was closed for some reason so we ate at the hotel restaurant and we had such a great meal and the staff was so kind. Really, really enjoyed our time here and will make the trip back!

This is a wonderfully restored 1930 hotel. They kept the room footprints the same and the fixtures and furniture. But it is very comfortable and clean. It’s affordable luxury!
