I booked a handicapped accessible room. I get to the hotel and the lady sees me in a wheelchair and said I'm sorry we don't have the room you booked online. So we had to pay double for our stay and had to get a regular room for us and had to get another room on top of that because we all couldn't fit in the room I was put in if we added a cot due to me being in a wheelchair. I went to use the pool lift to get in the pool and the lift didn't work. I asked the front desk if it works and one person said yes I just have to put the battery on. She put the battery on and it didn't work. Then the other front desk person said that they ordered I fuse and it's on back order. Another front desk person said it's been not working for a long time. Can we hold hotels liable if they list their hotel and amenities as wheelchair accessible and handicap accessible if their items are not working and they have no such room available so you don't have to deal with what I had to go through. It was one of the worst experiences. The beds you can feel the springs when you sit and lay down. Not very comfortable at all. The breakfast was cold, the muffins were hard you couldn't bite into them. The closing manager idk if he was scared or what but he had the doors locked before 9pm for guests to walk in. He was really rude and would come in the pool room and slam the door shut.

Our stay at Holiday Inn Express in Fort Dodge was great. It was very clean, beds were comfortable, the pool stayed open until 11 and the rooms had everything you needed. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I always stay in this hotel when I come to my hometown because they have good quality handicap bathrooms. As usual, it was quiet, even though a teen boys baseball team spent Saturday night there. The down side is that the building is aging and in need of a DEEP cleaning and some upgrades. I do not believe that it is necessary to charge every guest with a pet the same $50 pet fee. I have a very well trained chihuahua mix, small dog that I take with me everytime I leave the premises. I still had to pay the $50 even though she never barked once or caused any damage whatsoever. When one is a repeat guest with the same pet, I think some allowance should be made. In addition, I take my own poop bags and clean up after my pet every time. That should be taken into account.

Like: like the quick response when we couldn't get the TV to work. Someone was at our door within minutes. She was a very friendly lady. Saw her again before we left and she took the time to ask how did the TV work after she left and struck up conversation about our trip. Not many do that anymore. Dislikes: hot tub was not hot. Wallpaper in bathroom was pulling off.

Very nice, clean, quiet. Bed good for me, to firm for my wife. Good breakfast, cinnamon rolls were great! Pool was open only 1 night of the 4 we were there. Hot tube was open and great.

We were so disappointed at the limited hours of the concierge lounge. We ensured we had access as part of our reservation, but it closed before we arrived and didn't open until after we had to check out for our flight. We had to pay $5 each for a half cup of coffee in the lobby on our way out :(

We really liked the convenience of where it was located close to grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, etc. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful and made our stay enjoyable.

Staff was friendly. Linens left on the pull out couch from last guest.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The manager, Sarah, wad absolutely delightful!! She made us feel so welcome and appreciated. I have always enjoyed my stays at this hotel, but Sarah ensured that this stay is memorable. She’s a treasure so I hope the corporate management realizes her worth. ❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕❤️

It was the best stay i have had at a hotel. We were there for my daughters cheer competition. The lady that checked us in was just amazing and super nice and the best. She does her job to the fullest. She helped us in any way possible. We brought in a ton of pizza and wings for the team. As we stood there trying to figure out where to put it all she immediately jumped right in to help and allowes us to use the meeting room so all the cheer team had a place to eat. My daughter had a girl issue while we were there and me as a busy mom didnt think of that or come prepared. She gave my daughter what she needed and some chocolate. She was simply amazing. I hope someone lets her know and she should get some kind of an award because she deserves it for sure. Would definitely stay again anytime i am in town there.

Very convenient for shopping and places to eat. Only negative not their fault is all the construction in the area.

Enjoyed the complimentary oranges bananas and cookies available at all times, front desk worker was great at helping and getting me extra garbage bags and blankets! The things I didn’t like would be the office chair in our room was very worn and peeling there was holes in the box spring cover, and the pancake machine wasn’t working correctly and the breakfast worker was rude about it.

I have never stayed at a Holiday Inn Hotel. I am a Marriott and Hilton member, and Fort Dodge being a small Midwest town, only offered a few options for lodging. I was amazed at the cleanliness, food options for breakfast, along with the fresh fruit available for snacks in the lobby. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. I will use this hotel again in Fort Dodge when traveling.

Compared to other Holiday Inn Express hotels that I’ve stayed at, the room I was in here felt very dated. The bathroom included. I wasn’t impressed with the dated feeling and price for our stay. Breakfast area was clean, and staff was friendly. Temperature in the room was good.
