We enjoyed our stay at the Hollyhock House. The house is exactly what you see in the photos. The beds are super comfortable and the space was perfect for our needs. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Hollyhock House has all the comforts of home! It is nestled next to a beautiful trail and pond, within walking distance to historic landmarks, wonderful seafood restaurants, and many quaint shops. Hollyhock’s convenient location made day trips to nearby towns very easy. Whale watching in Gloucester was amazing! We saw several humpbacks aboard the Saint Ann. The home itself is perfect for a couples trip or family vacation. Unlike many homes in the area it has a large pool and yard. We enjoyed this peaceful seaside town so much and can’t wait to return for another visit.

Planned our 3 night visit around the pool. Got there and the pool was 100% unusable. Had not been cleaned and smelled with thick algae. Called immediately and was assured that the pool would be cleaned in the morning so we stayed. Left the house for the day and came back expecting to be able to relax by the pool.... That was far from true nothing was cleaned and was still 100% unusable. We checked out the next morning and asked to have our money refunded but was told they would only give us 1 night which we didn't stay back. TOTALLY dissatisfied. Ruined our 3 days....

Waited until after the confirmation of the reservation, then cancelled the reservation on 6 travelers. first time using VRBO and it will be our last.

Our family decided to head east for spring break and tour the Hocus Pocus movie locations and historic Boston. This house was perfect for our family of 7. Great location, very safe, very clean and high quality. We were able to see and do everything we wanted within a short driving distance and have a nice place to come home to. Highly recommend.

It was so nice staying in a beautiful house, full of character and in such a beautiful town. The overall experience was great. It was easy to enter. It was a really nice, comfortable house that included all that we needed.

We loved this property!! The location was in a dead end area, next to a wooded trail and duck pond. Our kids loved walking and exploring and even discovered a tree swing. Town was a short drive with a bunch of great restaurants and shops. Probably walkable if you didn’t have kids and strollers. We had an issue with our heat and the property manager/owner sent someone over right away. Even offered us to move to a back up property if it couldn’t be fixed. Luckily it was so we didn’t have to pack everything up. Beds were comfortable and there were enough towels for all guests. We had to stock up on trash bags, laundry detergent and paper products (towels, napkins and toilet paper) as we were left with the bare minimum. So come prepared. Our only complaints would be the couch in the den was very dated and uncomfortable. And the other would be with all the pillow options in the home it was hard to find one that was comfortable. And it’s too bad they didn’t have a king size bed in the primary. Definitely had room for it. However, we will definitely be back as we have family in the area and this was by far our favorite rental find.

This house was really comfortable and very well organized. The beds were cozy, the bedrooms were equipped with suitcase caddies, hangers. There were lots of towels and lots of extra pillows and blankets. Very large coffee maker. Everything was really great. I would definitely rent this place again. I was only sorry we didn’t have more time to enjoy the backyard and the lovely walking paths nearby. My only negative, was we weren’t able to reach anyone when there was no hot water on Saturday morning. Fortunately we quickly realized that the oil heater had been turned off and turned it on and we’re back in business. It really didn’t impact us, but it would’ve been nice to have been able to reach someone with questions. Also there was plenty of parking. And I was a little worried based on the description about the size of the rooms, but they were all very comfortable.
