Perfect location, and the service was impeccable. We travel a lot, and the genuineness of this staff really stood out. They were communicative and responsive throughout, always greeting us with a smile. The quality and variety of the breakfast was a nice surprise.

Mattress was a bit hard, but that's probably a matter of personal preference.

Perfect stay! Comfortable rooms, friendly staff and tasty breakfast with lots of options. The hotel is just a few steps away from the old city center. The best place to see the Rhine Falls is the Laufen Castle side.

Excellent buffet style breakfast with lots of choice. Lovely room. Although initially the bed seemed very hard and pillow strange we both slept very well and woke up without any stiffness.

I would have liked more english breakfast tea bags in the room. Lots of herbal teas but not keen on them.

The location is excellent whether walking or travelling by train or bus. Access to all the facilities in Schaffhausen was perfect. The staff are excellent. Always had happy faces. Always courteous, and really nice to talk to, even in English. The buffet breakfast had enough range to keep most people happy. I am going to miss the sesame seed coated croissants - absolute favourite! :-) The room was clean and comfortable. Bed was comfortable as well.

Only negative - there are no laundromats in Schaffhausen. So, if you are staying for more than a couple of days and you don't want to pay the quite expensive in-house laundry rates, get used to hand washing your clothing.

The room was tiny, very tiny. Window opened on a backyard with noisy ventilation fans. Car park is 1,000 ft (300m) away. You have to break road law and prescriptions to get close to the hotel entrance in order to load/unload baggage. Very pricey for what you get. There is something wrong with the rating. How can such a Hotel get 4 star ? No pool, not even a jacuzzi, only few pieces of fitness training equipment.
