Location is amazing - you are a 5 minute walk from stunning sunset views over the Pacific. However do prepare to be very isolated. No cell service, no nearby gas, restaurants or grocery. Nearest grocery with limited selection 20 mins away by car. Bring fire wood! The electric heaters provided are not enough to heat the spaces on cold nights. This felt like a very DIY stay for the price paid. Starting, tending, and cleaning the fire/oven was a chore. I have to take off 2 stars for cleanliness and lack of address signage. Dust, dirt, wear and tear throughout the rental as noted by others. A chair was broken and unusable, knob fell off the TV console, towel bar fell off the holder in the bathroom. Dust and cobwebs everywhere. Black grime/dirt around the tiles on the shower. There is NO address sign for this property ANYWHERE. Be VERY CAREFUL where you drive and which roads you drive down. GPS is wrong and no address signs for this rental - AND there is a misleading address sign (says 9527 9529 - does that mean 9527 through 9529?) leading down another road - a man down that hill came running up to us screaming that we are TRESPASSING and we NEED TO LEAVE NOW - No he did not help us figure out where we need to go. A very simple sign from the hardware store on a post, with 9528 and an arrow pointing left would have saved us a very terrifying experience. With some basic fixes this could be a 5 star experience--hoping the owners take this feedback constructively as we intend it.

The property does have a million-dollar view and the beds are very comfortable. However, the place had cobwebs and the fake plants are covered in dust. I washed the dishes and cooking pots and utensils before using them. The cabin has a very strong mildew odor. I had to air out my luggage when I got home and wash everything whether it was worn or not. It was awful. My daughter killed a black widow spider in the bathroom which also has a mold issue. My daughter was bitten several times by something that was in her bedding. After ripping off the blankets and sheets and remaking the bed, there were no more issues. The views are the selling factor of this cabin. I don't know what VRBO's standards are for listing a property on their site but this one really needs to be re-assessed.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this property. Great views from the deck, well stocked kitchen, lots of beach areas to take nice walks on. Owner very helpful with any communications.

We stayed 4 days at this lovely property for a family get together. The cabin was homey, comfortable and relaxing. The views were outstanding. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The host was very communicative and responded promptly to any questions we had about the property. Check in was simple and check out even more so. We would definitely stay again.

We loved this little cottage. The million dollar views are spectacular and the location is super quiet with only a few homes nearby on the private road access off Goat Rock Rd. It has a little wood burning stove in the middle of the main room and an open concept in this octagon house with the deck going around over half of the cottage. It is well stocked and has everything you need and the small space heaters worked fine to take the chill off the house. We had rain the first day and a half but it cleared off afterwards. The sunsets were amazing and even though it is situated on the top of the mountain we could still hear the waves breaking on Goat Rock Beach, especially at night. We took a 35 miles drive up the coast to Salt Point State Park and walked the easy, flay trails along the bluffs resplendent with a myriad of wildflowers, watching huge waves crash into the rocky shore. We also visited the other worldly Kruse Rhododendron State Natural Reserve that was worth the drive up. A can't miss little shop is the General Store in Duncans Mills, just a short drive east, up the Russian River and the other shops in this little hamlet. The next day we drove over to Healdsburg, CA (about the same distance) through all the vineyards along Westside Rd. for a nice afternoon in all the quaint shops, galleries, etc. and had a late lunch at a place we like just off the center square. I shared photos of the views with friends who asked who we rented the place through and for contact info.

I was a little nervous about how remote the property is, but the view is 100% worth it. We ended up delayed flying in, and I have to say I'm glad we were not driving over the cliffs and hills after dark, though we regretted losing a day in this gorgeous region. The wood stove made for a cozy day, as our first day there was a bit chilly. Had fun exploring up the river, and exploring the beach the next day. And our last morning there, spotted a bobcat just beyond the deck! I hope we'll get to come back (and will make sure we arrive before sunset).

We love the house and the area! it was beautiful and peaceful. My wife had a favorite spot, Pacific Grove, Ca, but after staying at the Sea Nest, Jenner, CA; Now she says this is her new favorite spot. That this beat out Pacific Grove, Ca, my wife didn't want to leave. We can't wait to book another weekend at the Sea Nest.

The view, sound of the crashing waves, cute round house all by our favorite beach at Goat Rock, couldn't ask for anything better. Great communication with the owner and notes all over if you have questions about anything. Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven.

We stayed at the property for several days in September. Amazing ocean views. Nice property. Goat Rock Park is beautiful. It was just what we needed.

There is one serious problem that the host needs to address. The shower is not operable at all. And the bathtub stopper leaks, so it is very difficult to bathe. The bath water drains quickly out of the bathtub., and it needs to be refilled. It’s a terrible waste of water.

It was just what we wanted in a out of the way well maintained rental for the weekend. We have been to many many places in the area, from Tamales to Timber Cove for our semi annual brothers fishing trips. We both commented how nice this one was and how we want to come back to it. Dave was a great host, and very prompt and professional with messaging. Just great all way around. Highly recommend.

Beautiful little home on the coast. Amazing sunsets and access to everything in the coast. Kayaking, hiking and horseback riding. We had lovely weather and enjoyed long walks on the beach. Cottage was cozy and simple.

Too many restrictions about property not advertised in posting, water usage, heat, etc. Spiderwebs and very aged condition, musty. Beautiful location and potential. Family would not agree to stay there. I would consider for future if owner made basic upgrades.

Beautiful and Peaceful
What an incredible place. Private and quiet with a great view overlooking the Pacific and Russian River. We watched the seals in the evening down on the beach, then after sundown enjoyed the stars out on the deck. We'll be back!

Sea Nest was the perfect location for my boys and I to relax and recharge during our recent trip to say farewell to my grandmother. From the fully equipt kitchen to the view from the deck; all three of us greatly enjoyed our stay. The host David Lee was timely and open to any questions I had, which helped make my first time using a vacation rental seamless and set me at ease to be able to focus on why we were there. I honestly didn't want to leave!

Stayed during early spring, temperature in the house was very cold in the morning until you could get the fire going for a couple of hours. The space heaters supplied were not big enough for the high ceilings. You need to bring a lot of fire wood! Also there were signs about conserving water everywhere so don’t plan on taking a bath. It would’ve been nice to know you can’t have a bath during your vacation before hand, maybe put it in the description? The couches need updating for sure. The bed sheets and blankets all smelled strongly of someone’s perfume, not fun. There’s no washer or dryer so you can’t wash anything that smells. The bamboo chair in the living room (replacing the mission style chair in the photos) was shot through in the bottom and unusable. Some kitchen items looked like they hadn’t been washed in a long time. The view was wonderful and expansive. But very strong winds came up and with no wind break you could not enjoy the outdoors. The wind was so strong it was blowing the heavy wooden chairs around on the deck and shaking the whole house. In the summer maybe this place would be a lot better. A more honest listing would be ideal.

So easy to walk the trails, comb the beaches, admire the views on this stretch of Sonoma coast. Beds are comfortable, location is amazing, owner communication was excellent. No cell service, but good Wi-Fi and excellent explanation for how to handle the home’s technology. Be sure to bring firewood and drinking water.

We absolutely loved this little home! The location was perfect. We like the remote feeling it gave us. It was close enough for outings and a quick trip to town then back to relaxing!
You can hear the waves and seals just below the house. The views were breathe taking and having the fireplace made it cozy.
The host extremely easy to communicate with.
We would stay here again!

The Sea Nest is a wonderful vacation retreat. The property is private, has such amazing views, and had everything we needed to really enjoy just ‘being there’. The area was quite chilly during our stay, so (following the owner’s suggestion) we brought enough firewood to use the wood-burning stove each day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This property is absolutely breathtaking. You cannot beat the view of the Russian River and the Pacific Ocean. Only warning is READ & SAVE THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOU GET THERE! There is no signal or WiFi near or around the house so have the instructions ready, and bring fire wood to stay warm. Wonderful place

Great response time when asked questions about the home and gave us detailed info on wonderful local hikes! Quiet remote area, very peaceful, with an outstanding view of the Pacific coastline. We had a lovely family Christmas celebration here.
We cooked all our meals in the well supplied kitchen. Watched some classic videos (at the house), played our board games, and made our own music. Hope to return!
