We stayed in Oon Lee Bungalows for a couple of days. We arrived after a heavy rains so the road to the resort was destroyed at some point and we had to take our luggage, go through a mud for a while and change cars. But the staff was so friendly and made this trip so natural that we felt more optimistic. We were pesimistic because of the weather forecast, but what can you do about it:) We have been there in the 3rd week of November. The resort is beautiful. Clean, hidden in plants, lights at the evening make the place magical. Bungalow was clean and comfortable. No animals or insects inside ;) No Air-con but fan was absolutely enough. Food very tasty. Always fresh fish available. Drinks at the beach bar delicious and view at Koh Phi Phi amazing, especially at sunset. We didn’t go anywhere from the resort, only walking in the beach (apart from monkeys and small crabs we were very often alone there!:) ). To go from the bar / bungalow to the restaurant you have to climb rocky stairs which might be tiring for elderly people or those not in shape. To get in and out of the resort - we were supported by the Staff, given instructions or had arranged everything by Oon and Valerie. And This is another amazing feature - the resort is run by a family, Oon, his French wife Valerie, and their sons; they are supported by great staff members, e.g. Tar :) This makes you feel as a family member as well:) the stay was lovely, relaxing, wonderful experience. Excellent to chill, stay out of the crowdy places. We will be happy to come back :)

The staff at Oonlee are fantastic and make you feel like family while you're there. The resort itself is stunningly built and designed (bravo et merci Oon + Valerie for the great taste). We enjoyed the central restaurant offering up lots of tasty options (our surprise favourite was the sweet and sour pizza which was yellow curry, chicken and pineapple!) and the beach bar for cocktail hour was very fun! The room itself was very nice - we appreciated the two fans, front porch with a hammock and seating area.

One thing to note - the hotel is quite isolated from the rest of the island so it is a commitment to leave because you'll need a ride out and back by pick up truck up a jungle road - which was always fun :). The resort is on the side of a hill leading down to the beach, so be aware that there are lots of steps to climb.

The Road was damaged due to a landslide. It was very difficult to get to and from the accomodation, last few meters to the hotel were very muddy (tipp: get back before high tide, so you can skip most of the muddy paths).

Perfect if you're looking for a secluded getaway. The rooms have views and character and the bar, restaurant and grounds are all terrific. Excellent sunset views from the bar terrace down by the water. Staff and owners all very friendly and helpful. The food was really good although it might seem a bit pricey if you're on a tight budget and there aren't many options nearby. Lots of bugs and thieving monkeys (it is the jungle, after all) but there is a good mosquito net in the room. Realluy enjoyed the hammock on our deck, especially watching the sunrise.

The beach isn't the best, kind of rocky and small at high tide (but much nicer at low tide). The resort is located at the end of a long, rough road so it isn't really that easy to get in and out.

These bungalows have the perfect location if you look for a very nice spot to relax and a less touristic and crowded area. Besides that the bungalows themselves are beautiful and in a good condition, the garden and the view is amazing, but the star of this place is the staff and the family that owns it. Everyone is extremely friendly and polite and always happy to help or give a recommendation. I was picked up by one of sons with a scooter from the pier and even though the street to Onn Lee Bungalows is interesting, it is worth the adventure and real good fun. Next to the bungalows there is a restaurant with really good food - Thai but also tasty french dishes in case you are looking for something different. And up down close to the water you have a bar to catch a drink for the beautiful sunsets. There might be soon a new mocktail on the menu - Minty Kiss - and you shouldn't miss it. You can also can ask for Alena's favourite and you will get a soo tasty basil lemonade. More in the village there is the Pop Up Shop that offers coffee and really nice fashion pieces. I couldn't resist and took a nice memory with me. I highly recommend this place to everyone and hope that I come back one day! Thank you so much to all of you! Bisous Alena

There is nothing - I had a wonderful time and nothing to complain.

About the place: gorgeous gardens and vegetation, beautiful bungalows in limited numbers - giving a sense of privacy - and clean. The restaurant is also gorgeous and serves tasty food meaning you can have spicy and flavorful Thai dishes if you like but also delicious crepes or croque-monsieurs if you want a change - the bar serves great cocktails and the location is stunning. There are various spaces which make the place very magic in a way, we wished we had stayed at least 4 nights! Based on your mood you can go here or there within the estate, everything is gorgeous and taken care of. If you don’t like tasteless and factory-like resorts but want to chill and relax anyway, this is the place to go! About the staff: wow, what a place and what a team. The whole family works there and makes guests feel really comfortable and special, everyone who works there is tolerant, open and generous - every staff member’s great attention to detail is exceptional. Congrats to the team for creating and developing this wonderful space! We wish to come back one day. Bruno and Albert

-the staff was SOOOOO friendly and kind and made the effort to say hi and chat plus they were availble to help in any way possible. Shout out to Joey in the bar, wicked mixologist and also shout out to Ohm in the reception and restaurant really friendly and good humor. -I got a free upgrade to a sea view and the qualtiy of ALL the bungalows are simply amazing The bungalows are renovated every year and painted too so the quality is simply beyond good! The beds are super comfortable the balcony with the hammock, and the WARM WARM WARM gas heated shower. Simply great! -The other guests were also very friendly and open to chat. -the owners were really helpful and willing to bend over backwards to assist.. there is car pick up service from the docks and can help you get to the main road if assistance is needed -they had fresh raw baracuda carpaccio in the restaurant one night, AMAZING -hot water cooker and tea and coffee in the rooms -the bar is really relaxing and once again, the bartender Joey is super friendly helpful kind and generous, excellent character here! -the list is endless, if this place has free rooms BOOK A ROOM!!!!!!! you will NOT be dissapointed

-you dont have that idealistic coconut beach at the beach area, (but you dont have this anywhere on this island) you have to walk 30 meters to get to a sandy area to lay, but the water is warm , clean and there is a fresh water shower when you get out to rinse off AND there is a deck area facing the sea right above the beach with amazing view on which you can lay and get sun. -pain in the ass to get to on a motor bike, (the frist time i was very scared, i drove myself, second time it was ok, and third time I was a professional off road scooter driver) but they offer you pick up from the pier and forth if you need to get somewhere, (also everything is offered on site so you dont need to leave) -the bungalows are on a hill so you have to go down steps to get to some of them, and the beach area, if your legs and knees work this is not a problem, also healthy.

Valerie, Oon and especially Tah are the most helpful and friendly hosts I met during my stay in Thailand. As I travelled alone, they always tried to give me some good advice on what to do and where to go. They always spoke to me while I had dinner to safe me from being bored or getting homesick. Oon even showed me good snorkelling spots. On my last day, Valerie and Oon brought me to the airport in Krabi and before my flight left, they invited me for breakfast. Oonlee Bungalows was without a doubt the best acommodation that I had in Thailand. It's paradise! Hopefully, I can come back next year :)

Beautiful location on the island, fantastic sunsets. Oon, Valerie and all the staff have made us feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble! We stayed in the villa which was great for the whole family! We took kayaks around to Coconut Beach which is paradise and took mopeds and bicycles around the island. Tomorrow we are going for a day on the boat to 4 islands, snorkelling and fishing!

Delicious food and very accommodating staff and owners. The bungalows add a sense of style to rustic island holidays and the grounds of the resort are incredibly charming. Staff will help organize transportation to the island's roads where you can rent motorbikes and explore th islands laid back atmosphere, attractive cafes and delicious food as well as fantastic beaches. Koh Jum is for the escapist and for those seeking an alternative to Thailand's mass tourism; these travellers will find this island a perfect spot and OonLee Bungalows a fantastic base for an island break.

Oon Lee Bungalows is gorgeous! Beautifully rustically designed - quiet, comfortable, charming and feels pretty remote! The owners were so helpful with pick ups and drop offs and other information.

I liked the remoteness but Oon Lee Bungalows really is quite remote! Theres not lots of different restaurants and bars you can walk to. Feels like Thailand 30 years ago.

Comfortable spacious room with lovely balcony overlooking beautifully laid out gardens. Attention to detail in the bungalow made it unique. Lovely open dining area with beautiful old wood furniture. Food was superb at all times with fresh fish and crab available.

We absolutely loved our stay at Oon Lee. Valerie and her staff is so welcoming and caring, making sure you have a great stay. Book a bungalow with sea view and you might not ever want to leave! We rented a scooter to easily access the rest of Koh Jum, an island that will make you totally relaxed. Can't wait to visit again!
