We visited from out of town to see family and needed a place big enough to host dinner for 10. This place worked great. Big kitchen and lots of room for the extra table we needed. Clean and very new. Kitchen provisioning is a little weak e.g. only 8 plates. We improvised and had a great time. Host was unresponsive to minor questions during our stay, but it was new years week. Nothing urgent so it wasn't a problem.

Arrived at 4pm check in and housecleaner was still there cleaning, was able to access property 30 minutes after posted check in time. Approx 30 minutes after getting into the property the next door neighbor (who was on drugs with mental illness) approached my 25 year old daughter and told her if we had any kids or people over that “we would be sorry” fast forward… after our Christmas dinner (yes… this was on Christmas Day!) my brother and sister and two adult sons were leaving at 930 and the man chased them to their car holding the neck of a bottle attempting to attack them. We called the sherriffs… and had to leave the property for safety reasons as the man had baracaded himself in the house and now the police were in a standoff situation… The owners were very apologetic and refunded our money but knew there was an issue as apparently the previous renters had called the owners and complained two hours before we had arrived.. it is a very nice property and the owners were responsive in refunding quickly…however this was very traumatizing for myself and my family let alone we had no place to go and had to leave quickly. In the future I will never rent a multi unit property because this was not ok!

Property was very clean, beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed to serve Thanksgiving dinner.

The place was extremely clean and updated. Easy parking.

The house is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, close to Grocery Outlet and gas stations. We didn’t have any issues checking in, communicating with the property manager about minor questions, or anything else. Beds we’re comfortable. Bathrooms and entire house were clean and pest-free. It is a duplex, but we didn’t hear the family next door or any outside noise. The only critiques would be minor…. There was no iron/ironing board, and there was an odd smell from the water pipes after we’d been gone all day. Again, minor issues that didn’t impact our stay negatively. Family-friendly and safe environment. I’d book here again!

The Mckinleyville house was exactly what we needed for our one night stay while traveling! Easy to get to, check in was a breeze, clean and organized perfectly for our group.
