Rented this house for a reunion with friends. Contact with property manager was easy and they let us go in early but we did have to contact them to get the pass code. The house itself was very clean but for some reason there were lady bugs all over the house and dead on the porch. I loved the historical aspect of the house, bathrooms were beautiful and a very nice kitchen. Cora's restaurant is literally a tenth of a mile from this house and had delicious food. Parking isn't the best, only room for 2 cars in the driveway so some of us had to park in the road. All in all it was a wonderful stay and I would rent it again.

The town of Hawley is lovely! Three of my best girlfriend, and I visited Hawley and adored it. Unfortunately, we were not sent the code to get into the house. But the property manager was quick to answer our call and get us access into the home. The downstairs bathroom was locked and we were unable to get into it. We called the manager to assist us and she gave us, a response that she was in New York and would be unable to make it that night, we asked if there was anyone local to open the door for us, as we did not want to continue to go upstairs all night. She stated “I guess I will have to ask my husband to leave work early“. She seemed a bit catty and not at all sympathetic. The husband did show up very quickly, and was very kind and quickly opened the door for us. This is certainly not a walkable distance to town. The home is on a hill that has many blind spots and not a walkable area to get to town. Which is a bit misleading from the title of the listing. That said, the town was perfect and exactly what my friends and I were looking for. Also, the home was beautiful, but I think it could’ve been a bit cleaner and the outside was very disheveled. The day we arrived it was in the 80s so a nice day to sit outside. The furniture was all disheveled, leaves were matting everything. Which we do understand is not necessarily the managers fault, but you could tell that there was no attempt to reflect the pictures in the listing.

The setting near the river and the views of the town/mountains were amazing. But the parking situation, busy (and noisy) road, and small beds were distracting. and less than desirable.

This home was absolutely beautiful and the host was very responsive. If we ever go back to Hawley again we would definitetly want to stay here again!

Very nice size house beautifully finished. Had everything we needed for a weekend girls trip. Clean, nice linens and kitchen ware. Easy booking and communication.
