Good location, great views. Comfortable house.

Terrible access. Steep gravelled driveway (2 family members slipped over) with no path to house. Other access up steep sloping steps - at least they had a handrail. People with mobility issues would not have had suitable access to the house. BBQ advertised as part of amenities but there wasn’t one. Bathroom skylight leaked when it rained.

I liked the quirky retro feel of the house. The owner had gone to some trouble to make the house visibly pleasing, fresh and clean. The space was utilized well & the separate games room an added touch. Great location to the beach and Avoca Theatre & restaurants, as long as you can walk a hill and steep rickety stairs to access the house. The view is terrific and sitting on the front balcony most enjoyable. The air conditioner & main bedroom fan were much appreciated on the 40 degree days we experienced during our stay, although serviced only a small area of the 2 storey house.

Although everything was pleasing to the eye it wasn't necessarily comfortable. One lounge, an old pullout sofa is saggy, to sit on. The armchairs look great, but the cushions go through to the ground when you sit, we improvised by stuffing the sunken space with cushions, but should we have to? The second double bedroom(next to the bathroom) has a sunken mattress on one side & the bed scoots across the floor with only a little pressure, uncomfortable & dangerous. The windows in the downstairs room could not be opened at night as there were no flyscreens The cooking utensils are at a bare minimum for catering for a house that sleeps 9. Please, at least add a cheese grater. There was no BBQ as advertised. Unfortunately, the level access from the carparking space behind the games room, as depicted in photos is now a building site making access difficult for those with young children(prams) or those with unsure footing. The rent is a bit high when there are these comfort issues that need to be addressed. Would love to return if the comfort & access issues are resolved. It's a great spot.

The location appeared to be good although we decided not to stay in the property so cannot truly comment

We arrived at the property and within an hour had arranged alternative accommodation for our planned 5 night stay. The photos don’t accurately portray the standard of the property. It is in need of a lot of updating. The windows in the lounge rattled constantly and let draughts through. The property was dusty in areas . We could not stay there comfortably. We arranged alternative accommodation and moved. We messaged the property to tell them of our decision. Three days later they sent us check out Information. Obviously they had failed to read our message from 3 days earlier. It makes me wonder what their communication might have been like if we had stayed in the property and encountered any issues. They property has potential but needs investment and certainly should not attract the amount of money we paid to stay there. Very disappointing.
