The apartment is part of the houseboat where the family has their home. It has a private entrance, very clean, comfortable beds, nice shower, nice kitchenette with sitting and dining area. Great for 2 people, might be a bit close quarters for 4, but definitely do-able. There is no TV, no problem for us. The entrance into the apartment is a bit “dicy” in the dark and rain, for us “seniors” it felt a little slippery with 2 steps and a turn.
Overall a great stay with a very friendly and attentive host.

This was a great find. Close to central station but out of the hustle and bustle. Only a 8 min walk to the 24hr ferry which put us right in the thick of things. Edwin was extremely helpful and responsive without being intrusive. We are a family of four and although it was a little smaller then we are used to, it but was very warm and cozy.
If there was one thing, perhaps a window in the second bedroom. The host has indicated that he will be putting a floating deck outside the sliding doors so that will be really nice for morning coffee. Would I recommend the property,,,,ABSOLUTELY!

Flawless and unique experience, great hosts who went above and beyond, nice sized space that is super clean and well stocked. Location is great in the northern area near a great street market. A bit of a walk to central station, but not bad.

Great apartment for our family. Great location a shirt walk and 1 minute ferry from central station. Edwin (host) was really friendly and had good recommendations for things to do.

You can reach nearly everything in about 20 min. Official parking is a little bit difficult. We had our car directly in the street before the house, but not sure if it was just luck or really allowed.
There was no terrace like on the pictures, but maybe it was only the season.
The ventilation in the bathroom is connected to the mainhouse, which lead to garlic smell every evening in the bath. This could be improved for future guests.
All in all we would choose the location again.

The place was immaculate and well kept. being on the water is a very special experience, and gives a serene start to the day.
The location is a bit out of the way, but the free ferry from Amsterdam Centraal runs every few minutes, 24hrs a day.

The houseboat apartment is a perfect way to enjoy a visit to Amsterdam. The hosts were very friendly, welcoming and helpful and the location is a short walk to the free ferry to the heart of historic Amsterdam. We would love to stay here again!

Nice place but very small rooms. No where to put clothing away and one room has no window and the door doesn’t close. Best thing is the location.

Edwin was very helpful with suggestions around town and responded quickly. The property was clean, a short ferry ride to Amsterdam Centraal, and comfortable. Staying here made our visit to Amsterdam really pleasant.

We really enjoyed our stay at Edwin’s place (4 adults). It’s a cozy space but had just about everything we needed. In a quiet area, it’s a short walk to the free pedestrian ferry and a bike rental company, and there are restaurants and services within a 10 minute walk. Edwin had some great advice on where to go and what to see. He was very responsive to any concerns we brought up, and brought over a microwave oven and a fan on our request. He provided two bikes for our sons to use and we rented two more for our 4-night stay, which turned out to be the best way to get around in the city. One minor inconvenience was the lack of laundry facilities which were mentioned in the listing. We ended up going to a laundromat 10 minutes away, but it would have been helpful to know that it wasn’t actually onsite. Coming off a week-long road trip in France, we had a lot of laundry to do! Overall a nice place to stay.

We were happy to spend four days in this lovely house-enough space for four adults. Downtown Amsterdam is just a few minutes away and you will find a supermarket and a bakery near by. Quiet and nice area! Amazing hosts-very friendly and helpful!

Great location. Easy walk to free ferry crossing to Amsterdam Central Train Station. Apartment opens to the morning sunrise over the canal it is on. Edwin, the owner, lives on site and is very helpful and friendly, with a great knowledge of Amsterdam and Holland. When I go back to Amsterdam I will rent this again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Edwins place. It is very conviniently positioned in a quiet area but very close to Amsterdam Central Station. House is unique and very comfortable. Edwin was very helpful and attentive. Would stay here again.

I stayed in this place with a friend. The owners are super nice and live in a connected property, I asked them to turn up the heat one day and they were super accommodating.
The owner offered up many great suggestions for sight seeing and things to do. Was super knowledgeable about the city. Would stay again.

Very first time in the Netherlands. The host is very knowledgeable about the history and architecture of Amsterdam. He is very passionate about teaching you about this city. If you have any questions about the city Edwin can answer it for you! The area is great and an easy walk to the ferry that takes you into the heart of the city about 15 mins to reach the main part from your stay. The home is super cozy as well.

Having never stayed in a houseboat, this was an experience we couldn't miss. The space was efficient and well equiped. It was a thrill to ride the ferry every day and the houseboat was only a short walk from the ferry stop. Highly recommend!
