The Monroe House was just what our family needed as an end of summer retreat. The home had plenty of space for our three kiddos to roam about while also feeling close and cozy for games and movie night in. It's no further than 15 mins to get anywhere you could need for accustomed amenities (groceries, gas, or chain restaurants), and is also minutes from beaches, parks and local restaurants.
We enjoyed Silver Beach and walking around St Joe as well as hiking down to the lake closer to the air bnb at Hagar Park (there are a lot of stairs, but we found it completely manageable even with a 1yo, 4yo, & preteen).
On the last evening we went to Jean Klock park and took family photos. It was absolutely stunning at sunset!
Monroe House is clean, well stocked for utilizing the kitchen, and the backyard & hot tub were favorites! 10/10 recommend this stay for a slow and relaxed environment allowing you to enjoy a homey get away without being too far off the beaten path.

Enjoyed all the amenities. The toys and games were very thoughtful. Close to St. Joseph where we spent our time. Having a Dollar General so close was great.

Very NICE! Large well equipped kitchen and house. Lots of extras!
One bedroom Alittle small and didn’t think about there being no closets for hanging clothes and jackets. Would book again if available.

The home worked great for our family. Close to St Joseph and South Haven. We truly enjoyed our time at the home and plan to book again next year. A little off the beaten path, which was exactly what we were looking for. Thank you for a great stay!!!

We stayed at the Monroe house for my 40th birthday celebration with my family. I actually booked the rental before the construction was done based on the write up but Catie communicated with me throughout the following months to ensure I knew how the property was coming along and that it would meet the needs of my group. We had an extended weekend of beach fun, kids playing in the yard, hot tub, grilling, dinner in St. Joe’s and lots of laughter and memories made. Everything was easy and the house was perfect for our group! One small miss was that the washer/dryer was not yet available/connected and that makes cleaning towels and swimsuits after the beach a bit difficult but we made do. Thanks Catie!

The house was beautiful and well stocked for our 3 day adventure! The 2 minute beach (Hagar park) had way to many steps to even attempt to go down with as much beach stuff as we had and the baby, but the house is located right in between St. Joseph & South Haven 15 minutes each way. We love both places so it was perfect!
